frame what happens in the New Testament, which is Jesus coming and fulfilling that prophecy. 00:04:22.673 --> 00:04:32.471 And so Acts 4 finds us in the place after Jesus has already ascended to heaven, and now the disciples and everyone else has gathered in what we would call today church. 00:04:32.471 --> 00:04:45.170 This is kind of like the first experience of modern day church as we get into the book of Acts after Jesus has ascended, and so we're going to do a little bit of reading today, acts 4. 00:04:45.170 --> 00:04:47.240 1 through 12. 00:04:47.240 --> 00:04:52.185 And it reads After Jesus ascends to heaven, they go out and they just do the stuff that Jesus told them to do they heal someone, and now they're in trouble because they've healed someone. 00:05:07.007 --> 00:05:24.591 The Sadducees were greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead, and they arrested Peter and John and put them in custody revelation of mercy I get from him today is going to be different from the revelation of mercy I get from him tomorrow. 00:14:11.171 --> 00:14:18.448 Every morning that was my surprised voice. good news outside of this building, and then oftentimes our prayers are something like this God give me boldness to be a good witness at work. 00:14:48.788 --> 00:14:54.115 God, give me courage to say something and to preach the good news. 00:14:54.115 --> 00:15:01.455 And when I say preach, we're not saying that you would stand on a pulpit with a microphone and preach, but you would proclaim the
