Karen shares the blurb on the back of the book to give children extra time to find their book or Kindle version for a Read A Long with her. She presents a family of deer, Mr. and Mrs. Buck, and Fawn, their daughter. Mrs. Buck was promoted, which required her to be away from home during weekdays. Mr. Buck and Fawn struggled with their new schedule and roles.
The problem happened when Fawn told her friend, Doe and her mother that Fawn had asked Mr. Buck if she could stay the night. But that wasn’t true.
When Mr. Buck and Fawn had their talk, he was sorry for failing to fix good meals and Fawn apologized for not being truthful. Talking helped them work out their problems.
Once Mrs. Buck came home, all was well.
Children enjoy this beautifully illustrated and adventurous picture book, filled with adorable animal interactions while they’re encouraged talk about problems with their parents. Reader age group recommended is six to nine years old.
