Good evening, everybody. Listen, we are excited. We are continuing on in our series tonight. Um, if you was join if you joined us uh on our last segment, we are introducing a new series this year, and it's it's it's an awesome series. It's the fight for the soul. Amen. Fight for the soul, and we are excited to continue on. This is part two. So last week, just a short uh recap before we go into prayer. We were introducing in Genesis where God created man and he created man a triune being, meaning he gave him a body, a soul, and a spirit. Um, so this is where we're gonna pick up. So um we're here tonight. If you don't know who we are, I'm Pastor Davis. Bishop Beard. Bishop Beard is with me, and we're having a great time, having a great discussion. Amen. Uh, so we're gonna have Bishop pray and we're gonna go right into the word of God. Amen.

So uh we got an introduction of man being created, but tonight we want to talk about where it fell apart, where the enemy, how he attacked, and how we failed.

We must realize that all three was there. Working together, working together to make a perfect man, perfect relationship, perfect life, the whole nine yards. Everything was there. He gave us everything. That that's that dismissed, people say, Well, I feel incomplete, and this ain't there, and that ain't there. I feel like something missing. Amen. It's because, yeah, it is something missing. That's right. That's it. It is because when he created us, everything was there. Yeah, but something came in the midst of it and started that fight, and that's what we're gonna say. That if we know what the fight is, uh what happened, we can fight to get it back.

We study history, so we won't repeat it. Don't have to, amen. And we can teach it to our children that they don't have to go through that, they don't have to go through this fight, they don't have to go through this uh um fight by themselves. I'm gonna say it like that. And it's that they have that around it.

We can get the truth, we can get the truth, yeah. Because a lot of people are know it's a struggle, but they are confused on how to deal with this struggle. Amen. Uh so that's what we want to deal with. I I like I'll I'll just to reiterate what Bishop said, when man was made, he was made all whole, whole whole man, he had everything intact. That means he was filled with peace, love, joy. He didn't know any uh brokenness or sorry or sorrow or being overwhelmed, any of those things that come. All of that, he had no experience of any of that. He only felt fulfilled and felt purpose and felt love and joy and peace. He was living in that abundance of the fruit of the spirit, amen. Things that the spirit produced through the through the spirit, through the soul, through the body.

Uh so imagine this. When you have someone like this old serpent in the garden, the devil, looking at this whole man living in peace and joy, automatically you know that it uh what do we always say in this modern day? When you're doing well, you get haters.

When you're prospering and you're living your best life, there are gonna see come somebody watching you that cannot stand that you are living your abundant life. That's right.

That you are walking in fulfillment of God's word. So this is the devil. So we this is why we talk about the fight. So the devil, um, being smart as he is, and his own taxes, we're gonna get to the word, it's gonna break it down better. But we see his plan and how we want to watch what he did and how he was able to break this thing. That's right, break this connection and tear this thing apart to cause problems and issues in the life of man.

All right, amen. So if you will grab your Bibles and turn with me to Genesis chapter three, and we're gonna read a little bit. So you just follow along in your word or your cell phone or tablet, wherever you got. We always encourage get you a Bible. I I encourage get you a Bible because when you're reading on your phone phone in these modern times, you better have some paper and black black and white to back it up. Make sure it ain't changing nothing.

You need that. So, all right, so let's read Genesis chapter 3, verse 1. The scripture says, Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field, which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Ye have, yea, yea, has God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. First thing he did was question what she knows and understands about what God said.

Uh first of all, we know that the place of um of reasoning is the soul.

Yeah, we he she he tapped into the soul.

So that's his place. Not a body. Uh that's part, that's good because the soul is the door. That oh my God. The soul is the doorway, the only way to get in is through that soul. So that we that's why we gotta guard that that door. It's important. The soul is a doorway. So he immediately uh confronted her soul with some questions. He said, Um, yay, uh, hath God said ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Question it. Then in two, he said, and the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it lest you die. And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die. I I just I I look at this and I say, You know what? The the thing that this Satan always does is to attack truth.

He wants to make you believe a lie rather than the truth. And even if you don't readily believe the lie, when he can get you, your soul to start questioning.

That's that that's the that's the thing. That's the thing. And how many would agree with that? The minute he asks a question, she starts questioning. Come on, that's it. She had no reason to ever think that. Now questioning everything. Questioning. Ain't that the trick of the enemy? Question everything. Question everything. Is it are you sure about this? You sure about then you now think now your emotions and your thought patterns start to churning right to question the question, the thought of could it be possible that that is not the truth. Could it be possible that I won't die? At first I believed it. I believed that I won't die if I touched it, if I hate it, I'm gonna die. But the minute he said, You should not surely die, then you quit, well, will I die or not? Right. Who do I believe? Oh, come on now. The fight is on, people. He the he the immediate when he said that, it's it's a fight. Because where she where is it being channeled to? Her soul, right? The eternal being, the eternal part of you, that soul. So he is now channeling these thoughts through her soul.

Watch this. The the soul is the is the place of curiosity. All your curiosity comes from the soul, and the enemy is is using that curiosity as a gateway.

So the thing of it, this is the crazy part about the enemy that I've learned. He don't care what you believe as long as you don't believe the truth. That's it. So he'll give you anything except for the truth because he won't appeal to your curiosity. That's what are your options?

Curiosity, imagination, imagination, thought patterns, everything that says to say, maybe, maybe, maybe he is the author, maybe. Yes, he is. Oh, what if? Oh, what if you sure he loves anything because that's the author of confusion? Confusion. That's our we're saying, and you mean to tell me the fight started in the garden for now 2026 that we are now fighting? Right, yes, because he wants our soul, he wants that eternal part of us that says your soul is gonna spend eternity somewhere, right? So he wants to fight for it. And we're gonna show you in the scripture, and we're gonna read in the scripture how it's important. It is, it's important that your soul come on now because that's the eternal part of you. So now she is now questioning, and yeah, he and he is the author of confusion, and he loves uh discord. He wants to make sure.

Listen, let's look at that. That's a good word, Bishop, confusion, because the Bible clearly says he's a father of lies, the author of confusion. Come on, confusion only exists when you have so many ways you could go and you don't know which way to go. Which way to go. That's confusing. Yeah. So that lets us know that if you ever in your life, anytime you're in your life where you feel confused, you gotta be careful because that's a gateway for the enemy. He operates in confusion. He wants you to be confused. So beware of confusion. Yeah, be clear in your past. So this is where one well, this was Eve's first mistake. She gave herself to confusion. Instead of standing on what she knows God said and saying, No, God said this, and I believe it. She allowed curiosity, confusion to come in, and she started questioning. That's it. And started trying to figure out what she's gonna do now that she's confused and questioning that. So let's keep reading. Um now listen, let listen how Satan, what Satan is talking about. He's gonna tell you about God. This is something else. Uh for God does know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be open, and you shall be as look at that word, little geek, gods. He said, God knows that the day you eat, you're gonna, your eyes gonna come open, you're gonna be like gods.

So so uh it's like the devil trying to tell Eve one of God's secrets. Yeah, God keeping a secret. Yeah, yeah. He keeping some, he ain't telling you the whole story. Right. He just shared a little bit.

Ain't that so on Discord? Ain't that trying to come between your relationship?

Ain't that well, ain't that 20? That's every related. Look at the housewives. All they do is sell Discord. Look at anybody, anybody that wanna break up a relationship, all they gotta do is slow an element of Discord. There's a hidden secret somewhere, and now it's Discord. Now we have a problem. Now she questioned, did God was he holding back on us? He didn't tell us everything. Right now, he so he he telling lies.

Then accuse God of being a liar, yeah, holding back on and keeping secrets. False accusers. You gotta be careful with this stuff. This is how this is how that what we're trying to describe you is if you haven't realized yet, Eve's uh soul is being attacked. Her soul right there, she's under full attack. Adam ain't around, she by herself, and her soul is under attack. Under attack. Her soul is under attack. What does that mean? Confusion is coming in, questioning God coming in, trying to figure um questioning your relationship with God is coming in. All of these things are coming into the soul, playing on the soul. I love it, I love it. Now watch, watch this. Um six, and when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, watch how now we're gonna talk about another aspect of your being. Watch how her flesh came into play now. I look, the Bible says, and the woman saw, she looked with her eyes, that's the body. She looked with her eyes and saw that it was good for food. She knew it would feel it would taste good to her mouth and be good for her body. She's looking at it all through the eyes of flesh. So this is here's here it is, Bishop. Watch this. She is now allowing her flesh to be the determiner of where her soul goes, leads toward. So she got two options. Satan says, You can eat this, you're not gonna die, you're just gonna be wiser, you're gonna be like God's, like one of us, like I am. The God said, No, you touch it, you're gonna die. Two options. I don't know which one to do. Then she let her flesh make the decision.

Ain't that usually how it goes? Your soul, he's dealing with that soul, that emotion, that will, that soul, a man, to tell that flesh, all right, go ahead. It's fine, everything good. Come on now, not knowing that it is the death of your soul. It is the death of your soul. Because when the flesh leads the soul, it leads to death. Come on now. When the spirit leads the soul, it leads to life. Exactly. So now we are saying, how does she know it's good for food? How does she know it be good for food? Now it's sparking all this appetite for something she don't even have a appetite, a fleshly appetite.

An appetite for something she knows nothing about. That God said will kill you. Her flesh said it'd be good for food. Why?

Do you see how the world or today's life that the world has said it's good, it's good, it's fine, it's good for your flesh, and your flesh said, Oh, it's good. But he will never tell you it's the death of you. He will never tell you this is death. This is not life. This is not life, this is death. But Jesus said, I come that you might have life. Life. Life. He comes to steal, kill, and to destroy. Amen. Amen.

So this is so important in this. So we're going back, we haven't even left Genesis and realized the fight is on. The fight is on. It's on and it's on now. And it's on with your children and your children's children. Because the enemy knows if I can break that relationship, if I can break that spirit, that your spirit is spirit-led, and you resist the things of the devil, and you resist the will of your flesh, that you can be spirit and be successful. If I can break that by sowing discord and doubt and accepting all kinds of lies, we are in a society right now, it's full of lies. Right. And the enemy wants us to accept it.

We're quick and we won't move on, but I want you to just hear these lies because some of us we don't even realize that we repeat them. If it feels good, do it. Follow your heart, do what feels right. Come on, guys. Justify it. Yeah.

Uh-huh. People say, I thought it through and I made this decision. It's solely on the it's all soulish. And it's all flesh bound. And it's all fleshbound. See, many times people where people feel like this while the Bible talks about the heart being wicked and not following after your uh flesh, because whatever, this is the power of it. The soul is the place where uh causes you to think thing about things, but the driving forces behind those are either the flesh or the spirit. One way or the other, the soul is in the middle trying to make a decision. But either you can go off of what your flesh is saying, or you can go off of what the spirit is saying. I want to finish that six, and then we gotta move on. This is good to me. So six says, and when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat. So clearly we see that she based her truth off of what the flesh decided. The flesh wanted. And it looked like she did her mind, her soul went with the flesh and said, It will put it's good, it'll make me wise. But inside it, you let your soul choose sides with your flesh. Don't ever do that. My God, ever do that.

I hope this is clear to anybody. I I really do, you know, we're we're not here to bash anybody, we're not here to we want you to see what the word of God is saying to us. And that's everybody. Either you're gonna be flesh-led or spirit-led, spirit of God led. Either you're gonna obey, your soul is gonna obey one other two.

It's gonna obey one or two. This is so interesting to me, Bishop. Dell just caught that and I didn't even realize that. This happened to her before she even fell. The flesh, this is so interesting that she had been, she didn't fall yet. There's no sin nature yet. There's no sin done, but yet, and still the flesh would rather choose that lie than what God said, even when before. Fault. That means the the flesh is is the flesh is so uh driven by compulsions, you gotta be careful not to base no decisions on that. No, even before she had failed, the flesh could never be trusted because the flesh just looks at the outward and look at the I'm hungry. It's such a bare uh place to um make any decisions out of. It's like animals, they're flesh-led, their nature controls them, their body controls them. You can't be an animal, you are created in the image of God.

Come on now, and we supposed to be spirit-led, spirit-led beings. So if our flesh leads us, we leave to destruction. Well, the Bible speaks about corruption, corruption, amen. That is no good thing dwell in our flesh. No good thing. Come on, ain't that powerful? They said no good things is that dwelling our flesh. So if it's no good thing dwelling, if you flesh led, how can it be good?

Because our flesh would only please the flesh, it will only please the flesh, it will only, and if the soul is being dictated by the flesh, your soul will be in death, in jeopardy of death. It will, because it's not spirit-led, it's not, amen. And we don't want to get that's why it's a fight. It was a fighting in the garden, it was a fight, and uh, like you said, you brought out the point. She was had three. She had all three.

Yeah, all three, and and she lost one fooling with the flesh.

What did Paul say? He said, When I want to do good, evil is always present. When I want to be spirit led by God, and my soul being there, that flesh, that spirit is still there trying to make me do the wrong thing, yeah, trying to make me mess up.

So it is a constant fight.

It's a constant fight. So I want to read this one scripture. We're gonna move. I'm gonna turn, I'm gonna let you talk, bishop. Yeah, this is Proverbs chapter three, verse five. This confirms what we're talking about. Proverbs chapter three, verse five says, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart. The heart is in the soul. So let's talk about the soul. Trust in the Lord with your soul, with your heart, your will, your emotions, all of that. And lean not unto thine own understanding. That means don't let your soul to be independent of God's spirit.

But in all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Every decision you make should be led and governed by the Spirit.

By the Spirit of God. Amen. And we know the condition the finish of the story. Um, the moment uh they took in eight, their eyes came open, and they recognized that they were naked. Problems.

Soon as it's the crazy moment, the moment they did, that's when all the problems hit. It was immediate uh response or uh uh action. Yes, feelings, all kinds of negativity, fellow.

They had none of that. They had none of it, none of it because God was leading them, they was in the cool of the day, they was talking to Adam was talking to God and strolling in the evening and doing all this, but the moment they cut off the main piece or one of the pieces of the puzzle, yeah. Shut down the spirit right now. The flesh is leading the soul to damnation.

I love that you their eyes opened and they knew that they were naked, they immediately felt vulnerable and unprotected, uncovered.

Because the spirit covers you, it does. That's the key. It's like my kid, it's uh you know, if a long um um God bless uh Pastor uh Harris, he's there has a young baby. The young baby don't need to have no control, he's covering that child, he's covered, he's leading that child around, he's doing everything, so that child has no reason to wake up and say, I'm not covered, I'm naked. No, what is the parents' job to cover them and bathe them and wash them and make sure everything is done, take care of all their needs. That's it, that's it. But the moment they sin, they disobey God, they open the portal, the portal to let the spirit go, and the flesh took control.

She opened that portal as soon as she questioned what God said. Thank you. And then the enemy came in.

That's where the doubt and the fear, and the when people in this society and this life start questioning God and question what God has made and created and He's done, then we have problems.

And I hear, and I want to make this clear is a distinction here. It's a difference in questioning God and trying to seek for greater understanding. Yes, that's two different things. Some people search scripture to find loopholes and question God. Some people search for understanding to go greater understanding, that's appreciation.

Right. That's that's what we're that's what we're doing here tonight. We are trying our best to say, Lord, help us because we want to be able to help others. Amen. You know, because if you don't know it's three parts to you, we don't understand that. We don't understand that the flesh has become dominant, and the flesh has become dominant and leading your soul to damnation. It is, but when you're spirit-led and you let Jesus Christ come in, you become spirit-led. Now your spirit is leading your soul and giving life to your soul and giving eternal life.

So this scripture back in Genesis, all that was was a fight. A fight because the enemy knows that that soul is gonna spend eternity somewhere. Satan knows he is doomed to hell. He knows he will be cast in the lake of fire and his angels. He knows this.

He is here on earth, he is here to win as many, to conquer as many as possible to go with him.

He's he's stealing souls out of life into death. Thank you. And then as our job as believers of God and disciples of God to snatch souls out of death back into life. Into life.

It's a fight. And that right there, as they used to say, that's the bottom line. And that's the bottom line. That's the fight. That's the fight. That's the fight. That's the fight. Now you know the fight. That is the fight. And it's a fight for your life, it's a fight for your children's life, and everybody else's life. It's a fight to say, you know what? When I leave here, my soul, I want my soul to be so spirit-led, because guess what? Guess what? And we're gonna get a little deeper in there. It's a scripture that said the same spirit, which was the Holy Ghost, yeah, quicken that soul and send it right. Am I right? Amen. So if you ain't got nothing in there quickening, come on, you ain't going nowhere.
