you did some things that you now regret because you didn't want to be lonely. 00:02:06.001 --> 00:02:15.062 Or maybe there was like a friend group, and you were like I want to be a part of that friend group, I want to be cool like them, and they were like hey, to be in our friend group, you need to do this or not do that. 00:02:15.062 --> 00:02:17.526 And you either did that or you didn't do that. 00:02:17.526 --> 00:02:34.191 And now you look back and you're like I should have done that or I should have done that and you did it because you wanted to be in that friend group or maybe, or maybe or maybe there was another situation in your life and you're like I don't know about that person, I don't know if I should be running with that person, I'm just, but I'm kind of lonely. 00:02:34.191 --> 00:02:40.330 So you start running with that person and then you look back and you're like why in the world did I run with that person? 00:02:40.330 --> 00:02:43.724 I'll tell you why Because you're lonely. 00:02:43.724 --> 00:02:50.026 It's interesting Even doctors doctors tell us that being lonely is actually bad for your physical health. 00:02:51.430 --> 00:02:54.965 They say it's 00:03:00.342 --> 00:03:10.393 God said, after he made creation and he made man, he looked at Adam and he was like dude, it's not good that you're alone, it's not good that you're by yourself. triggering word for some of us, that church can kind of be a loaded word for some of us. 00:04:08.752 --> 00:04:11.385 When I say the word church, you can have all kinds of things come to your mind. --> 00:04:22.786 Maybe you think of a band musicians, maybe you think of a pastor that teaches way too long and is kind of boring. 00:04:22.786 --> 00:04:28.776 We all have thoughts in our mind when it comes, when we hear the word church. 00:04:28.776 --> 00:04:35.189 But the word church actually comes from a Greek word and the word is ekklesia. 00:04:35.189 --> 00:04:38.086 Let's all say the your life, and when the ecclesia, though, is healthy and it's what God designed it to be it's going to be life-giving, it's going to be life-changing, and this takes us, actually, to 1 Corinthians, he's teaching them of this new concept, the ecclesia. 00:06:29.690 --> 00:06:37.932 He's saying as Jesus followers, you need to be a part of the ecclesia and this is what a healthy ecclesia looks the encouragement. 00:15:05.554 --> 00:15:13.703 He goes to Corinth, where these people, their thoughts of the church, is all over the place and he's like guys, guys, guys, guys, guys, the church is a learned that the church is not just this consumer mentality, but the church is for me to be a part of an interdependent body, and it's not because I'm the pastor, I'm just a part of the body here.
