You know, you live in Western North Carolina, and that is where I was born and grew up. And years ago, when I was living at the top of a hill in Western North Carolina, we had this terrible blizzard. And I was unprepared for it, and my power was out for, I don't know, like two weeks or something like that. It was miserable. I mean, I I at some point, as soon as I could get away from the house, I ended up actually uh staying at at a friend's house until that the power was restored. After that, I decided I was gonna go out and buy myself a generator. So I got uh you know, I went to Lowe's or whatever, and I bought like the best gasoline-powered generator that they had. And I thought I was offset. And it turns out it was such a pain to use that thing. I mean, for one thing, they're big and heavy and clunky, and then you got to go to the gas station and get your fuel. And here I was hauling this fuel up up this hill. And then finally, when I needed it, I would have to go outside, and sometimes it was very difficult to crank this thing and start it up and uh to adjust the choke and all that. And then when it started operating, it was loud and it was smelly, and there was always, you know, there are always dangers and hazards. And at that point, I said, you know what? I think that a solar generator would be a thousand times better than this. Uh I mean something that works in harmony with Mother Nature, that's quiet, that is you know highly efficient. So you and I started talking and uh I said, Mobia, I want you to to do some research here and try to figure out how to create not just a solar generator that's uh uh effective, I want the best solar generator in the world, and one that's super simple to use, which is why you know the name Sunshine Simple occurred to me. And you jumped on it and you started working on this project, and um you said that we'd even kind of talked even before that about creating a device like that one day, and then that blizzard was the big impetus for for me, right?

You could not get your generator to start. Boy, do I remember this phone call. You said, I'm freezing my butt off. I'm over here, the generator, I'm pulling the crank, it's just not starting. It's so cold that it's ineffective, and you're supposed to be Mr. Technology, so you need to make this device and you need to make it a reality. And I accepted that as a really good challenge. And one month later, you indeed you had this in your house, and you said, My God, this looks like and I take this as a compliment. It just came out of a Fortune 500 company. This is perfect. I'm just amazed. So you were pretty happy about it. And one of the favorite stories that you told me was later on, you took this down and you had it with you in the islands, and lo and behold, you were having power outages and hurricanes, and you did a live event completely powered by Sunshine Simple for the lighting, the streaming, and the connectivity. And I thought that was the coolest thing that you had power on an island that was in the dark, and you were able to do that. So that is the epitome to me of why this product is cool. You know what?

We also uh let me just jump in here and say the Sunshine Simple has continued to be a part of my life all these years. Like you said, I I that was my go-to uh in Asheville after all the blizzards would come or anytime the power was out. No, but we have people that have saved family members' lives. Yeah. I will simply use the name Ann. And not long ago, I actually drove to South Carolina and did a service call and updated her to the newest unit, but her mom had some health issues, and she was snowed in down there, and she was able to get emergency response when she lived in the middle of nowhere, no power, no communications, other than her cellular and internet, and it kept her online and kept her like connected. So it saved her mom's life, and that is one of my favorite stories. But we've actually we've sold at at this point of the original unit, you know, somewhere around about a thousand units. I think we lost count at some point, and it may be impossible to figure out with them coming and going, but this is like this became a really popular product, and it is our own creation. There is nothing exactly like it in the whole world. And at this point, going back in time to our first conversation, we were in a yard with a very famous person that wrote something, a very strong book about this subject. And you said to me, You said, This is the first seed. You said you need to create technology that could provide power and communications and everything after this EMP that is in the book, and that it would create a completely different outcome. So that was the first seed. And so now this has an EMP kit that if things get, you know, iffy, or you know, you're suddenly like hearing some weird nuclear, you know, EMP kind of stuff that it's assumed to be the the the most likely first kind of nuisance attack, but it would be devastating. You can put this in an EMP cage and it will survive, and you will have power and nobody else. So at this point, I say to you, the challenge was accepted and met for this conference. What is it almost 20 years ago we had this conversation? So today, this technology now exists and you can buy it. So challenge accepted and done.

Well, you know, um you have always been the real expert when it comes to this subject, and you are now the owner of the Sunshine Simple Company. And when I because it in the beginning, we were kind of working together on things, and finally I said, you know what, Mobius, you're the guy who really understands this technology. Uh so you took the company and from there, you really took it to a new level because uh the thing that people can appreciate when they buy one of these or if they're thinking about buying one is that they can talk to you personally, the owner of the company. And like you said, you've made all these improvements with the uh the the Faraday cage and the uh uh EMP blocking technology. Um and I mean people can actually ask you to customize the thing for them, but also let's save you some time and trouble. Okay, I consider most of the people that sell solar technology to be inherently dishonest. They don't tell you something you need to know. Really, any type of heating or cooling using an electric source, while your power bill jumps in the middle of the winter if you have electric heat or you have the air conditioning on, your power bill zooms one way, you know, up on either side of the cycle. I don't ever recommend any type of solar technology for heating or cooling. Now, using a fan, that that is different. But when you're talking about, you know, you're not gonna hook this up to your water heater, you're not gonna hook up an air conditioner, I don't recommend running a microwave. Doing all these things can be done with gas and be done very efficiently. But the other thing I can't control, and I don't like anybody who suggests that this is a plan for backing up, say, a refrigerator. And the reason being is I cannot control the weather. So, yes, if you have a power outage, you can that night run your refrigerator. But if the next day or the next day or the next day is cloudy, no, you can't. I cannot overcome that. So it is not a long-term solution for cooling for that regard. And I try to be very honest in every promise you make to anybody that buys it, it has to be met, or else you're inherently being deceptive, and you're not telling people what they need to know. So we we probably have lost self by just being so blatantly honest to people's expectations of what you can and cannot do. But when you have no power, you know, it's kind of like Anne was in South Carolina. You're essential communications lighting, all the things that you would need in your household, are you streaming? Yeah, this can do it, and it can do it long term. And you know, you you keep cycling through the power of recharging. So you need to be able to go three days without recharging to know that you're safe for a long-term power plan, and that is the goal. But with very realistic expectations, I tell people what you can and cannot do. And I don't think anybody else is nobody else really does that. They give blatantly deceptive expectations.

Well, you know, I came up with the name Sunshine Simple because I think that um this whole concept of solar power is still intimidating to a lot of people. And one of these Sunshine Simple generators is plug and play. You get the thing, it's it when it arrives, I mean, it kind of looks like uh like a computer case or something like that. And um you just you have your solar panel, you plug and the panel comes with it, of course, uh, you plug the panel into the machine, and then uh you just put the panel in the sun and uh it charges it up, and then you can just plug your devices directly into this box. And that way, when the power would go out, sometimes I would just plug what I needed to run into the generator and uh it would power it without me even having to use the solar panel. You only use the solar panel if you've you're at a an emergency and you can't charge the device any other way. Um so yeah, those are options as well. Yeah, let me add one thing, and you know this to be true.
