Genocide in plain sight—yet somehow invisible. Christians and Druze in Syria face systematic slaughter while the global media chooses to look away. Churches burn. Pastors and their families are tortured and executed. Children watch their parents suffer unspeakable violence. And yet, this humanitarian crisis remains conspicuously absent from headlines.

Why does the world selectively apply terms like "genocide" to certain conflicts while ignoring others? Through powerful eyewitness testimonies, we uncover the disturbing reality of religious persecution in Syria and expose the deliberate media blackout surrounding these atrocities. You'll hear firsthand accounts of jihadists attempting to crucify Christians "to make them look like Jesus" and threatening to abduct children—only to be thwarted by timely Israeli intervention.

The narrative surrounding Israel's involvement in Syria has been thoroughly distorted. While painted as an aggressor, Israel has actually been instrumental in protecting vulnerable Druze and Christian communities from complete annihilation. Yet political pressure has forced them to reduce their protective measures, leaving religious minorities exposed once again. The silence of world leaders is deafening.

As followers of Christ, we're called to respond with more than righteous indignation. Intercessory prayer becomes our powerful weapon when confronting darkness of this magnitude. Drawing strength from David's words in Psalm 18, we remember that God "reaches down from on high" and "trains our hands for battle" even when powerful enemies surround us. When media powers consciously suppress truth, our commitment to seeking and speaking it becomes an act of spiritual warfare.

Join me next time as we explore the origins of the image of the beast from its beginning to its present-day manifestation. Keep looking up. The King is coming.

Welcome everyone. This is Russ Scalzo. Chronicles of the End Times. I hope you're doing well today and drawing closer to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Today I want to focus on some news that's going on in Syria, where Christians and Jews are being slaughtered, churches are being burned, pastors and their families are being taken, tortured, and killed. Isn't it amazing that none of this is in the news? We hear the networks throwing around the word genocide when they talk about Gaza and other places. Why aren't the news networks covering this story? All you hear about Syria on the news from the networks is that Israel is bombing places in Syria. They shouldn't be in there. We see the quotes from the president of Turkey telling us how awful Israel is and what a terrible country they are. He called Netanyahu a vampire sucking the blood out of people. He railed on Netanyahu and Israel about Gaza, of course calling that a genocide and, at the same time, endorsing what's going on in Syria, with the slaughter of Christians and Druze and the sad part of it all is much of the news media grabs onto that and they never tell the rest of the story. Why is Israel there? They're trying to defend the Druze and the Christians who are being slaughtered, but you will never hear that on network news.

I don't want to sit here and rail on the news media. It's a waste of time. What I do want to point out is how demonic and satanic driven it all is, and what do I mean by that? The people that are in charge deliberately edit and, even, beyond that, totally disregard what's really happening. The prince in the power of the air, as Jesus called Satan, is doing his work, and those of us who love the Lord, we need to know what's really going on. We need to know the truth. We need to be praying for these people that are losing their lives, seeing their children killed in front of their eyes. We can't just live day to day not caring, because this is just the warm-up. I want you to listen to this clip from eyewitnesses of what's going on in Syria.

But can you tell us about the pastor, pastor Khaled Mezir? What happened with him and his family? So, apparently, from what we know and it's very hard to get really, really good reports, because not only that the Jews are under siege there, but there’s also bodies in the streets for four to seven days already now there's a lot of rumors about, you know, diseases spreading around. The internet has been cut off by the government on them so they can't report. So, from what we can gather from all the reports that we're getting, it was one of the Christian families of a pastor and his entire household that were slaughtered by these jihadists who went in and killed them. We've seen, you know, a church that was completely desecrated and burned. It's not the only Christian family that was attacked and killed there. We've seen two plaids already from religious leaders in that mountain Christians, bishops and etc. Calling for the world to intervene and saying that they're coming to kill them and the Druze.

This is the reason Israel has intervened, but now they have stopped. There seems to be a tremendous amount of political pressure on them to stop, but the Christians and the Jews in that area, they need them to continue to ward off these slaughters. Listen to this story.

So, I'm in touch with some of the defenders in that mountain. One of them is a very dear man and I really hope he survives. He's got wounded now and I'm praying that he stays alive. He just told me that they rescued a Christian family and now the man of that family is fighting alongside with them pushing these invaders from their homes. And he told me this story and he also let me hear the Christian man. So, he told me the same story, so I can collaborate different stories, you know, sounding the same. He's a sniper, by the way, trying to defend the country there.

So, they saw the family, they rescued them, and then the husband came and said this they broke into his house, a Christian family, started, you know, abusing, humiliating him. And then they came to the little daughter, and they told her your father is Christian, right? And she said, yes, do you want us to make him look like Jesus? So, they told the man please build a cross, and then we're going to cross, crucify your father from his hands, just like they crucify Jesus, so your father can be like the Jesus that you love. And then they asked to take the phone from that daughter, and he was trying to resist. So, the mother tried to intervene and said please, you know, maybe take my phone, just stay away from my daughter. So, they looked at her with a smile and they said you think we're gonna take her phone, we're gonna take your daughter. And then, at that moment, they started taking the daughter.

So, the mother fell on her knees, and she started praying and her husband, scared from the situation, told she started praying out loud and he told her this so it's not a good time to pray right now out loud, please. And she looked at him. He said this is the best time to pray right now. And in that moment when she prayed that's what they said that the Israeli jets came over the sky and landed you know, a missile in that area, taking these jihadists out. Some of them got shocked, disoriented, and they managed to escape. Bring back their daughter, saved by the Druze fighters.

So just these horrific. I mean it's on one hand, inspired to see the work of God defending these people and using Israel to do that, but, on the other hand, the fact that this has been going on for several days already and there's no one intervening and the only one that intervened was Israel until they were told to stop by some bizarre you know. Something happened behind the scenes and Israel stopped from interviewing and for the last three days, there's not a single humanitarian aid package that has been dropped there. There's not support from the IDF anymore, at least formally. Someone is trying to push Israel from saving these minorities. The people in Israel are crying for it, but something is happening behind the scenes and it's very, very concerning, and these Christians and Druze’s are being left alone on that mountain.

That's really an incredible story. But that's only one family that got miraculously saved from the situation. Others were not. The world is getting smaller and smaller, but yet we still find ways to live unto ourselves. The Lord is our help and our strength. Intercessory prayer is so important, and I know even in my own life I don't do it enough. I need to become more disciplined myself in praying, because during intercessory prayer you may not even realize what you're praying for, because the reality is we can't take in everything that's going on in the world. We can't know every need. That is what God does, that's what the Lord, Jesus Christ, will do, and through the Holy Spirit, he will lay certain things on our hearts. That's really what intercessory prayer is all about.

I love Psalm 18. It's such a powerful psalm. It's a psalm of David giving God glory on how he delivered him so many times, and it's just so poetic. It's such a graphic depiction of how David sees God coming to his aid. Psalm 18 is a long psalm. I'm just going to read a little tiny piece of it, but I hope that you will read it because it will encourage you, because the world around us as it falls apart. We need to be able to encourage ourselves and encourage one another.

The psalm starts in praise, which is really key for us. No matter where we're at and what situation we're in, we should try to start in praise to God, giving God glory and the presence of the Lord will wrap around us and give us peace. He starts out by saying I love you, o Lord, my strength, the Lord is my rock, my fortress, my deliverer. My God is my rock in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. That's how he starts out and he goes on to describe how he sees God coming to his aid. It's amazing.

08:15

Since the earth trembled and quaked, the foundations of the mountains shook. They trembled because he was angry. Smoke rose from his nostrils, consuming fire from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it. He parted the heavens and came down. Dark clouds were under his feet. He mounted the cherubim and flew. He soared on the wings of the wind. He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him, dark rain, clouds of the sky. Out of the brightness of his presence, clouds advanced with hailstones and bolts of lightning. The Lord thundered from heaven. The voice of the Highest resounded. He shot his arrows and scattered his enemies. Great bolts of lightning routed them. The valleys of the sea were exposed, the foundations of the earth laid bare. At your rebuke, o Lord, at the blast of your breath from your nostrils, he reached down from on high and took hold of me. He drew me up out of the deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in my day of disaster.

Wow, what a powerful psalm. And it just goes on and on. I encourage you to read it. So, when we go to prayer, that's the God we need to see. We need to know that God's not up there going well, okay, I'll get read it. So, when we go to prayer, that's the God we need to see. We need to know that God's not up there going well, okay, I'll get to it. You know I got a lot going on here. You know that's not the way the Lord looks at us. Each one of us are important to him. Each one of us have a relationship with him. He cherishes that. God is God. He's not you and me. He's not human. He holds all the stars and the galaxies in place At the same time. He knows every sparrow that falls to the ground. He's just amazing. So be encouraged today with all the things that are going on around us. Yes, we need to be aware of all the evil that is going on, so we are not taken unaware. But let us strengthen our hands in prayer and strengthen our souls and increase our faith.

I'll end with these few verses of Psalm 18. He trains my hands for battle. My arms can bend a bow of bronze. You give me your shield of victory. Your right hand sustains me. You stoop down to make me great. You broaden the path beneath me so that my ankles do not turn. God wants to strengthen us today that we might fight against the enemy and be victorious because our God is with us. The next podcast please tune into it. We're going to talk about the origins of the image of the beast from its beginning and where it is today. This is Russ Scalzo. Chronicles of the End Times. Keep looking up. The King is coming, you.
