How Do We Attract Our Wants?
How do we attract the people we want in our life? What is the word attract? And how does it ties in with words of affirmations?
The whole thing of believing in yourself entails having confidence. The belief that you are and that you will. That energy is a powerful source and would only act as a magnet to attract. But there is a secret to getting what you want quicker. That’s by doing more (finding steps to learn how to get a goal) and being the person you strive to have in your life.
Like, you can’t be fit and skinny without working out and eating healthy. You can’t be a movie star if you don’t go to auditions. You can’t wish your kid to be an honest person if all you did was lie to your kid. Catch my drift? Lol.

Now with what I just said, what do you want in your life? Critical thought is that you have the power to choose. You choose how you feel, decide what to try, what you want to learn or do, and how you view the world. It was always a choice of our own.
I" m going to ask you something. And I need you to really think about this. I want you to think about the word, 'attract.'
Welcome to the Dang Good Show! Thanks so much for tuning in! I'm your host, C-DANG, from the beautiful Vancouver of British Columbia in Canada. You can catch me on Instagram @Christine_Dang or my website, c-dang.com.

This is Episode 006 -
I am so excited about today's topic. A topic I hope that could spark a positive change in your life, as it has mine. I think about it all the time and learn ways to bring what I love more into my life, which could bring an abundance of joy and connectedness.
Ohhh, Attract. A word is so simple yet so complicated because of its many layers. Attract is attract. What else can we possibly learn from a word we know our whole life?
The word attract by definition is: To draw by a physical force causing or tending to cause to approach, adhere, or unite; pull (opposed to repel).
We all know what it means to attract attention. To make someone notice someone or something. Like the man waved to attract the attention of the waitress or the trial has attracted international attention.
Here's how attract is described in the dictionary.
/əˈtrakt/
verb
cause to come to a place or participate in a venture by offering something of interest, favourable conditions, or opportunities.
"a campaign to attract more visitors to West Virginia."
Evoke (a specified reaction).
"I did not want to attract attention."
Cause (someone) to have a liking for or interest in something.
"I was attracted to the idea of working for a ballet company."
So, this word attract. This one word is often overlooked.
I want to take a deep dive and understand the word 'attract' through different channels of thought and perspectives. That way we can learn how to attract the things we want in our lifetime. And know what to avoid and why we attract certain things in our life now.
Once you understand how powerful your thought is, you will not want to think another negative thought. Ok - that last line wasn't from me but a quote.
2 things to understand:
1. Attracting stuff into your life ties with the choices you make (like to do or not to do) and
2. what you think about the most (your wants and desires). We are attracted to things because of our wants.
I find with confident people, they know what they want and will go out and get it. It also ties in with their morals and values.
On the other end, non-confident people, who are very self-conscious - get scared of the things they want. They would shy away or even go as far as blocking themselves from opportunities to give them Joy. Why? Because of fear.
Fear is the killer of all dreams. Fear is the reason why so many of us stay stuck in limbo and make bad choices. I know this all too well because I have lived through it. To question yourself about your ability to thrive, even tho deep down you know this is what the heart wants you to. But for some reason, you fear failing. But you fail anyways because of fear.
It's torture. The mind spins and gets mad because you don't push yourself—a downward spiral. The feeling of guilt builds up, and staying stuck seems to be the only choice. We are our own worst critics.
In episode 001 - I spoke about the Power of Choice - we humans are simple creatures and too smart. We have the capacity to over complicate things. Overthinking. Sometimes even create our own problems within ourselves. So.
What do you choose? You always have 2 choices: Yes or no. Do or do not. Love or not love. To feel good or to feel bad. I make my choices on what aligns with my values and goals. But one thing for sure, though, I will always choose to love.
Let me repeat that,
This statement: It took me a while to understand how important it is with the power of choice. I feel like only As of recently, I get it. "I get it, I get it" - Drake.
So, when you want to attract that good-good into your life. Then we must choose the path that leads us to what we want.
For example, with me, I ain't getting any younger. It's time to really sit my ass down and roll out a game plan to accomplish financial wealth. That means strategize my funds to pay off my debt, save for emergencies, travel and really understand where the fuck my money is going.
What do you mean by attract?
How do you attract what you want in life?
Jack Canfield wrote -
Decide what you want. To get what you want, you must first decide what you want. How the brain works, according to scientists and researchers, "is that you must first decide WHAT you want, before your brain can figure out How to get it." This most important step is to believe that you can have it. And that anything is possible. Because when you limit your mind, you will limit your possibilities.
Dream Big. This is where action comes into play. Now you are excited; you want this to happen. The beautiful thing about your mind is that once you commit to a big dream and run after it, your subconscious creative mind will come up with great ideas to make that dream turn into reality. This is where the magic happens. You attract the opportunities, people and resources that you will need to make your dream come true. This is when we lead by example to motivate and inspire others to dream and work hard like you.
I read a lot about the law of attractions. I'm not going to lie that watching the Secret really pushed me to use my imagination and learn how to attract the good goods in my life.
The thing about dreaming big - is that the journey is gonna be challenging. And to be honest, these past few years have brought me the greatest joy and happiness. But also a lot of pain and heartaches. I do not regret anything. I am where I need to be, and I am incredibly grateful for all of the experiences. The hardest part was learning how to trust the process and being very patient.
You might be wondering, okay dang, that sounds great and all, but where do I start?
It starts with you. Remember what I said earlier about how happiness was always about you? You, my friend, are the beacon of things to come to you.
Okay, for example - Have you ever dreamt of your dream boyfriend or girlfriend? You list those qualities and yet, they are out of reach. You don’t know how to attract them because in your mind they became this magical unicorn. My friend, in order for you to attract that magical unicorn. You must BE and OWN that magical unicorn.
Ok, hear me out.
Ever since I was younger, I was always so fascinated by people. There's still a rare group of people whom I met not as a group but as individuals. Sometimes they are friends of friends or of family. And strangers or A passerby.
There's this energy about them that I am drawn to. For some reason, you just trust them more. And how it's intriguing how they would form a deep connection in minutes. They are confident and super friendly. How do I attract more of these into my life?
Why is it rare to meet such people like that? They inspired and motivated me to be my best self.
Do you know what this quality is? It's emotional maturity.
I'm attracted to and admire emotionally mature people. Who leads by example, who's always speaking from the heart and I dig it.
Maturity is attractive. Responsibility is attractive. Having your shit together on an emotional level is attractive. Knowing what you want is attractive. Paying attention and being attentive is attractive.
Here's a list that popped up on my Instagram feed:
That's the type of people I want to attract in my life and the kind of person I strive to be.
Be that person you want in your life. Be that positive and loving person you crave to have in your life. Learn how to be alone and be okay with it. This might also mean to Work on yourself on a much deeper level. It's gonna take some work, and trust me when I say it's going to get ugly, but I promise you that learning to respect and love yourself will only attract more of that into your life.
If I want positivity, then I will try my best to consciously be optimistic about how I view myself, making it easier for me to view others. Does that make sense?
You gotta act what you wanna attract. Do you want love? Compassion? Peace? Smarts? Money? Good people? I can keep naming all the things we like.. but ask ourselves. Am I doing these things? Am I bring these things? Am I loving? Am I Compassionate? Peaceful? If I want to be smart, am I continuously curious to learn?
I encourage you to write it down. I did mine on a posted note. It's incredible how something as simple as writing it down makes a huge difference. Once you write 'em down, stick them somewhere you will see every day. For me, the bathroom mirror. There's a lot of pep talk in there. lol
From my experience, I find it's kinda cool and scary to see it in writing. It makes it more real. There's this vulnerable side to it, though, writing down our deepest desire, the things and goals we want to attract into our life. But it's even more courageous to act on it; for whatever reason, people fail to act based on fear and rejection. Or people will mock or judge you if you fail.
I woke one day and thought to myself - "what the heck? Why did I choose to let those defeating thoughts in? I failed anyway because I didn't push or do when I had a chance. If someone was going through what I did, how would I treat them and encourage them?"
What is it that you want to attract? Here's a common one - attracting our significant other.
I hear this all too much.
I want my man to be smart, successful, charming, fun, outgoing and positive.
Or
I want my woman to be a lady, smart, charming, fun, successful, and positive.
We wish these things - what are you doing to attract them? Most of the time, nothing.
Remember, no one else can make you happy. You are your own source of happiness. When you are happy, someone or something will come along to match your vibration and energy.
If you want to attract 'the one,' then you must be the one.
Act the persons you want to attract.
This almost ties in with how you want your kids to grow up to be the person you hope they'd become.
Daring greatly -Just by being as wholehearted parents. Be the adult you want your children to be. Are you the adult you want your children to be?
Here are 8 things to quit now:
So from that last point about -
“𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧. 𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.” 💯😚
Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship you have.
If you want respect, then respect yourself. If you wish to love, then love yourself. Put yourself first and take care of yourself. Yes, your mind, body and spirit; the whole works. 🙏🙏 Be your own Dang hero.
Like attracts like. Only then, the person of your ’dreams’ will come along and match your energy. I speak from experience 😉♥️
