Hello, I am Joshua P. Warren, and this is Joshua P. Warren Daily. And I have some new news for you about Carville, Art Bell's wooden alien statue that was supposedly coming to life at night. And speaking of news, have you ever heard that the word news comes from north, east, west, and south? Sounds cool, doesn't it? It's not true, they say. Not true. It's just, you know, there was a a word uh an English word new, and the new stuff is the news But anyway, here's some new news. And I I talk a lot about Art Bell's alien statue for a good reason. But honestly, the story behind this thing has sort of been like a big puzzle, a big mystery, and pieces are still falling into place. And so before I tell you the latest, uh, I will just be as brief as possible to sort of recap for you what we do know about this wooden statue. Of course, uh you've heard me talk about this again a number of times. In 2011, Mobius notified me that Art Bell, who had interviewed me numerous times, needed to get rid of this wooden, four-foot-tall, hundred-pound wooden alien statue because his wife and daughter claimed it was coming to life at night and running around the house and scaring them. And so I got in touch with art and um and and by the way, I bought it from art. Uh, a lot of people are under the impression that he just gave it to me because you know I do have a museum, and art is from North Carolina, so it was a fitting piece. But uh I did pay him for it and and made arrangements to to have this picked up. And I found out later, I mean, like art had told me that this was given to him by Rush Limbaugh. And in fact, when my friend Jim Castle, who is a uh producer or director in LA, went on my behalf and picked up Art's uh statue there. Art had Jim come into his house and was a great host, and Art got down on his hands and knees and signed the base of the statue while Jim was photographing, and then Art also sent the statue along with a handwritten note, which I have in front of me right now, because that um the I had a copy of this on display next to Carville in the Asheville Mystery Museum for you know almost ten years. But the original I've always kept in my own private vault, and I have the original in my hands right now. I haven't even looked at this original in years. It's dated August the thirteenth of 2011. Again, all written in Art Bell's hand, mainly in caps. It says to all, this alien statue was in the studio of Rush Limbaugh at WABC in New York City. Rush gave it to me at a radio and records convention. He has been in my studio since the early O's, aughts, or whatever. Uh I hope you enjoy his company, Art Bell. So there are numerous pictures of art um with this thing, both in his studio. There's a webcam shot of him with Carville from 2001 in the studio. And of course, you know, I art said Rush gave this to me, and the story was that Rush had named the alien Carville because that he thought the alien looked like James Carville, the Democratic political pundit. And so Rush would jokingly refer to the statue as Carville. So I knew that much, and then Vance, Vance Pollock, Sherlock Pollock, he uh years later was able to track down the guy who made Carville. Darren Hussey is his name, and of course, I interviewed him uh and and replayed that interview for you recently on this podcast. Darren Hussey usually made cigar store Indians, but he listened to Rush Limbaugh every day, and one day there was like a National Enquirer photo that had Rush Limbaugh with an alien, so he thought it'd be funny to make an alien statue, so he made an alien statue and he dropped it off at Russia's studio there in New York and never heard another thing about it. So he had no idea that it had even really been accepted and then transferred from Rush to Art. Um so we know for a fact, we know who made it, we know how he made it, we know he dropped it off at Rush's studio, and the next thing you know, boom, we know that Art Bell has it. And Art's saying, I got it from Rush, and it's named Carville, and it's by the way, coming to life at night. So after I acquired the statue and put all the pictures and all the provenance around it, so it sat there in the Asheville Mystery Museum for you know almost 10 years. And just this month, the mystery museum is no more. Uh, it has closed down because of, as you know, the the building has flooding and uh all kinds of structural issues that are having to be dealt with. And so as we speak, um Carville and some of the other featured pieces from the Asheville Mystery Museum are on a truck heading to Las Vegas, and they will be kept in a very secure place until I am ready to put Carville the Alien on display for one night only, which will be May 29th, 2020, for the very first night of my conference called Finding Your Magic 2: How to Hack Reality Through Lucid Living. This is going to be my last conference that I ever produce in my for the rest of my life because I don't have time to produce conferences anymore. So this is a very special night, and on May 29th, we're gonna have our meet and greet, and we're gonna have a party basically, and Carvel's gonna be there. So if you want to be a part of that, go to you willmanifest.com and click the link at the top to see uh the information about the event and whether or not we're sold out. Uh it'll either be green saying available or red saying sold out. I don't know what the the latest is, but you will manifest.com. So in the meantime, I figure, you know, I'm gonna be putting Carville back on display here in in Nevada, which is is interesting because that's where um you know that's that's where art lived. I mean, art lived in Perump, right down the road here, next to Las Vegas. And it never occurred to me that when 10 years ago Carvel made the journey east that he really wanted to turn around and and go back west. He wants to come back home to where art was. And so I figured, okay, before I put him on display out here, I really want to dig more into the details of his story, you know, of find out even more about the connection between uh art and rush and all that, because you have to realize something. Art Bell had won many awards in his life, including being inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. And he said he got this as a gift from Rush Limbaugh, who also has been inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. And just the other day, you know, just recently, Rush was given the Medal of Freedom by President Trump, which is the highest civilian honor that a president can bestow. Uh, and so we have two very important figures. And again, uh whether or not you uh like their politics or their point of view is irrelevant. We have two extremely successful influential broadcasters. Rush, who had the or I guess has the number one daytime show on the radio, and Art, who had the number one nighttime show on the radio, they had this one common element, this statue. I mean, you're not going to go out there and find like a microphone that one guy passed to another or something like that. I mean, this is just such a bizarre, quirky thing that this even exists. And we know as much about it as we do. But these are two very significant individuals in American broadcasting history. And so to have this, I mean, it it is important to try to learn as much about it as you can. And you know, Rush Limbaugh recently announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer, and so you know, it's it's even more pressing than ever to try to see if we can learn as much as we can about you know the history of Carville. So I've been kind of hesitant to do this for a while because George Norrie, even though he and I are good friends and we've worked together on every type of project you can imagine, TV shows, plenty of radio interviews and projects and experiments and live events and all, he's a very, very busy guy. I don't know how he keeps the schedule that he keeps. You know, when when just his normal schedule would exhaust the average person, but then when he's not working uh his normal schedule, he's flying off and doing other things. So he's a very, very busy guy. So I'd been hesitating to ask George if he could help me get more information about this because I wanted to make sure that you know I wasn't uh sort of you know taking up too much of his time. I gotta tell you something. George Norrie, as soon as I wrote him and said, I'm trying to get more information on the story of Carvel and you know any kind of information I can get from Rush Limbaugh, because I don't have a direct line to Rush Limbaugh, and I did actually write um a message through his website trying to get some information, and uh that I didn't get anything, and so but you know, there who knows how many fans are writing for the website. I never had a direct connection to Rush. So I figured, okay, I'll try. So I asked George, do you have any info or insight on this? And George immediately got back to me and was really intrigued with all this and said, uh it's it's gonna be kind of tough right now because that you know Russia's going through these medical issues and everything, but let's let's see what we can do. So George started contacting people in the industry, and right off the bat, his producer Lisa Lyons said, Yeah, I remember when this was given to art. It was at a radio convention, it was at a hotel in Marina del Rey, uh California, and like she remembered it distinctly right off the bat. But George um had contacted a man named Craig Kitchen, and Craig Kitchen, I don't know if he uh still is, he probably still is, um the chairman of the National Radio Hall of Fame, a guy who really loves radio and who has had personal, you know, sort of hands-on experience in both Russia's world and in arts world. And so he started corresponding and trying to see if he could get more information, and then finally he um he contacted a man named Al Peterson, and to be honest with you, I I I I can't I don't know who all these names are, um, but obviously these are people who are very involved at the highest level of the radio business, and so I got an email. George and I got an email from Craig Kitchen that Craig had gotten from a man named Al Peterson, and here is what it says. It and he's talking about Carvel, the statue. It was given to Art by Randy Michaels at the R and R Talk Radio Seminar, TRS, they called it, in 2001. Art made his first industry appearance at TRS after returning as host of Coast to Coast. The appearance was a live one-on-one conversation with Matt Drudge that took place in the Pacific Room at the Marriott in Marina Del Rey. The date when Art received the alien from Randy was Saturday, march tenth, two thousand one. He goes on to say Art's appearance was to be followed by a session hosted by Randy, who was then the Clear Channel CEO. Randy was to speak in the same room immediately following Art and Matt. Earlier that morning, Randy had arranged with us to hide the alien behind the stage curtain. When Art and Matt were done, Randy came out and told the audience to sit down because he had a special presentation for Art to welcome him back to the show. And to Art's obvious delight, out came the alien. I don't know how or where Randy got the alien, but I can confirm it was at that event on that day when Art first received it. Um he says, I know there is a photo of Art hugging the alien on stage, blah blah blah. And then he goes on to say, uh, I'm sure that radio's best friend Art Fuolo has video documentation that you could probably wrangle out of him, and he also attached the um the program from that event that year. So wow, okay. So this is a guy who said the CEO of Clear Channel had us, meaning he he was one of the people hide the statue behind this curtain to bring it out as a surprise for art. And so guess what I did? I sent that information to Vance Pollack. And Vance lit up like a light bulb, but he goes, Okay, now I I've I know exactly how to look for this date and this location, and in less than twenty-four hours, Vance had found photographs online that none of us had ever seen before of Art receiving Carville. And it's it's exactly as Al Peterson described. So Art was sitting on stage with Matt Drudge and you know, doing a conversation on stage, and then obviously, right as their session ends, that was when the Clear Channel CEO, um Randy, let's see, Randy Michaels said, here you go, here's a surprise. And when you look at the pictures that Vance found, they're archived um on Artbell's website, artbell.com, which has no is it's now been updated, but believe it or not, Vance was able to access that archive through the Wayback Machine. And not only do you see pictures of art there with Matt Drudge, but it actually says on Art Bell's website as a part of the picture, and I'm looking at the pictures right now, it actually says there on the website Art receives the famous alien from Rush Limbaugh. Art receives the famous alien from Rush Limbaugh. So here's what we have, here's what we know. We know Darren Hussey made this alien and dropped it off at Rush Limbaugh's studio at uh WABC in New York. We know that on March 10th of 2001, at the Marriott there in Marina Del Rey at the uh R and R conference let's see, the R and R Talk Radio Seminar, that Randy Michaels, the CEO of Clear Channel, brought this out and gave it to Art while Art was on stage with Matt Drudge. Then we fast forward uh ten years later, and now we have Art Bell saying this thing is coming to life and it's gotta go, and gives me a handwritten note saying this was in the studio of Rush Limbaugh at WABC in New York City. The provenance here is as well established as it gets. There were it was done publicly, there were lots of people. The only thing, the only thing that I'm missing right now that I think would just really just sort of complete this whole thing. I'd just like to have some kind of a statement from Rush Limbaugh. Just just an email, just one sentence or two sentences or three sentences, just with his point of view on like whatever he wants to say, just whatever he wants to say, but him saying something about the this alien. I mean, after all, he named it Carville, and and maybe about like why he sent it to Art or how he sent it, just something. Just I don't have anything that directly has come from Rush Limbaugh. And so um, again, it's it it's a s it's a tough time for him right now, so I don't know if we're gonna get anything, but it's pretty exciting to have these new images and to have all these people who were there and in the business give us this new insight. And so if you want to see these pictures that I've been talking about that I'd never seen before until just you know a day or so ago, uh you gotta go to my Twitter account at Joshua P. Warren. You if you just get on Google and type in Joshua P. Warren Twitter, it'll take you there. And I'm gonna post them there. Or uh if you're on our Facebook page, we have a Joshua P. Warren's Daily Podcast Facebook page. Uh I'll put them there for you as well, and uh you'll be able to see these new amazing pictures. So, gosh, you know, I want to thank George Nori and Lisa Lyon and Craig Kitchen and Al Peterson and Vance Pollack and all these people who are doing all this new research to try to to document the s the story of this amazing item. And I just am privileged that I am the current owner of this statue. I don't know what the future holds, but I know this statue is going to be around long after I'm gone. And so I don't know where it ultimately will belong, but it belongs somewhere really special. I mean, this would have this would make a perfect little addition there to the Smithsonian Institution where it is encased in glass and secured properly for forever. Um But how exciting is that um to know that a lot of mysteries that we encounter in life are never going to be solved. You know, they're just too abstract or ephemeral or whatever. This is a physical thing with a physical history and a physical provenance, and we're we're filling in the pieces and we're solving it. So listen, if any of you out there happen to be listening to this and you have a direct connection to Rush Limbaugh, and you can procure an email from him or a phone call or whatever, uh please let me know. And uh it's easy to find me. Go to joshua pwarren.com because when I debut Carville here in Las Vegas, when I display him here, you know what? It's actually gonna be the first time that he's ever been put on display in Las Vegas because he was just in Rush's studio, and then he was at the hotel in California, and then he was in Art's studio in Perump, and then he was in Asheville at the museum. This is gonna be the first time when we're gonna be able to actually say we have Carville the Alien on display in Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. What a journey! Do you think that art could have ever imagined this? Or do you think that Rush could have ever imagined this? No way. So I want to get as much done as possible before that event. And remember, if you want to be there, I'm just gonna bring him out for this party. It's a private party. It's only for those of you who attend youwillmanifest.com. You will manifest.com. And listen, I've got people coming from all over the world already. I've got people coming from Puerto Rico. I mean, it's it's it's going to be something you don't want to miss. And if you already have a ticket to something else, you might want to consider canceling that ticket because that other thing that you're maybe that will repeat, and this is not going to. This is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. So don't forget that. Um now, let's say you can't be at you manifest.com, the finding your magic event. Well, I told you I have some good news about the creepy Vegas Ghost and UFO show. We have expanded. We were just doing the creepy Vegas Ghost and UFO show on Saturday nights at Millennium Fandom. We are continuing that. But starting this coming Wednesday, March the 4th, 2020. Well, we're on the strip as well. Wednesday nights you can see the Creepy Vegas Ghost and UFO show at Bally's Hotel and Casino, right in the middle of everything on the strip. And here is the coolest part. Guess where it is inside Ballys? 'Cause Bally's is a big property. It's at the Twilight Zone. Do you know what the Twilight Zone is? Twilight Zone Mini Golf and Arcade. It's literally a big glow in the dark indoor mini golf course that's all Twilight Zone themed and it kicks ass. And it's so much fun. I mean, Lauren and I went there just on our own for fun for the first time months ago and loved it. They've got the mini golf there. They have uh the arcade, they've got a bowling alley, but they have a nice big showroom. And so I have the showroom on uh Wednesday nights for at least the months of March and April 2020. If you go to creepyvegas.com, you'll find all the info. But the coolest thing for many of you is that you can go uh at any age. Like for example, on Saturdays when we do them at Millennium Fandom, well that's a bar, and you have to be 21 or older. And if you go to the one at Bally's on a Wednesday night, not only is it for all ages, but if you buy a ticket and you have kids, any kids under 13 and 13 or under are free. And the first twenty-five people who buy a ticket get a free round of mini golf afterward. After the show. So I mean, you yeah, it's unbelievable how well this has worked out. But you've got to go there and get your ticket right now, creepyvegas.com, creepyvegas.com. It tells you the difference, like Saturday show at Millennium Fandom and Downtown or for 21 and up, or Wednesday show on the strip at Bally's at Twilight Zone for all ages there. And um, you you know, you'll have all the information you need to figure out what you want to do if you're gonna be in the Vegas area. And trust me, Vegas can be a very expensive place. You will not have a more enjoyable experience for your money. I guarantee you that the money that you spend, it's it's ridiculous how how affordable creepy vegas is compared to other things to do here in Las Vegas. So go to creepyvegas.com. Maybe I'll see you even this coming Wednesday. Um as a matter of fact, you know, we have the Creepy Vegas show going on tonight. Uh I couldn't make it to this one. I can't personally make it to everyone that we do, but uh I will certainly be there on March 4th at Bally's for that one. So anyway, thought you'd enjoy that uh update on things, and I have a feeling there's more to come that the story is not completely told just yet. So stay tuned, stay tuned, and um just remember if you go to joshuapwarren.com, you'll find a lot of interesting stuff to explore: pictures, video clips, a lot of great free content.
