The loudest voices right now aren’t always the wisest ones, and a lot of Christians are getting pulled into the churn. Political hate, social media addiction, and constant crisis talk can feel urgent. Still, they can also function like spiritual static that keeps us from prayer, Scripture, and the quiet clarity of the Holy Spirit. The question I keep coming back to is simple: do we still have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying?

We wrestle with distractions inside the church, too, including a “super grace” mindset that turns grace into passivity. I share why Jesus’ call to abide in the vine is not a suggestion, why the road is narrow, and why repentance and obedience still matter in real Christian living. Then we turn a corner toward hope: I’m hearing strong reports of God moving in high school and college students, with many young men waking up early to seek Jesus. It’s a powerful sign amid cultural confusion and a reminder that God is still building a remnant.

We also talk end times and Bible prophecy with a sober lens: the spirit of the Antichrist is real, the world is accelerating, and good and evil race toward the return of Christ. That doesn’t lead us to panic; it leads us to allegiance to Jesus over politics and to spiritual readiness. We close with Ephesians and the armor of God, because the goal is not to look equipped but to stand. Subscribe for more, share this with a friend who feels distracted, and leave a review telling me: what’s competing most for your attention right now?

00:11

Welcome everyone. This is Russ Scalzo, Chronicles of the End Times. Thank you for being with me today. It's been while my last podcast. A lot going on. And of course, the world continues to spin, and there's so much that we could talk about.

00:28

We have the attempted assassination of the president that seems to never get old with people. And the comments on social media are the usual hate streak, and people just can't get enough of hating Donald Trump. The saddest part of all is so many Christians are involved in this mess, and they don't realize that they are being distracted. We need to be in touch with what God sees. What is he saying in these last days to us? Are we able to hear it? That's my question. Are we able to listen to it and hear the Spirit?

01:04

As Jesus said to John and told him to write it down so future generations could read it. He said, Those who have ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches, who are the churches that's you and me. And that's just not about Bible prophecy. That's about everything. And the devil is throwing everything at us at the same time right now. Because the very last thing he wants us to do is to pray and read the Bible. That's the very last thing he wants us to do. He'd rather that we focus on ourselves. And it seems like that's working in a lot of ways. Can we stop taking ourselves so seriously? Can we just stop?

01:50

There are so many distractions. We have the super grace movement, which we've talked about before, where it's all God's job. We don't have to do anything. That's their definition of grace. Grace is God bending over backwards every minute of every day. We are required to do nothing, which is not the truth. Jesus said, Abide in the vine. If you abide in the vine, then there's nothing you can't do in my name. But if you don't abide in the vine, you will be pruned, and those branches will be thrown into the fire. We don't like to hear that kind of talk. Jesus told his disciples that the way of righteousness is a narrow road. And not only is it a narrow road, but then he made it even clearer by saying, And few that find it. There are many reasons for that. And today we're seeing a lot of that, a lot of distractions, a lot of hate. People are willing to march in the streets. Most of them women, by the way, check it out. The feminine movement has gone insane. It's just they've lost their minds. Where are the men? That's what I want to know. Where are the men who are standing up for

03:02

God? But despite that, I want to tell you something positive today. I want to tell you that God is moving among high school and college kids. Just no small movement. This is gigantic. Major. And who is he moving upon? A lot of young men. Young men, Hispanic, black, white, young men that are coming alive for Jesus. You know the Lord gave me a vision some years ago of this giant field. Could have been a field of wheat, I'm not really sure, but it was just, you know, blowing in the wind. And it was divided by many fences. And inside each one of these areas that were fenced off, there were lambs. But many of the fences had holes in them where the wolves were getting in and getting out and stealing the lambs. And the Lord spoke clearly to me that this is happening in families because the men are not standing by the gate. The men are not standing in Christ, defending their families from the spiritual darkness. There is a drought of godly men who are reading their Bibles and who are not ashamed of living for Jesus Christ. But God is on the move. I'm in touch with some amazing FCA leaders, fellowship of Christian athletes, and they're telling me that these kids are seeking God early in the morning before school. They're hungry for Jesus. That's a great sign of where we are today.

04:35

And on the other side we have this movement that is just waiting for the Antichrist to come. We have politicians that have lost their minds. They can't wait for the whole world to come together under one world leader. They can't wait to surrender all their liberties and their rights. Folks, we don't know how close we are to the rise of the Antichrist. The spirit of the Antichrist is so powerful throughout the world right now. Not more powerful than God. God is on the move, like I said. We have to remember that Bible prophecy declares that the good and the evil will be racing at light speed towards the coming of Jesus Christ. Not just one thing or the other. It's going to be a battle royal until the end. We have Europe is just falling apart, no longer the Europe of old. And where is the church in all this? Yes, there is a remnant who are standing up. Yes, that you very well might be part of that remnant. I hope you are, that you're praying, and that you understand what God's doing. And we want to blame it on President Trump or blame it on the Democrats, blame it on what's happening in Europe, the European leaders. And there's some blame that can go around. But folks,

05:56

God is doing it. And the Christians, a lot of them I talk to, they don't get it. This is God. He is shaping the political scene for two things. The rise of the Antichrist that's coming, because you know he prophesied it, and it will happen. Remember Jeremiah chapter one, verse twelve, I watch over my word to perform it. This is not a roll of the dice. The world out of control with no direction. It has a direction. God is seeing to it. So instead of jumping up and down and screaming and yelling and being so full of ourselves that we think we're the center of the world, we need to pledge our allegiance to Jesus Christ. He's the one who bled and died that we might live. He's the one that puts up with us. He puts up with me and all my foolishness and the mistakes that I make and forgives me and encourages me to move on. What's the secret to that? Is that as long as you and I are walking on the road that leads to the kingdom of God, that leads to greater understanding of Jesus, directed by the Holy Spirit and fed on the Word of God, God is with us. We can fall, we can trip, and we do. We're human. We can say things and think things we shouldn't, as long as we repent of them, God is there to forgive us. But if you're on the road of darkness, that like Jesus said,

07:24

the darkness is your light, how great is that darkness? We are on the verge, we are on the precipice of the greatest battle in the history of humankind. Are you prepared? Am I prepared? Am I wearing the armor? Do I know the word of God? Am I able to do battle in the heavenlies? Or am I ill equipped? And above all else, I like the way Paul finishes it up in Ephesians. Having done all to stand, stand therefore. That's the most important part. You can put on all this armor that Paul talks about in Ephesians, and you can look real shiny and new in your brand new outfit, sword at your side, but if we don't do the last thing, having done therefore everything to stand, stand therefore. I believe in God to see these young men who are getting saved take their place as spiritual leaders, not only in the church, but if God allows in their families that they will have.

08:29

I encourage you to break away from the crowd. I encourage you today to be alone with Jesus. Can Jesus offend you? Yes he can. Have you ever been offended by Jesus? Have you ever been disturbed by the words that he says? Has he rocked your world, disturbed your life? He has mine many times, and he's spoken to me about things I need to change, things I need to do. He does it in love, but he's constantly, constantly teaching. Just like he did when he was on the earth. For those three and a half years he taught and taught and taught. And when he was with those who were arrogant, he warned them. And when he was with the prostitutes and the drunkards and the thieves, he didn't become one of them to relate to them. He was always Jesus. He always loved them, but he pulled no punches. That's an art form, and we can only learn that from the Holy Spirit. So I encourage you today, live for Jesus because as Peter declared two thousand years ago, he said, These are the signs that in the last days, and he went on to talk about the spirit falling and the signs of the times two thousand years ago. Whatever your concept is of the end times and the coming of Jesus Christ, there is no doubt that we are two thousand years closer to that than Peter when he declared it on the day of Pentecost.
