Chronicles of the End Times
Occasionally, people say, are we really in the last days? How do we know? Does it matter one way or another? We will try to answer these questions and many others in this study. But the most important question may be, how can we reach others with hope in these changing times? One part of prophecy is often emphasized over another, causing us to lose perspective and miss the blessing and beauty of prophecy in scripture. I have taken the information in this study from many authors and teachers who have their lives studying God's word. I have added some insight that the Holy Spirit taught me. With God's help, I have endeavored to keep the whole counsel of the word of God in full view to give us an accurate picture of Christ and His great love for a lost world. I pray that this will challenge you and cause you to grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, as it has me preparing it. Let's begin!
Chronicles of the End Times
Digital ID: How close are we to turnkey totalitarianism?
A phone that doubles as your passport, paycheck, and permission slip sounds efficient—until the switch sits in someone else’s hands. We take a clear-eyed look at digital ID: what it is, how it’s rolling out across the US, UK, and EU, why China’s fused ID–social credit model matters, and where convenience crosses into control. Along the way, we parse the difference between real security gains—less fraud, faster onboarding, reusable credentials—and the deeper risks that come with centralizing identity, payments, and access to daily life.
I walk through what mandatory systems can mean for work, travel, healthcare, and speech, and why “turnkey totalitarianism” isn’t about a conspiracy but about integration choices made in code and law. We revisit India’s experience to understand failure modes at scale, and we examine how emerging frameworks pair digital IDs with CBDCs, data logging, and algorithmic decision-making. From a prophetic vantage point, I draw a careful line: this isn’t the mark of the beast, but it could be the scaffolding that makes future coercion possible at global speed. History repeats in larger patterns; technology just accelerates them.

Welcome everyone. This is Russ Scalzo, Chronicles of the End Times. I hope you're doing well today and seeking the Lord God Almighty. Every day we should be open to revelation from the Lord Jesus Christ. That doesn't mean some kind of new wild doctrine or crazy belief system, but just to be taught by the Holy Spirit, a new revelation of how great God is and what he wants for our lives. That's what I mean by that. Today we're going to talk about digital ID. You might say, oh man, here we go again, more of this stuff with the digital ID and the coming mark and all this kind of stuff. Well, I hope you don't tune out because what's happening is real. And I know that it's been shouted about a lot and addressed by many in Bible prophecy through the years. But this is new information. This is stuff that's right in our face, stuff that we need to know. Does that mean we should go out and march in the streets against it? I'll leave that up to you. But what it does mean, it's on its way to fulfill another piece of prophecy that even 30 years ago could have not been done. Take a listen to this short clip by Andre Jikh. We're going to get different views on this, so I think that's important.

Here we go. So, there's something big happening to the world right now that almost no one is talking about. And I think in the long term, this is going to change the way we all live our lives. And I'm talking about digital ID.
Speaker 01

This government will make a new free of charge digital ID mandatory for the right to work by the end of this parliament. Let me spell that out. You will not be able to work in the United Kingdom if you do not have digital ID.

Now, it might sound like it has nothing to do with economics or finance, and maybe it sounds boring, but the truth is, this is one of the most important changes that governments are pushing right now, and it's happening almost everywhere at the exact same time. In the US, at least 25 states have already launched digital driver's license programs. That means you can now pull out your phone instead of your wallet when you check into a flight, for example. And in Europe, they passed a law last year that makes it a requirement for all member countries to roll out a national digital ID wallet by 2026. In China, they just launched their version this summer, which links it to their social credit system. Countries like South Korea, Singapore, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates are already doing this with their digital IDs. Now, you might have heard of digital IDs before, but I don't think most people really understand what it is, because it's not being debated or talked about in Congress. It's not really trending on CNBC, and most people probably don't even realize that this is actually happening. But what's interesting though is that the United Nations has made it one of their goals, quote, legal identity for all by 2030. And the people funding it, of course, the World Economic Forum and the World Bank. And now Europe and the US are writing all of this into law. In just the last decade, the number of national digital ID programs have doubled. Today, over a hundred countries either have one or are building one right now. And when I first thought about it, at least on paper, it sounds kind of nice. It promises to cut down on fraud and make travel easier, and it onboards about a billion people who don't have any legal ID. But once you look into how much power this will give the governments of the world, you're going to be shocked. Once your entire identity is digital, whoever controls that ID can control a lot of power. And I don't think RFK Jr. is exaggerating when he said that this is turnkey totalitarianism.
Speaker 02

It lays the groundwork for global medical surveillance of every human being. Interesting.
Speaker 03
04:27
So, what does that mean to you and me? We know about digital ID licenses. They're happening all over America. They're called real IDs. They're pushing that pretty hard. And it sounds pretty cool, right? I mean, if you can get on an airplane, you could just show them your phone, there's your digital ID, and it prevents a lot of fraud and on and on. Just like any other technology we've experienced. Whether it's something as simple as driving down the highway and paying a toll by just driving through at 70 miles an hour and cha ching, you don't have to worry about it, you don't have to slow down, you don't have to stop, and so many other conveniences that we have today is because of the digital economy. But it's more than that. They want to incorporate not just your ID, who you are, where you live, your picture, links to other financial identifications to make sure that you're that person that you say you are, but they want to incorporate your medical information, and eventually it will be in total control of everything. Now, I want to say a little sidebar. This is not the mark of the beast. This is the technology that's going to enable the Antichrist to control the world. There's a decision that people will have to make. Trust the Prince of Darkness or trust God. It's called drawing a line in the sand and removing the gray area. Let's move on.
Speaker 05

So, a digital ID is a secure electronic form of ID that verifies who you are. Usually, it's built on top of an app on your phone, and inside that app is all your personal information, which is then verified by a trusted authority like a company or a government. But there is a big difference between the physical version and the digital one, because digital IDs use something called biometric data, which are things like your facial recognition or fingerprints, with cryptographic encryption, so they're a lot harder to fake. And once you've been verified, that ID becomes reusable. That means you don't have to keep handing over your passport or your license to different companies or even go to the DMV. You can just share that specific piece of information that they need. So, for example, if a bar needs to know that you're over 21, the app could just say, yes, this person is old enough without necessarily revealing your exact details, your birthday, or your full ID number. So, on paper, it sounds like a convenient thing to have. It's more secure, there's less information floating around, so less chance for fraud. But as you're about to find out, you're going to realize that when you centralize that much power, the question becomes what can they do with it? Because while governments and tech companies present this as a convenient and secure thing to have, the actual way it's already being used in some countries is a very different story.

We're constantly recording, watching and recording everything that's going on. Citizens will be on their best behavior because we're constantly recording and reporting everything that's going on.

Take China, for example. Just this summer, they launched their national digital ID app. But instead of it just being an upgrade from physical to digital, they tied it to their social credit system. That means their digital ID is not just proof of who they are, but it's also connected to things like their financial history, travel rights, and even their online activity. So, what that means is if the government doesn't like what they're doing, or doesn't like what they're saying online, or maybe what they're buying, they could restrict your ability to travel, to buy those things, or to access certain social services.
Speaker 03

Those of you who follow Chronicles of the End Time on a regular basis know that I did a whole podcast on this when China launched their credit social system. When you get a chance, go back and listen to that. And that is what England is now doing. It's hard to believe. But Britain is going to make this mandatory this year. Take a listen to this clip from the Glenn Beck Show.
Speaker 07
08:36
The CEO of Liberty Sentinel Media. His name is Alex Newman. He is a friend of the show, and uh I am a big fan of his. Alex, welcome. I want to talk to you a little bit about what's happening with digital ID all around the world. You've been warning about this since what, 2010, 2011? And here we are.
Speaker 06
08:54
Yeah. Thank you for having me, Glenn. And the first article I did, I went back and looked 2010 in the New American Magazine. I warned about a similar proposal in the United States. They wanted to bring in a national biometric ID that would be required to work. And here's the kicker: it was actually paired with amnesty for illegal immigrants. So, this new scheme that they're working on in the United Kingdom, they're marketing it as a method of reining in illegal immigration, but it really has nothing to do with illegal immigration. It's an effort to force everybody into this system. And they say, you know, first it'll be to work, next it'll be to shop, it'll be for your health care, it'll be for your government benefits. And it's coming at us like a freight train. Uh a few years after they first proposed it in 2010, Obama started pushing an idea that we needed a digital ID to go on the internet so that we couldn't be anonymous anymore online. Uh, we need to be clear. This is a tool for totalitarianism. And then you listen to Klaus Schwab's recent comments on the fourth industrial revolution just a few years ago, where he said, ultimately, we want a fusion of our biological and our digital identities. This stuff is crazy. And if Americans and if people around the world don't stand up, we're going to lose our freedom, Glenn.
Speaker 07
10:01
The digital ID now is being pushed in England. Uh, and it does encompass everything. Um, Switzerland has just done it. I believe Australia has done it. Uh, and it started earlier in in India, if I'm not mistaken. They were the first to go really deep into this, and it was a disaster. Can you tell me what happened when they launched that?
Speaker 06
10:24
Yeah, that was fascinating. I was covering that as well, Glenn, and they insisted that every last person in India have one of these things. It had all their biometric data, and they basically made it impossible to live without it. I was just in India a few months ago on a mission trip, and I was told that every single person in the entire country must have a smartphone to be able to interact with society. They used it for vaccine passports, now they use it for banking, they use it to get uh any kind of relationship with government or even companies. I went into a store and tried to buy a dress for my wife. I couldn't even buy that without a digital app something on a smartphone, which of course I didn't have because I don't have a smartphone. So, this became ubiquitous. And what happened in India, the total incompetence rolling it out, they had people who were not able to access food and other essentials of life. Uh, it ended up becoming a giant dumpster fire. Of course, Bill Gates was haunting this in the shadows. And uh I talked about this on your show uh last year, Glenn. The digital ID is one component of the digital public infrastructure that Bill Gates and the United Nations have already publicly announced they're working on. It will be melded with the central bank digital currency and all of the other digital architecture they're building to create essentially a digital gulag for humanity.
Speaker 03
11:38
Digital gulag. There's a term I'm not that familiar with. Maybe you are. It was a system of labor camps maintained in the Soviet Union from 1930 to 1955, in which many people died. The world is shrinking, and the Tower of Babel is being rebuilt. It wasn't a good idea then, and it's not a good idea now. For once we do that, there will be essential power. We can't help ourselves. This is what we do. This is not like a new revelation. This is what the human race does. We say one thing, but then oh, wait a minute now. Once that power comes on, that is the greatest aphrodisiac there is. There's nothing greater for a human being to get high on than power. There's a minute left on this clip. Check it out.
Speaker 06
12:28
It will end up in total control of every facet of your life. They're already bringing in the social credit score that they pioneered in China, they're pairing it with the digital currencies, and they want to make it so that they will track your carbon footprint, they will track your attitudes and your opinions online, they will track everything that you buy to determine whether you're making appropriate choices, they will track where you're tithing, what church you're tithing at, what organizations and ministries you're giving to. It will create a dossier, a comprehensive dossier on every American, which will of course be processed through artificial intelligence. And if we don't stop it, it will culminate in exactly what Klaus describes in his book on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a fusion of our biological and our digital identities that will be impossible to escape from.
Speaker 03
13:10
That's why it's important for us to read our Old Testament. Many Christians never touch the Old Testament. They may look at Psalms now and then, but most of the time concentrate on the New Testament. And unfortunately, from my experience, people don't read enough. The Old Testament will tell you what is to come, more so than even the New Testament, other than the Book of Revelation. History will repeat itself. And that's something that the Lord shared with me years ago when I was writing my first set of novels. He said, Do not try to create something new. Just look at history, for it will repeat itself only in a grander fashion. Once again, Chronicles of the End Times is all about encouraging you and I to redeem the time. Time is something we're not going to get back. In eternity there will be no time. That'll be a whole different dimension. But for now, we are given time and it is limited on this earth. And I pray that we will be an influence on our families, our friends, our community. We don't have to stand on top of every building shouting and waving signs that Jesus is coming. We just need to do our best to live a life that glorifies God. We're not always going to hit the target. That's okay as long as we're still shooting for it. Love you all. Thanks for all your support. Continue to do so. It is precious and means a lot to me. Just go to Rustgalzo.com and click support. This is Rust Scalzo for Chronicles of the End Times. Keep looking up. The king is coming.
