Laurens Ten Dam: Talks about his first bikepacking race - Further
Aug 30, 2020
Neil Beltchenko

In Neil’s latest interview, he caught up with accomplished professional road cyclist, Laurens Ten Dam. Laurens recently retired in 2019 after a 22-year road career that included 10 Tour de France finishes, highlighted by a 9th place finish in 2014.

Recently, Laurens has turned his focus to gravel racing, but with COVID-19 canceling most races this year, he made room for the second annual bikepacking event, Further. Laurens performed quite well, taking third in his first bikepacking event behind two-time Trans Continental winner James Mark Haden and retired professional road cyclist Christian Meier. While retired, it seems the Dutchman is busier than ever, with his newly launched clothing brand, a gravel race series, a podcast, and his role as Editor-in-Chief of Bicycling NL.
