Bible Study - Deliverance from Foundational Barriers: Transformational Deliverance
Dec 25, 2022

In the third interactive Bible Study with Overcomers in Christ Group of Churches (OCGC) on deliverance from foundational barriers, we are reminded that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, but not the works of the flesh.  When dealing with foundational barriers, we are confronting bloodline spirits that are generational in nature; these spirits often hold their position through works of the flesh.  In order to maintain and seal our deliverance, we need transformational deliverance, which requires a life that resists temptation and the devil, submits to God, and turns away from sin and evil.

Apostle ID cites the work of Dr. Henry Wright, author of "A More Excellent Way" who coined 8 scriptural Rs to freedom and deliverance:

  1. Recognition - discern the source of the affliction
  2. Responsibility - take full responsibility for what you recognize
  3. Repentance - repent for seasons of refreshing
  4. Renounciation - make the sin our enemy
  5. Removal - remove the sin, stop enabling it
  6. Resistance - resist temptation and the devil by submitting to God
  7. Rejoicing - express gratitude to God
  8. Restoration - with wisdom, restore what was taken from others; and help others in their restoration

If deliverance feels like a revolving door, tune in to gain the scriptural tools needed to live and maintain the transformative life that Jesus won on the cross for us.
