Last night, for the first time in my life, I chipped a tooth. And boy, will that make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. But don't worry, this story has kind of an amazing, happy ending. And uh I know some of you are probably listening and going, uh, chipped a tooth, big deal. I I talked to a bartender today, and he goes, uh I told him about it. He goes, I have a chip tooth right now. I have I I guess you'd call it a phobia uh about like dental stuff. Uh I just can't can't stand the idea of dental issues and taking out the drill and I'm not like Jack Dingelson in the original uh little shop of horrors, for those of you who get that. So uh that said, uh here here's sort of what happened. Lauren and I uh recently took a trip to Big Bear Lake, California. And uh it that's like uh a little Christmas town in a snow globe. And I'll tell you more about that on uh an upcoming edition of Strange Things, which is my uh regular podcast. I'm taking a little bit of a hiatus right now. Uh I'm recording this in December of 2022, so I'm doing kind of a Christmas break thing. So anyway, uh around the time I was in Big Bear Lake, I started having some tooth sensitivity in one of my uh molars on the lower right side. And uh, of course, I was just like, I hope this just magically gets better and heals itself. And of course, you know, it didn't. And so last night I was just eating something really a very innocent thing. I I think it was like a uh like a breakfast bar, but it didn't it didn't have granola or nuts. It was it was it was a nice uh a nice soft thing, and uh at some point, you know, I was eating it, and all of a sudden, like this back molar uh just kind of went and then I I I just I knew like oh fuck, you know, like something has happened here, and uh it didn't hurt, it didn't hurt at that point, and I I kind of I think I pretty much like spit this piece of my tooth out, and then uh my tongue ran over there, and uh like I it I hate to even conjure up these images for you mentally, but uh like when your tongue is is used to feeling the way your teeth uh are, and then all of a sudden uh there's like a hole and a sharp edge. I mean, it's it's just freaky. And uh as a matter of fact, here's a here here's a side story, um which uh which I'll tell you because you obviously don't don't have shit to do right now because you're listening to this. Uh I last year I was in Santa Monica, California, and I was filming a television show. This is this is just a weird, you know, random story. And uh Lauren and I went into someplace to have lunch, and uh as we were sitting there eating, Lauren looks at me and she goes, Hey, look, Kevin Nealon just walked in. Now, Kevin Nealon is one of my favorite comedians. Uh, I of course I I first encountered him uh on SNL, you know, Saturday Night Live, and uh I can't even tell you how many great characters he played. I mean, I'm sure you remember, like, for example, like Hans and Franz, you know, it was him and Dana Carey, but he he's just done so much stuff. He's been in so many movies, and sure enough, like Kevin Nealin came walking in um to the restaurant and he sat down, and I'm I'm just such a Kevin Nealin fan that a part of me thought like I I should probably invite him to come on my podcast or or just do something. But then, you know, I was going back and forth in my head, and I was just like, I don't I don't know what to do with this situation because I I there's no real good reason that he should come on my podcast, and I don't like walking up to celebrities out out of the blue and and messing with them. So I actually never said anything to him. He he sat down and uh he I think he had something real simple, like maybe a coffee or something like that. And I I so I never approached him, but um the reason I bring that up is because uh you know he he does this comedy routine where he talks about like uh something being wrong in your mouth, and then your tongue is immediate uh immediately on it like a bloodhound. And and that's that and that's a that that's a good uh description. And it's true. So my tongue is all over this thing like a bloodhound, and I'm just like, oh, this sucks, this sucks, this sucks. And you know, once a part of your tooth breaks, that it's likely that that process will continue. You know, it will keep breaking, right? So I called my uh dentist uh dentist office and said, uh, is is there any way I can come in there tomorrow? And I explained what happened, and they said, Well, you know, this sounds like an emergency, and so um they arranged for me to go in there. And so I went to the dentist and okay, this story okay I'm trying to figure out like how to put all these little like plot elements together. Okay, so here's what happened. My dentist and and I and I do not usually talk about people like and give their name without asking for permission, but I I think she's gonna be okay with this. My dentist in Las Vegas is a lady named Dr. C Cat. And um, as a matter of fact, okay, I just looked up her uh online profile and uh C Cat is spelled S-I-C-A-T. Yeah. Uh S-I-C-A-T. And I and she's been my dentist again for like five years. Super, super nice, and she knows that I am a big wuss when it comes to anything, you know, dentally oriented. And I and I'll tell you this also this is how you know that you're getting kind of old. I I'm a middle-aged man. And uh there's a bio for her online, and it says that her uh some of her favorite books are the Twilight Saga, and um her favorite movies are Harry Potter and Titanic. So this this is when you know you're getting old when your doctor is that much younger than you. Your doctor's into Harry Potter and Titanic, okay. So but she's always been great, always been great. And uh, so I go into the doctor's office, and uh they take some new x-rays, and they're like, Yep, yep, you got you got a chip for sure on this tooth. And then uh so uh Dr. C Cat she goes, Well, uh, I think probably our best bet is to do an inlay. Uh, which is where they just kind of fill it in with a piece of ceramic. And they uh they have 3D printers now. Uh so they can just print like a piece of ceramic that fits into that. And uh she said, Well, uh we've never done dental work before. Like, you know, she's cleaned my teeth, but she goes, We've we've never done dental work before. And I said, Yeah. She's like, So uh, you know, we'll see how this goes. And I'm like, oh fuck, what does that mean? And so then uh so she comes in, and I I I don't know what they're gonna do, and frankly, I don't want to know. I just I honestly I don't want to know. I I didn't even look at this uh fracture in my tooth, this you know I I I to a certain extent I like to be the ostrich with my head in the sand sometimes. I think that can be beneficial at certain times in life. So she comes in and she gives me all these shots uh with uh numbing agents, you know. And uh and she's cut she goes, you know, I'm gonna give you some extra stuff here, you know, since you've had some sensitivity. Uh like fine, get you yes, please numb the hell out of this. And so pretty soon my face is so numb that uh at one point I thought my ear was itching, and I reached up and I was like, shit, I can't feel my ear. Couldn't feel my ear. So I was like, good, the number, the number of the bottom, the you know it goes. You you can't speak when you when your face is numb like that. So anyway, long story short uh short, uh, she comes in there with an assistant, and uh, and then she goes, like, uh, oh, all right, well, we're gonna we're gonna have a lot of noise now, okay? And I'm like, all right. Uh and she's just she's really doing a great job, exactly the kind of job I would want, like making sure that she's just being as tender and careful as possible. And then so she's in there, apparently like uh, I guess drilling or or sanding or grinding or whatever a dentist does, you know, to make this hole a little more symmetrical, smooth. I don't know. And then um, but I didn't feel a thing. Thank God. And then uh they they went and they they printed up the uh the piece of porcelain and they put it in there and they sealed it up, and she was talking to her uh assistant and like, wow, look, what look what a great job we did. Boy, this this is like a jigsaw puzzle. That's just perfect, it's beautiful, you know. And she was right. I mean, you know, like right now, I got my choppers back, and uh they're absolutely every everything's in order. And and and that's why hopefully she doesn't mind me actually using her name here on this podcast, because I want to give kudos to Dr. Seacat. If you're in Las Vegas and you need a doctor who r uh is going to understand uh the sensitivities you require. You know, we all make fun of like young people, we call them snowflakes and all that, and say, oh, in my day, in my day, we had to walk to school in five feet of snow, and in my day we didn't have TV, we just stare at the sun for two hours, you know. It's that actually, you know what, when it comes to a dentist, you don't want some old guy who has uh grown up under those circumstances. You want a younger person who is more sensitive to your needs. Trust me. This is now think about that. The next time you're going to criticize a young person for being too sensitive or whatever about life, like that might be the person that you actually want when you need some help. All right. So, yeah, here in Las Vegas, Dr. C Cat, S-I-C-A-T, uh, she is um, yeah, I I love her. So, anyway, uh, I I I think that she is um I think that she and and other dentists like her, they're all they're actually artists. You know, they're they're not just doctors, but they're also kind of engineers and artists, and that and they're doing all that together. I mean, a good doctor is an amazing person, if you really think about it. Uh, a good doctor is somebody who doesn't just see you as another number uh on the table. A good doctor is somebody who sees you as uh someone that he or she can sympathize with, you know, like the doctor can be like, I am thinking about like what I would want if I were in this patient's position. And so um she did just such a great job, and the the uh I think that the job, I believe, would have cost over a thousand dollars, but I uh have a a dental plan with them, uh and so because I get my teeth cleaned on a regular basis and such. And so I think that the bill was uh I just looked it up as a matter of fact to confirm this before I recorded this podcast. So the bill was $370. So it took uh I don't know, you know, a few hours to do all this. And so uh Lauren she had dropped me off at the dentist, and then she was gonna go and run errands. And and also let me just say once again, thank you, Dr. C Cat and your staff. You guys are the best. I'm a patient for life, everything is working great. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you. So um so Lauren had gone off to run errands, and so I texted Lauren and said, Um, well, uh everything everything's done, you know. You can come back over here if you want to pick me up. Um and Lauren said, uh, I should be there in about 15 minutes. Well, you have to understand this is Vegas, and so you can gamble everywhere in Vegas. I've told you this before. You you you can gamble in gas stations and grocery stores and all over the place. So, right next to the dentist office is this place called Lola's, and it is a gambling spot. I I I wouldn't even call it a casino exactly. You have these oddball places around Las Vegas where it's like you walk in and there's a room that is um kind of like a a really big living room, and and it's just got you know like a dozen or so slot machines, and then there's a bar there, and you just can go in and gamble, uh you know, electronic slot machines, of course, uh, and then uh they have a bar there, and usually they'll give you a free drink or something, and in some cases they might give you a bag of potato chips, or you could possibly order a simple food, like uh maybe a pizza, like a microwave pizza. But anyway, so so they have these like I don't know what you would call them, they're not casinos, but they're just like miniature gambling joint that you'll find. So there was this one next to the dentist office, and I it's called Lola's, and I said, I'll I'll be at Lola's. So pick me up there, please. So I went over to Lola's, and uh I figure, okay, I got 15 minutes to kill here before Lauren uh comes. And uh so I opened my wallet and I didn't have that much cash, but I I I go, well, uh I'm gonna put $60 in this uh machine. It's it's called a buffalo machine. They're very, very popular if you have a casino and you nearby. I uh I bet you have a buffalo machine. So I go over to this uh Buffalo machine, I put 60 bucks in it to kill some time because the max bet on this machine is two dollars. So I hit uh two dollars oh three or four times, and then boom, I get a bonus, and this bonus turns into uh re-triggers, meaning that when you get a bonus, you get free games, but then within those free games, you can keep getting bonuses which trigger new free games, and this thing just kept triggering and triggering and triggering uh like I think like a hundred and fifteen, a hundred and sixteen times. It took forever. This it just kept going and going and going and going and going. So when everything was done, uh, and it was just and and Lauren got stuck in traffic, so she actually ended up being there uh uh a little later than she thought, but you know, it it kind of worked out to be you know like 20 minutes after after I got there. I cashed out, and you know what my uh my profit was on that buffalo machine? Two hundred and seven uh three hundred and seventy dollars. So I had just gone to the dentist and spent three hundred and seventy dollars for my procedure, and then I walked after that over to Lola's to kill time, and I won three hundred and seventy dollars and exactly paid for my procedure. What the fuck are the chances of that? And I you know, I have so many stories that are kind of similar to that, like just amazing synchronicities that that that have been happening in my life lately. I'll tell you one, I I was gonna wrap up the podcast with that and be like, okay, there you go. See you later, folks. There's my big big ending that I I I went I went through this dental procedure and it cost this much and I won that much. But I here okay, we'll call this a bonus. I'll tell you one more story. So I have way, way too much shit, uh, like possessions, because you know, I I own well, I used to own a museum for one thing, and uh I I'm always like collecting interesting things and putting them in exhibits and on display. And in fact, I'll I hopefully I'll have some kind of big news for you in in the near future about something I just acquired. But uh, so here in Nevada, uh I had two storage units uh full of interesting and strange things. And but they were on the other side of town where I used to live before I bought my new house. And so Larn and I decided to buy a new storage unit for that stuff on this side of town, and we found out that we we were able to get a storage unit here that was bigger than the other two combined, and yet it cost less money. Than the other two combined. All right. So we needed to uh to move everything from the uh the two storage units on the other side of town to this new storage unit on this side of town. And and you know, I again this might be a boring story for you, but again, if if you're listening to this, I'm presuming you know, you don't have shit to do. So I'm just keeping you informed here and entertaining you. So, okay, so we got this new storage unit. And this storage unit that's near our new house is in this giant building that's oh, I'd say at least three stories tall. Uh there's no telling how many individual units there are inside this building. And when Lauren and I went over there a few weeks ago to get this new uh storage unit, you know, it was a slow day. This is not a very busy side of town where we live. And uh we were the only people, like the only customers there, as far as we could tell. And uh so we got our storage unit, it was on the second floor, and uh so the lady who was working there, she she took us to our storage unit. And if you've ever rented a unit in a place like that, it's it's like a big maze, like it's super confusing. You know, everybody jokes about it being scary, like you should film a horror movie in a store in a storage unit building because it's just like totally confusing. So anyway, she the the lady working there, she took us to our storage unit, and as we're standing there, another woman comes up, and she has the storage unit directly beside ours. And we were like, that's amazing. Like if this whole giant place, like nobody else is here, and you are here, and you have this this uh storage unit that's that's right next to ours. And so we're kind of laughing and and marveling over that. But in the back of my mind, I was thinking, like, well, I mean, may maybe there's a more logical explanation, like they're they sell these things in particular areas at a certain time. And you know, I'm just thinking, like, maybe maybe there's an explanation for it, right? You you get what I'm saying. Fast forward. That was weeks ago. So yesterday, before my tooth chipped, um Lauren and I got together with day uh with uh Jason Surachi. And uh Jason Suraci, he's uh one of the world's greatest UFO videographers. I won't get into that right now. And so uh so Jason, he's helping us all day long move stuff from our other two storage units across town into this new one, right? So what we did first is we went to one storage unit, we had a U-Haul, we got everything, and then we went to another storage unit, we had a U-Haul, we got everything. And so then we came to our new storage unit, and we were there less than an hour unloading stuff into our storage unit. And once again, we are the only people in this building, and then we look over, and lo and fucking behold, guess what? The woman with the storage unit next to ours comes rolling in, and I and we're laughing, and I said, Do you live here? And she goes, The last time I was here was when you guys got your storage unit. And I'm like, What? What? And I I just couldn't believe it. And we we are all just, I mean, like, what are the chances of that? That that if you've kept up with what I'm telling you, you'll see that this is like the odds of this happening are so you know astronomical. I I said, are you with the CIA? Are you bugging this unit and spying on, you know, we're we're laughing and and and that kind of thing. Um one thing that was interesting is that uh in her storage unit, you know, we glanced in there and she had a gigantic telescope. And so I asked her why she had such a big telescope. I was being a little bit nosy. And uh she said that uh she loves looking at the sky and all things astronomical, and so I told her about I was like, well, this is Jason Sarachi here, who is Skywatch master, you know, on History Channel and Travel Channel. And I told her to go to VegasUFOs.com and uh and look at the the footage there, the free footage at vegasufos.com. And um it was just so weird. It kind of goes back to like this phenomenon that I've talked about on Strange Things regarding how that so frequently in my life um I'll pull into a parking space and somebody will be adjacent to me also parking, getting in or out. And uh that that especially happens when I come out and I'm getting in my car. Almost every time I go to get in my car, there's somebody who also is getting in or out of a car right next to my car. And you have to understand that here in Las Vegas, parking lots are often huge. There's a lot of space here, a lot of space. And so whether it's like a strip mall or a casino, I mean, you have these parking lots that can practically hold, you know, a thousand cars, I guess. And yet every single time I pull in or out of a space, it's like you look around the rest of the parking lot, and that and that's not happening. Only next to my car, somebody is is pulling in or out, or there's some action right next to my car. It makes you start thinking of like some Truman show matrix level shit. And I and I still don't really know how to make sense of that and and how to properly explain it. Honestly, I don't. But um, I guess the point that I'm making here is that look sometimes your your life feels good, and sometimes your life feels shitty. But one way or another, if you're able to sort of step outside of your life and try to look at it objectively, there does seem to be a design. There does seem to be some kind of a pattern. And if if if that's the case, then that means it's not just chaos, and that means that you have some kind of an opportunity to influence that design or that pattern and to shape things. Because if there were no design or pattern, well then you'd just be screwed. You know, everything would just be blowing in the wind, and you'd you'd just be like, ah, I'm here for the ride, you know, I have no control. But when you see evidence of a design and a pattern, well then that that allows you to start thinking about how you can how you can uh manipulate that design or that pattern. And uh I guess that's the the the hopeful message here. Uh I could go on and on and on talking to you about synchronicity, but uh I think at this point, if you're listening to me right now, then you probably already know what the hell I'm talking about. And uh but I I think it's also kind of dangerous if you forget it. Like you need to be reminded of that once in a while, because if you forget it and you start thinking about entropy and you start thinking about everything descending into chaos, well then you just like give the fuck up and you just start you know reinforcing that, and all that does is help to introduce more chaos into your life. But when you just stop and center yourself and try to step outside yourself and be objective for a moment and remember the amazing synchronicities that you have experienced, not just stories you're hearing from me, like these stories can help reinforce that for you, but think about your own life, like these amazing I I know that you've had these things happen to you, surely you've noticed them. That is that is a time for you to again recenter, reorient, and say, okay, things seem like they're spinning out of control, but I know that it doesn't have to be that way. There is an order here, and I'm a part of that order, and then you have to start influencing that order. And if you're having trouble with that, uh getting back on track, listen, uh, I am giving away right now my book, Use the Force, a Jedi's Guide to the Law of Attraction for free. The ebook version, all you have to do is go to joshuapwarren.com and uh go to the Curiosity shop. You'll find all kinds of interesting things there. And I'll never know that you did it. I mean, it's just you know, I'm just giving this away. Um use that book and and recenter yourself. And um I think that's one of the coolest things that I can tell you as uh we're moving into this new year 2023. Uh because the world is always gonna be, you know, a whirling dervish. But uh you can tap into that symmetry, to that design, and and get your own shit together. And uh yeah, I mean it's like at least when bad stuff happens or when crazy things happen, uh you've got that to fall back on as well, you know, to like to help you to keep your shit together. So I guess that's my story for now. I'm sticking to it. Um okay, joshuapee Warren.com.
