Card 12: The Hanged Man
Sacrifice and surrender. Letting go of control. Getting uncomfortable to gain a new perspective
Moving into the Hanged Man tarot card means that we are preparing for Death. The tarot card Death comes right after the Hanged Man, so we are in the throes of destruction to find our rebirth and evolve.
We are heading into destruction and death cycles. All the work that we have done with the rest of the tarot cards in the second line of the Major Arcana is now coming to a head with the Hanged Man. There is no turning back.
In the episode, we discuss the main themes of the Hanged Man, which are:
1. Past the space of your control is where much of your wild nature can be found
2. Weathering the natural turns and cycles of life provides you with the possibility of growing, evolving, and creating your magick from a rooted place
3. Do not fight for control over your evolution. Surrender and sacrifice into the process
I also read the The Hanged Man poem from my book Major Arcana: A Poetry Collection, and discuss the imagery of this card from all my tarot decks.
