Hello, I am Joshua P. Warren, and this is Joshua P. Warren Daily. And I know I often will start the podcast by saying you're just not gonna believe all the shit that's been that I've been experiencing over the past few days, but it's true. That's just how it is. I mean my life sometimes when I'm about to leave a podcast, it it's almost like I kind of dread it because I'm like, I'm gonna forget something. You know, there's just too much stuff that's been packed into every single day. So, but you know, obviously I figure I I gotta give you an update. And so I'm gonna do my best. I'm gonna try to sort of break this down and tell you what's been happening. Now, you know, this past Friday night, I was asked to open up the Shockfest in Las Vegas, along with Nick Weird, with the Creepy Vegas Ghost and UFO show. And Shockfest is it's a huge event. They rented out an entire hotel, the Artisan Hotel, and transformed it into the Hotel Paranormal for the weekend. And uh we had a nice big crowd and everybody enjoyed it, everybody had a wonderful time. I had friends that came into town, Corby Waste, you know, Corby, you know, he works for NASA. He came in from Los Angeles, and uh let me tell you something. I hung out with Corby this whole past weekend, and anybody who can hang with me for three days in Vegas is a tough son of a gun. All right, but we talked about everything under the sun, and we got into some just like really honest, crazy, deep, weird, strange conversations and went down all the rabbit holes. And he can go anywhere with you, you know. It's like he has that imagination, and so I really enjoyed hanging out with Corby for the show. We had Darren Evans there, Mr. Zozo, along with his lady Danae. They just had uh a baby, a healthy baby boy named Zach. So congratulations to them. This was kind of one of the first nights that they could really go out and have uh an evening to themselves now that you know the everything is uh transpired properly with the baby, and that's all sort of under control now. And of course, uh I ask uh Darren and Corby to participate in the program and you know add some content about creepy dolls or whatever else. So, anyway, it was it was a big, uh really fun, exciting weekend. I didn't want it to end. You know, it's one of those things like man, it's uh you you you really do want to just take advantage of all the fun stuff you can do in this city, and that means sometimes you stay out till seven o'clock in the morning, right? So I'm a little sleep-deprived, but anyway, there was a lady there who I actually met her in person for the first time last Halloween. Her name is Irene, and I met her because I went over to the Las Vegas Oddity Shop, and Irene is an artist who works with human body parts, and we shot, you know, this news segment for Fox 5 News, a Halloween segment about the fact that that location is haunted. And Irene has had experiences there, and so she was on that news segment, but I didn't get to talk to her a lot uh because we were just so busy, and so but she came out for the event and I got to talk to her quite a bit. She actually was wearing uh three different necklaces, at least, that each had a human body part. So one had a piece of a child's skull, and then one had a piece of a man's skull, and then one had uh, I believe a man's rib, and uh she had a a necklace, like a choker of human skin on. I mean, and I I'm telling you, if you meet this lady, she's just the most lovely, sweet little, you know, she's just a very friendly, warm, smiling person. You'd never believe this woman has a workshop that probably looks like Leatherface's house, you know. I mean, uh there's no telling the stuff that that she has. And she was I I mean, I'm just amazed that she put so much like effort into turning human body parts into art. Her stuff sells for thousands and thousands of dollars. As a matter of fact, why I'm thinking of this, Las Vegas Oddities is gonna have to change locations by the end of this year, and they want to reduce the amount of stuff they have to move. And yesterday I talked to Vanessa, who owns the shop, and she said she has a fully articulated human skeleton that she is ready to sell. It's not on a stand, but it's fully articulated, so my understanding is that means it's all sort of it's attached, and you know, and um and I said, Well, I'm gonna help you sell this thing because I know you want to have a little extra money to help you with your move and everything. So if any of you are listening and you're interested in a fully articulated human skeleton, uh, I will put you in touch with Vanessa. And I believe that she's asking somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000 US dollars for that. Um so, but who knows? Maybe, maybe if uh you contact her, she'll she'll cut you some slack. I don't know. So you just go to contact uh or email me, contact at josh whoopee warren.com, contact at joshwhoopeeren.com, and let me know if you're interested in the skeleton. So anyway, I was talking to Irene about all of these really weird subjects, and Irene told me something that is really just oh chilling. She said that she goes, do you know what a moody is? M-U-T-I. And I said, No, but I bet Lauren does, because Lauren knows more about animals than anybody else that I know. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of animals, and I assume that a moody is probably some kind of animal. She goes, No, no, no, no, it's not an animal. She said that in certain remote parts of Africa they have this horrifying ritual where they take a child and they murder it, okay? They kill this kid very slowly because the louder it screams, the better. And as they are killing the kid, they're whispering in its ear what they want fulfilled. So this is, I mean, you can envision it kind of like a sacrificial type of deal. So the idea is you're whispering into this kid's ear, Well, I want a better job, or I, you know, I want to heal this. Whatever. Maybe it's pretty mundane. I I think she was saying that this happens a lot. You whisper into the child's ear the thing that you want as you are slowly murdering the child. And then uh and again, I guess you know it doesn't have to be a child, but that's probably preferable, and then after that you dismember the sacrifice and you turn it into jewelry, you turn it into garments. And she actually said that she had an opportunity to to wear one of these necklaces with these human body parts on it. And it was a finger and a couple of testicles. So there is some truly horrific shit that goes on out there in this world, and she is just a wealth of of knowledge when it comes to all kinds of bizarro things. So at some point I gotta have her on this podcast and do a proper interview with her and have her just tell some of these stories. So, okay, I'm just getting started here, folks. Alright. You know, John Zapphis was there over the weekend, and I've known John Zapphys for many, many years. I interviewed him a long time ago on my Speaking of Strange radio show. But the thing is, I I usually don't get a lot of time to sit down with John Zapfus because we usually run into each other at conferences, and so he's busy doing stuff, and I'm busy doing stuff, and there is always people coming up and wanting to talk to you. And so usually, you know, we're almost like ships passing in the night. But we actually were able to snatch more time than I've ever had with John Zapfus the other day and have some good conversations with him. And I I really enjoyed talking to him. And as a matter of fact, um we talked about some some stuff that I I thought was pretty heartfelt and uh personal that I'll I'll just sort of keep private. I mean, we we both had a friend, a mutual friend, who passed away recently, and we talked a little bit about that. And uh but we just had we just had a really nice conversation, and so I'd like at some point to have an opportunity to to go see his collection. You know, he's the haunted collector, right? But the big the big story of the event was that Clive Barker was gonna be there. Now you know Clive Barker is an Englishman. He created Hellraiser and Penhead. I mean, he directed the movie Hellraiser. He's not just a writer, and he's written a bunch of books, he also directed the movie Hellraiser. And he and he created Candyman and Nightbreed, and this guy has just taken his nightmares and turned them into something that's commercially viable. And one thing that I find especially interesting about Clyde Barker is that, and I'm sure I've mentioned this already on the podcast, it's not very often in your life that you get an opportunity to meet anybody who has created a world famous character. To me, that is a form of tulpa. You come up with this thing in your head and you put it out there, and for some reason it catches on to such an extent that everybody knows what it is. So I think that, you know, 90% of the time you walk into uh a town on this planet and you say, You know Pinhead, they're gonna know what you're talking about. They know Pinhead. And even though it's creepy and it's spooky, I mean, still it's a character that caught on and became world famous. It's a very successful, effective Tulpa. You cannot go into a haunted house attraction around Halloween and just this country without somebody being dressed up as Pinhead. As a matter of fact, you know, I used to interview the guy every year on my radio program, Speaking of Strange, who owned Pinhead's Graveyard, which was an outdoor, like a haunted outdoor attraction in western North Carolina that they would do every year, and I'm sure they're still doing it. It's hugely successful, and it's Pinhead's Graveyard. So I was really looking forward to meeting Clive Barker. He is 67 years old, if I'm not mistaken. He's he's getting so he's you know he's getting close to 70. And I knew that he was having health problems because when he was big in the 80s and 90s, he would occasionally do interviews, and he always actually looked kind of like a beefy, healthy looking dude. But then I saw a YouTube video that a fan posted from some event not too long ago, and um and he he he looked completely different. And so and I mean he looked like he was he was frail, you know, he was weak and frail is what he looked like. And so he was gonna be doing a signing last Saturday at 3 p.m. in the lounge in the well, the lobby, the lobby of the hotel. So I went over there and I stood in line, and uh I was probably like fourth or fifth, you know, from from the front of the line, and there really weren't that many people there, to be honest with you. There was probably like you know, twenty, twenty-five people. It was not a huge big crowd. Um and so uh we're waiting and waiting and waiting, and it gets to be almost four o'clock, and no Clyde Barker. So we've been I mean, I'm standing there for an hour, you know, like wondering what's going on here. Behind the table uh is this guy who is uh feverishly checking his cell phone, and at some point he mentions that he is Clyde Barker's manager, and his name is Chris. And so I uh start talking to him a little bit, and he said that he also used to manage George Romero, and he manages Malcolm McDowell, of course, from Clockwork Orange, and he goes, and then some other people like that one right there, you know, and kind of chuckles. And I look over, and standing next to me is this lady who looks like she's in her early 70s or thereabouts, and I swear to you, when I first looked at her, she looked a hell of a lot like Margot Kidder. You know, Lois Lane from Superman or you know, the the female lead from the Amityville horror, looked a hell of a lot like Margot Kidder. So I said, but I but I wasn't sure who she was, so I said, Well, hi, I'm Joshua, what's your name? And she said, I'm Eileen Dietz. And as soon as she said that, I recognized the name Eileen Dietz, but I couldn't quite it just I couldn't put it together right there on the spot. So anyway, I just talked to her for a little bit, and then of course when I got an opportunity, I looked it up and I was like, ah, that's why I recognize that name. Eileen Dietz was the actress in the movie The Exorcist, who actually played the more like extreme portions of the demonic face. So obviously Linda Blair was, you know, she was a child at when that movie was being made, and she was the main star of that. But they would have these moments when like Pazuzu or whatever, the demon would really come out there and show its face, and they used her for this, which is kind of weird because she's not like a scary-looking woman, you know, but they they put a lot of makeup on her. And then also, um, if you're a real like movie buffer or whatever, or TV buff, uh, it says here on her page that she was is also known for being in the soap operas Guiding Light and General Hospital. My mother used to watch General Hospital when I was a kid. Um, so but still, Eileen Dietz. So I got to meet her. I didn't even know who I was meeting at the time. So then finally the elevator doors open, and out comes a person rolling a wheelchair, and sitting in this wheelchair is this frail, little fragile looking man, and this is Clive Barker. And it was kind of funny because even as we were waiting for Clive Barker to come out, his manager mentioned that, well, he has diabetes and he has to eat at certain times of day. So I don't know what his health problems are. But uh so he they they they they wheeled him over there behind the table, and he was there was just a really warm, great aura around the guy. He was so pleasant, and I was actually in an uh an unusual position, and that's because okay, that day I went over to the event by myself, and that was because that a lot of times Lauren stays up all night and she's binge watching stuff and everything, and she'll sleep, you know, later into the day. And I told her, I said, well, if I said, I I might go over there tomorrow, you know, when Clive Barker's doing his signing, and she goes, Yeah, yeah, that's fine. So I knew I was going to be drinking and everything, so I just took an Uber over. And I I knew that when I got there, they would have posters and all this kind of big stuff for sale that you could buy. But I didn't want to carry around some kind of big thing. So I actually got on my computer and I found the original Hellraiser poster, and I just printed it out on a little slip of paper. And when I got there and it was about my turn in line, I told his manager, I said, Uh, I just have this little thing, and he goes, What is that? You know, he wanted to see it. And I said, It's just a little Hellraiser poster, and he goes, Okay. And so I gave his manager some money. And uh so then I get up there, and Clive Barker, he'd been signing posters, and he even had artwork artwork there. I think the the he had some sketches that cost like 600 bucks, and then some of his paintings were going for thousands of dollars, and there was also a silent auction where they were auctioning off some of his artwork for all the money to go to the SPCA Society for the prevent prevention of cruelty to animals. So he's a charitable man. So, but his manager's like, okay, that's fine. So, because I figure, well, this is something he can sign that's actually unique, because this is just something I printed out on my computer, and then I can put this in my pocket the rest of the day when I'm hanging out, and I don't have to carry some big thing around. So I went up there and here he is with the Sharpie, and uh I uh when I'm talking to him, and I uh you know I didn't have like a huge conversation with the guy, but I said, you know, thank you for your imagination and your creativity and all these amazing things that you have put into the world, you know, and he was really nice and shook my hand and everything was cool, and I said, I'm not in a position to carry something big around, so I'm wondering if you'd please sign that for me. And I also handed him my ink pen. And he said, Why sure, you know, so he signed that and gave me the thing and the pen back. And uh so anyway, we chatted about a couple other things, shook my hand again, and I moved along. And not too long after that, you know, the event was over, he vanished, that was it, that was his appearance. So I have this unusual little thing, you know, that Clive Barker signed, and I have the pen that he signed it with. So I I'm gonna put all that stuff into a nice little shadow box, and that'll just be something really cool, you know, that I a cool a cool memory that I I got to meet somebody who created such a powerful Tulpa and how interesting it is that he you know, again, he created this terrifying, nightmarish, you know, all this fucking Hellraiser shit is just scary as as all get out. But he was just like a really warm dude. And I don't know what his health problems are other than diabetes, but I wish him the best. You know, he was a great presence, and I felt very honored to have met him. So I've been going through all this, meeting a lot of people, hearing a lot of interesting stories, also getting geared up for Thanksgiving. And again, I know there are people who listen to this podcast all over the world. Uh so you may or may not be celebrating Thanksgiving wherever you are, or if you are, it might not be at this period of time. This is Tuesday where I am, and Thursday is going to be Thanksgiving. And so and of course it's just, you know, it's a big feast, is what it is, and and it's it harkens back traditionally to the idea of camaraderie between some of the European settlers in this country, we call them the pilgrims, and the Native Americans. That's what it's supposed to symbolize. So I've been reading a little bit about food, and I you know, th this is totally out of the blue, this is kind of weird and random. But I figured, well, this might be my last podcast before Thanksgiving. 'Cause I have a lot of stuff going on. I actually had a conference call today about a new T V series. That is looking really good, so more to come on that. Um I bought this book, and it's called True Facts That Sound Like Bullshit. True Facts That Sound Like Bullshit. And then the subtitle is 500 Insane But True Facts That Will Shock and Impress Your Friends. And then there's a little seal on it that says Stomp Everyone. And I love this thing because I just got it today. It's just one or two sentences, fact after fact after fact. So obviously I'm going to be sharing some of this stuff with you in future podcasts. But I opened it up and I thought this was this was interesting because when I opened it, the first thing I saw was a little drawing of a beaver. And it said, Beaver's butts taste like vanilla. Okay, now beaver is a big rodent, you know, they built dams. Beaver dam. It's like the other day I was in the car with an Uber driver, and I said something about lions, and he goes, I don't know, I don't know what that is. What's a lion? I was like, Yeah, a lion. He goes, What is a lion? I said, you know, it's a big cat with all the hair, it goes and he goes, Oh, yeah, a lion. Yeah, MGM lion. So if there's a language barrier, you may not know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about a beaver, which is it's like a big rodent with a big flat tail, and they make dams out of logs. And they're amazingly talented. But who knew that their ass tastes like vanilla? You see, like, I don't know how what radio programs or what podcasts that you listen to, but I bet you nobody else has ever told you that a beaver's ass tastes like vanilla. And look, I'm not saying that I fact check this even. I'm just telling you what the book says. And it says, true, well, sort of. Beavers secrete a substance from their anal glands that is used in artificial vanilla flavoring. Now, again, I have not dug deeper into this, but as soon as I read that, I thought, well, does that mean that they're using uh beaver anal secretions for vanilla? Or it just happens to be the same thing that's used in vanilla flavoring, but comes from a source other than a beaver's ass. I don't know. I don't know. Again, I I I could look that up for you more deeply, but if you care that much about it, I've given you the tools that you need to do your own independent research on that. Food stuff. You never know what you're eating. Can you imagine? You know, I I go to restaurants a lot. It'd probably horrify you if you really saw some of the shit that you've been eating. You know you've probably heard they say you swallow at least 50 spiders in your life just in your sleep. Now I don't know. I mean, stuff like that, you can't say that universally, but there's probably something to it. You probably swallowed at least one spider then. So I was uh I was looking at like really indulgent foods and everything, and I started reading about Elvis Presley. They call him the king of rock and roll. He died when he was forty-two years old, you know, Elvis Presley. I'm now older than Elvis. There's something to be said for that, isn't it? You you grow up as a kid and you look up to somebody and you say, Oh man, yeah, that's like a pop culture icon, and then all of a sudden you say, Shit, that person did everything in less time less time than I've been alive. Elvis Presley, 42 years old when he died of a massive heart attack, and yeah, you know they were giving him all kinds of drugs because he had to uh I mean he he was just lavishing everybody with gifts. And he had to maintain that. There were so many people that started depending on him that they were pumping him with every kind of any substance that would just get his ass out there on stage and let him do his thing and keep the customers happy, and that's why you see some of those pictures of him, and he just looks like he's out of his mind. His eyes are just crazy looking. He when he died, based upon what I can find here, he was uh six feet tall and weighed three hundred and fifty pounds. Six feet tall, weighed three hundred and fifty pounds. And supposedly toward the end of his life, he well, he he all he loved to eat, okay? He just really loved and he ate delicious stuff. And there's this whole thing, you can look it up, it's like the Elvis diet. It's some of the favorite stuff you like to eat, and he had this private chef who was there at Graceland, like on call 24-7, to make whatever Elvis wanted. And so he got into this habit of supposedly every day he would get up and he would have they had this big fluffy, delicious 12-inch roll, and they would split it in half and they'd put a jar of peanut butter on it, and a jar of strawberry jam, and a pound of bacon, and it was forty thousand calories. Now they claim that like the average man doesn't need to consume more than about two thousand calories a day. So this had forty thousand calories on it, and guess what? He would eat two of them at the same time. And then later on in the day, he would always have little cheeseburgers and other little like fried things. So supposedly Elvis was eating over 100,000 calories per day. Uh, right when you know he was approaching death. And his last meal, I believe, was a cheeseburger. But listen to this. Now here's I here I just read this. I so I'm I I'm not gonna put my hands on a Bible and say this is true, but here's what I read on the Almighty Internet that the last meal that was made for Elvis by his chef, I think her name was Louise, I'm not sure about that, I I don't remember, was a big, juicy, delicious cheeseburger. But he never got to eat it. He went to the bathroom and had his heart attack and died. And the chef later claimed to somebody that after he died, he appeared to her as a ghost. And which of course, you know, shocked her, obviously, and he said something along the lines of, Can I just stay here with you? And she said, Yeah, that's fine. And then he smiled and disappeared, and she never saw him again. So I think I think Elvis was coming back for that cheeseburger, is what, you know, that's probably what happened. I don't know. I don't know, guys. That's the story. So I know when you're about to feast here on Thanksgiving, if you are in the US especially, uh, you might have this sense like, oh my god, I'm I'm I'm gonna feel like a pig. I'm gonna eat turkey and dressing and pie and all this. And trust me, it's uh for me, yeah, I I seriously I'm gonna go on a diet after this holiday season because being here in Las Vegas, you've got so much good food, every kind of food you could want. I can see why that on Thanksgiving you're thinking, oh boy, I'm gonna stuff myself and I'm gonna feel terrible. But probably, however much you stuff yourself on Thanksgiving, you're not gonna eat as much as Elvis was eating on a normal day for Elvis. And that's why uh I guess he died when he did. But anyway, or that's part of it. You know, they did an autopsy, of course. And you know how you always hear about like compacted feces? Uh, like somebody said John Wayne had like 65 pounds of compacted feces in his digestive system, and that's actually not true. They say that if you just have like a pound of compacted feces, it can put you in the emergency room. But Elvis did have an enlarged digestive tract, and there was some kind of like weird, kind of chalky substance on the inner lining, and they say that that came probably from some uh drug use, some stimulants that he was using uh that slowed his digestive process down and would and would constipate him, and that can lead over time to an enlarging uh intestinal system and all that. This is really appetizing for for your Thanksgiving, right? Put this on while you're having Thanksgiving dinner and see how the family reacts. Um, but anyway, look, I'm just reading about food. It's weird. I figured I'd share it with you. There you have it. I gotta wrap this up though. I have other shit going on. Uh listen, tonight, tonight, this is Tuesday, November the 26th, 2019, here on the Pacific, well, in the Pacific time zone of the US. Tonight, Steve Barone is going to be interviewed by Jimmy Church. And few months ago, I was on Jimmy Church's show, and I was talking about Steve Barone and UFOs over Las Vegas and all that sort of thing. And Jimmy said that he wanted to have Steve on, but then I didn't really hear anything for a while. Unfortunately, they were able to finally make contact and hook up, so tonight is the night. Steve Barone, the guy I'm always talking about, who sits on his deck at night on the western side of the Las Vegas Valley, documenting all this amazing phenomena. He is going to be on Jimmy Church's program tonight. And I believe it starts, let's see, I think it's 7 o'clock on the Pacific Coast, like 7 o'clock California time and 10 o'clock New York time. So like 10 o'clock East Coast. But if you want to see the schedule and your options for listening, just go to JimmyCurchRadio.com. Now I'm going to be interviewing Steve soon, also. We have plans for me to interview him, I think, next week. Um, but Jimmy's got him first, and let me tell you, if you've never listened to a Jimmy Church interview, Jimmy is one of the most like intelligent, insightful interviewers you've ever listened to. He really pays attention to what the guest is saying. And he he he's got great logic, but he also finds these sort of imaginative twists that you can sort of play with. And he's just a wonderful interviewer. Like a lot, you know, I get interview people interview me all the time. And most of the time, when I get interviewed by somebody, I'm kind of expecting the same old stuff. How'd you get into this? And what's the strangest thing you've ever seen? And all the but I know when I go on Jimmy Church's show, it's gonna be different. That you better really have your facts and your details together because he is gonna be on there for a long time with you, and he is gonna want to really get to the bottom of it. So Jimmy Churchradio.com, Jimmy ChurchRadio.com tonight to hear Steve Baron. I'm definitely gonna be tuning in for that. So listen, I have lots of uh wonderful and amazing things going on. I've got some projects happening that I can't tell you about yet. I will be telling you about soon.
