Card 20: The Sun
We move from the mysteries, the darkness, and the feminine to the daylight, illuminating truth, logic, action, and a hunger in the spirit. In this episode, we explore the Sun as a tarot card of embodied courage, clear action, and honest illumination.
This episode breaks down how I read this tarot card, in my own readings, or with clients. We also look at the symbolism within the imagery of the Sun tarot card, and read my poem The Sun from my poetry book, Major Arcana: A Poetry Collection.
Main themes in this episode:
- Sun and Moon as counterparts in tarot
- Numerology of 19
- Recognizing the difference between toxic positivity and growth from hardship
- Using that hardship as fuel to evolve and rewild
- Symbolism of the Sun in Shadowscapes Tarot
- Invitation to take up space and integrate cycles

Hello, and thank you for tuning in to the Wolf Child Magic Podcast. My name is Ashley, your tarot reader, Rocky Mountain Witch, and overall Wolf Child. And I thank you for being here with me today. In today's episode, we are going to be discussing the sun. This is the next on our deep dives. I am so excited to talk about this card with you. I would also like to apologize if you hear a chainsaw going on in the background. One of my neighbors is cutting down a tree. I live in the mountains of Colorado. Chainsaws are like ambulances or cop cars in the city. You just hear them all the time. But before I get into the episode today, there's a few things that I want to highlight. Just do some quick housekeeping. The first thing is that I am raising my prices across the board. I have to. Things are more expensive for me, just like they're more expensive for everyone. It just is something that I'm recognizing with the amount of work that I'm putting into it. I just need to raise those and bump those up. And again, it's more expensive for everyone. So I will be informing through social media as I go along and also my newsletter. The next thing I want to highlight is that some other changes that I'm looking to be making are in the form or I should say will come in the form of where I'm starting to place more of my energy. The podcast and the newsletter have been two of my more lower forms of engagement, and these are two that actually take me a lot of time. I don't have a producer, I don't have a sound person, I don't have an editor for the podcast. Every podcast you have ever heard on the Wolf Child Magic podcast or previously T and Tombstones was created by me, which means that it's probably not as polished as some other podcasts, but it also means that it is just straight from my heart to um the platform where you're listening to me on right now. Going into 2026, I'm looking at kind of pulling back this energy and redirecting it to places that have had more engagement or places that I would like to grow my platform more. So if again, you really like this podcast, please boost it. Same thing with the newsletter. I'm going to be going from two newsletters or two emails every month to one, and I'm gonna be focusing more on building up my Substack and my YouTube channel. So I'm kind of pulling back on YouTube or I'm I'm pulling back on my podcast and bumping up YouTube, and I'm pulling back on my newsletter and bumping up my substack and just social media with the with the newsletter aspect. So if you want to continue to listen to the podcast, again, please bump it up and still please, you know, sign up for the newsletter because I will still be putting information out there. It just may not be as much because I was looking at how much time, like I actually timed myself one day when I was writing the email that I send out to all my subscribers, and I was just like, I can't, I can't keep doing this, like I can't keep engaging with it this way twice a month. I really need to kind of pull back here and be more mindful about where I'm putting my energy and how much energy I'm putting into these things. Last year was such a year of growth for me, which I am so grateful for, but it was also a year where I just did not know where the stop button was on my energy and on my investments. I even almost went into a mild form of burnout. I've been able to recognize my symptoms because of some of the more severe burnouts I've gone through, like when I was working in the animal shelters. So it was much more mild, and I was able to kind of recognize this and then pull it back. But still, when I would sit and have conversations with Grizzly, you know, who is of course my biggest champion, he was just like, you need to pull back, Ash. You just need to pull back. It's okay. You need to look at your expectations. He was really good at helping me kind of temper myself. And going into 2026, I just need to recognize that in some ways I need to put some boundaries on myself, on some of my engagement. And I think we all kind of just need to recognize that we're not machines, you know, we're human beings, and we have limits and we have different ways we show up every day. So this is me being mindful, and this is me kind of taking back some of that wild reclamation, even when it's really fucking scary, because it is wildly reclaiming myself within my business, which is my pride and joy, it's my purpose, it's how I really show up in this world. So it's hard, but this is where the work is done, and sitting here talking about this is even triggering, you know. It's just weird to kind of sometimes let people behind the curtain, but you also need to do that so that you can be human. The last thing that I want to share with you before we get on to our episode, is a petition and an article and also a link to a website called fivecalls.org. I love this website so much. It's basically a way to make your voice heard. It makes it so easy for you to call your senators or your congresspeople. And I just want to be very clear here that when making these calls, like when I first started doing this, I was so terrified. It is scary to do this, but the more you do it, the easier it gets. And so, like if you would like to call right now, you just put in your location wherever you are at, and then it'll start to pull up on the left sidebar some issues that kind of are at the top of the priority list generally, but you can choose which ones are the most important for you. So, for example, just looking at this website right in front of me, at the very top is the stop the military escalation with Venezuela, demand the release of the Epstein files, stop the dismantling of the National Center of Atmospheric Research, protect funding and access to gender-affirming care, extend the Affordable Care Act premium, tax credits. All of these things are so, so worthy. Yesterday I called um and left a message at Michael Bennett's office, which is one of my senators here in Colorado, to vocalize my support and him voting no on the bill HR 845, and that's the one I really want to highlight for you today. So, Bill HR 845, also known as the Pet and Livestock Protection Act, is a US House bill that has already passed Congress. So you would need to call your senators, and it was created by Trash Can herself, Lauren Boebert. Basically, this bill would delist gray wolves and remove them from the endangered species list. Removing them means they would lose their federal protection. This is so dire for wolves. And if I can't use my voice to advocate and speak up for wolves, which I have obviously devoted my whole platform to their symbolism and their strength and their beauty, I have no justification to talk about anything politically because I would be talking out of my ass. I will have some articles linked for you to go and look at, but please sign this petition and please call your senators to urge them to vote no on this bill. Because one, this bill does not follow any sort of science, which is par for the course with this administration. They have just thrown science out the window, and any form of conservation, any form of wildlife management has to follow science. This bill is just a green light for cruelty to be enacted against wolves at a federal level, and it's permissible, it's disgusting, it's foul, same as Lauren Boebert herself, and I would expect nothing less from her. And I'm not even saying that we all have to love wolves the way I do, but in a world of such cruelty, recognizing just that wild energy, not only do we need these wolves just for their beauty and what they represent, they are a keystone species, meaning that they affect their ecosystems on a grander scale. They disproportionately affect their ecosystems when their presence is there than other animals, meaning that if you remove them, then the ecosystem disproportionately has negative effects. This article was stating that a study was done in places where wolves were present, and they found in this study that there was less deer and car collisions and therefore less insurance claims because the wolves were taking out more of the deer population, and the deer were keeping more to hidden places and not near roads as much. So just highlighting this really quickly before we move on to the sun, but this article talking about the study that was done says according to a new study by assistant professor of economics Jennifer Rayner, areas with wolf populations are seeing a 24% decline of car versus deer accidents due to the canines creating a landscape of fear in ways human deers cannot. Her study was published by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences on June 1st and investigated the potentially positive presence of wolves in relationship to roadways by examining 22 years of data from Wisconsin. The researchers determined that for the average county, the wolf's effect on deer collisions yielded an economic benefit that is 63 times greater than the cost of verified wolf predation on livestock. So again, it isn't just hippie shit, but the hippie shit is enough for me, but it actually makes it cheaper for us to drive on these roads because we're not as likely to hit deer. We are a part of these ecosystems that wolves are a part of. We need to learn how to coexist with these animals. So again, please go and sign this petition. Please call your senator and ask them to vote no on this bill because it's just a green light for cruelty. I am going to use my voice to be more of a light in this world. And that's just how I have to show up in greater ways than just my business. But speaking of being a light in this world, now let's turn and talk about our deep dive for this month, which is the sun. The blog post is linked and it has this content in written form as well as the audio here. It also has the depiction of the sun from every single tarot deck that I own currently. I will be discussing the symbolism, but I will only be going into one or maybe two cards. It's just too much to discuss here. So you can go and look at all the sun cards that I own and see if there's one you really like. You would like me to do a review on that deck, or maybe you would like to purchase that deck for yourself. So go take a look at the blog when you have some time. I will also be ending this podcast episode by reading the Sun poem from my book, Major Arcana, a poetry collection. And that is also linked if you would love poems that go into each and every major arcana card. We are almost through the major arcana cards. We have two left, only two left, of the major arcana after the sun, which is judgment and then the world. The fool kind of darts and bounds lily pads and leapfrogs from one card to another, and that's because of the fool's everything and nothing quality. If you would like to know more about the fool, that is the card that I started with in these deep dives. You can go and listen to that. But for now, we are at the sun, and the sun is such a beautiful card. That golden light, that warm touch on our skin. Literally, we do not even really need to use a guidebook when we read this card because the sun plays such a pivotal role in our physical world. When we go outside and we just feel that sun on our skin, sunscreen, of course, but we just feel that sense of invigoration, we feel that sense of percolating energy. Like the sun just kind of pulls this energy out of us. It does have its shadow side, which we will get into, but this is one of the cards that is usually one of the most welcomed cards when it comes forward in a reading. Like, who doesn't want the sun to come forward in a reading? So just to kind of back up here, please go and also listen to the moon deep dive because the moon and the sun play a very significant role in how we read not just that card in particular, but how we read the the other card. Like we need the moon to kind of highlight how we read the sun, and vice versa. So the sun pivots us from the dark mysteries and the liminal forces of the moon, and now we move to this more logical understanding, this reality of the waking world. We're not in the dark, liminal, watery, mysterious depths of the moon. We are in the grounded light of day with the sun. That doesn't mean that the sun doesn't have any magic here, but it's of a different kind. This magic is the wild hunger of living and experiencing. Whereas the moon comes in and creates that emotional, intuitive, cyclic energy for an experience, the sun comes in and pairs that of once you have felt that wild hunger within the belly and in the dark, mysterious space of self, the sun is like, go and find this, chase this, go live this, go be this in your waking reality. To put it another way, when you have that summer day where you just feel like anything's possible, like the world is your oyster type of energy, that's kind of what the sun gives here. It's much deeper than that. I mean, it's nothing, um, I don't know if I should say it like that, because having that feeling of the world is your oyster is a beautiful feeling. It is such an invigorating feeling because we don't get that feeling very often. And that's kind of where the sun is so special is that when the sun comes in, not only is it saying that our intuition is right and validated, but it's saying go do this. If not now, then when? Go. So the sun with that world as your oyster and kind of chasing your dreams, chasing your desires. We have to have the moon first because the moon is the muse. I'm not saying that the sun isn't a muse. We see so many ways that the sun could be a muse, but the moon is a much deeper muse because it pulls on the mysteries of the self, the mysteries of life. The moon pulls us into very prophetic and poetic energies. And the sun comes in and gives breath and life like it does to all things. It gives life to those palpable forces, those poetic, prophetic energies that we hold within. The sun now comes in and breathes life into that and says, This is possible. And then we're just filled with that hunger, with that tenacity, with that drive, with that ferocity that makes us want to just run to the horizon. We see this too with the numerology, and this article will be linked from my favorite numerology website, numerologist pro. But it says that 19 gives you luck, purity, and intuition. One and nine add up to 10, which again adds up to one, which is the number of the sun. Like the sun, the number 19 is full of energy and the spark of life. The sun shines on its surrounding and leads others full of goodwill. The sun gives a strong winner mentality, positive energy, and optimism. The number 19 is very optimistic and full of drive. With this number, you can experience remarkable synchronicities, lucky coincidences, and be carried forward by life. So when this card comes forward, we just kind of have this pull, this magnetism to move into the external since we've been in the internal with the moon. We now have this pull into the external with confidence, with drive, with that spark of life, with that tenacity and that energetic force that's just kind of pulling us forward. And we are called and invited with the sun to heed that energy, to make the most of it, and to have a hunger for our life. So, just to kind of continuing highlighting here, the evolution with the moon reminds us that our evolution has to start within. We also learned that lesson with the devil. We can't pull the chains off of us in external ways. We have to sit in the shadows of self. And then the moon comes in and speaks to the mysterious forces that transform and shape us on a subconscious level. So if the sun illuminates the waking world, the powers of our reality and logical understandings, the moon is the opposite. The moon, with its silvery reflection, lends itself to our emotional, intuitive, wild, mysterious, and unseen forces. And the moon has to come first in this progression of the majors from in our evolution because we have to learn that again, our evolution is not going to be found outside of us. From the devil to the moon, we recognize that we have to connect to the watery, the mysterious, and the shadowed depths within, moving like the iconic crab in the moon from the depths of the water to the shores of awareness, transformation, and integration. And all that work is done: awareness, transformation, integrating, all that is done with the sun. So once that liminality, interconnection, and magic is planted within us from the silvery reflection of the moon, that seed, the sun now comes in and does its work. And that is how I read the sun card. The first way I read the sun card is that it speaks to the strength of the spirit radiating fiercely without apology, explanation, or justification. After we have found that wild tethered to the unseen forces in the world and within ourselves, the spirit within becomes stronger. When we do the work with the moon, our spirit takes such depths, it creates such tethers to the unseen, to the magic, to the wild, to the mysterious. And now our spirit is is it's stronger, it's radiating, it is emboldened to live a life that aligns to that authentic wilderness within. Is the card of your wild reclamation taking root in the external world? Your actions, your choices, the hardships you have experienced, especially because we have gone through now both the devil and the tower in this line, relationships, the potential gain of a deeper purpose. You when this card comes forward, you are showing up in the world as you need. When the Sun Tarot card comes forward, the evolution and rebirth, all the work we have literally done from creation, destruction, now to evolution, that rebirth, that energy is happening in real time when this card comes forward, because you are taking all of that work and then giving it the life force that comes with the sun. The next way that I read the sun tarot card is that it feeds the appetite of your evolution forward. We've kind of already been talking about this, but it also illuminates the hardships faced. And we need to recognize what we've gone through. We need to look at how we've moved through the hanged man, the death card, the devil, the tower. We need to look at the hardships that we've faced because that is even more of a push to tell us to run and go forward and not look back. The hardships give our run that hunger, that spiritual chase towards our evolution meaning. It is a constant reminder that because we have experienced these things, we need to chase our desires. We need to feed the hunger within to live a life that is authentic, beautiful, slow, adventurous, whatever that looks like to you. So for some, they need as much adventure as possible. Someone like me wants a much slower life. Like I just want to wake up and sit in the sun and have my coffee and watch birds. Some people need to wake up and already be going. You know what I mean? The sun card is where the evolution of the spirit reveals a bigger and more downrange view. The sun shines a light on us, filling us with that promise of a new day, new opportunities, a new awakening, and a return to some of the most pure and beautiful parts within us, which, when you look at the rider weight tarot, that's what the baby on the white horse really is symbolizing. Like the baby represents that innocence and that purity, and then the horse represents that mastery, that um, that that freedom energy. The horse is like this unbridled freedom, and then the baby is that innocence and the purity. Combine those together. It is literally an invitation to create a sense of freedom with the most pure and beautiful parts of you. Each day that we wake up, we are given the gift of light and life. And the sun tarot card, just like the sun kind of metaphorically or in a personified way, asks, What will you do with this precious gift? And this is where it is so beautiful and it's so wonderful, but it's also not without one, its edges or its conflict, its challenges, but it's also not here to be like, ooh, love and light. I don't, you guys know how I feel about that. But the sun card literally cannot be love and light. Because if it were love and light, that means that everything we learned within the envelopes of the devil, the tower, death, the hanged man, the hierophant, the hermit, strength, all these cards. If it was just simply love and light, it means that we haven't done the work yet with those cards. It's one thing to think that the world is your oyster and that the possibilities are endless. It's another thing to think that, but recognize how hard you had to work to get to that spot. You know what I mean? Like it's one thing to wake up and say, what a beautiful day it is, what a gift it is. It's another thing to wake up and say that because you know what a really bad day feels like. And that's where the sun cannot take on love and light. Because love and light, toxic positivity, and spiritual bypassing negate the truth. And you cannot negate the truth with the sun. In fact, as we get into with the more challenging side or the more shadowed side of the sun, it's going to reveal the truth whether you want it to or not. You cannot hide from the illumination that it gives. But emphasizing things like toxic positivity, just that everything's beautiful all the time, is just simply not true. And the beautiful days are more beautiful because of the bad days that you've had. I did a whole podcast episode on spiritual bypassing and toxic positivity. You can go and listen to that. But people who lean into this type of behavior where it's just good high vibes all the time, it's such a it's such a facade because no one has a good day all day, every day for all their days. You know what I mean? That is just not possible. And the sun highlights the beauty of the days, of the moments, of the power of that hunger within you because you know what it's like to feel like you couldn't take another step. You know what it feels like to think and feel that the world is against you, that the world has turned its back on you, that it's not fair, that nothing is easy for you, but it's easier for some. You know those feelings, you know those moments because we've all had them. So when the sun comes forward, we have to recognize those moments that we had those challenging thoughts or emotions, that we were in that space in that chapter, because that is what gives the sun so much more breath and meaning and drive and tremor in the muscles to run, is because we've had those moments where we felt like we would never get here to the sun. Like when I look back at my previous relationships with other men, purely sexual, romantic, whatever. No, they were not physically abusive, but they definitely thought I was too much, and they just wanted me to shut up and look cute. That's all they wanted. They did not value my spirit for how spirited it is. And I am a spirited person. I'm never going to apologize for that. I'm never going to apologize for speaking my mind. I'm never going to apologize for these things. When I am wrong, I will admit that I'm wrong. And that is what makes my relationship with Grizzly so much more significant. Granted, it's not perfect, no relationship is, but I have a man now who values how spirited I am, who loves how spirited I am. Yeah, he thinks that I'm hot and he thinks that I'm sexy, but more than that, he loves the light I shine on this world. That is the sun in action. The sun in this and in this situation with me is me recognizing that because I was willing to be alone for the rest of my life, then dim my light for subpar man. I now have a man who is not subpar. And that is where the sun takes its most beautiful meaning, is when we recognize that the meaning and the power and the beauty of the sun comes from its antithesis, comes from the moments where we haven't felt that, where we haven't had that. And in turn, that gives us even more reason to run, to chase, to feed that hunger of our life to ourselves. Because when we haven't had it and we still show up and we then get that light, that sun energy on us, it feeds that positive cycle back to us. It's like a positive um confirmation bias in the most beautiful way. Before we move on to the last wave that I read the tarot card of the sun and we go into some of the symbolism, let's talk about some of the shadows or the unwanted energies, the edges that can come with this card. This card has that just like every other tarot card. So the first is that there is a need to rest, reset, and appreciate the darkness as we understand how to move with the cycles of the moon, because that can be mirrored within ourselves. And as we move through her phases, we recognize how to also move between the cycles of light and dark. And we need that darkness, that stillness, that isolation, and even that solitude to make the beautiful parts of connection and outward energy matter even more, like we've talked about. The sun card is a beautiful card, but it can become too action-focused with an emphasis on results, outcomes, or the external. And we need that darkness, that womb space, that seed space, or going into the deep waters uh within just as much just as much as we need the light. We need to have both with us in our life because one gives meaning to the other. And this is where I said before that the moon kind of has to come first because it has to come from the internal to the external, but we have to recognize where one gives credence to the other, that the moon gives credence to the work of the sun, and vice versa. The sun card is going to illuminate our world, which is great, but it's also going to shine a light on our wounds, our past, our pains, our unfulfilled expectations, and more. We do not get to choose what the sun shines a light on. And this goes back to what I was talking about before: that the sun cannot be love and light, because if we truly take the sun and do the work with it, we recognize that it is going to inevitably reveal and illuminate these things that we don't really want a light to be shown on. But we have to sit with that because, as the devil has taught us, we need to sit with these truths so that we can grow and really evolve, not get stuck in a bubble of love and light and spiritual bypassing. The sun card has to at times reveal some of our most hard parts of ourselves to ourselves. We have to have that happen because, again, it gives weight to the moments where we feel that levity, that lightness, and that hunger for our life. We don't get one without the other. One of the other edges that can come with the sun is we start to actually just kind of get out of alignment with it. The doing, the awakening, the evolving, the integrating can start to slip away from us if we aren't taking the time to do the reflection, the understanding, and the integration. And especially if again, we're leaning more into a sense of love and light, the doing starts to become a distraction. Like, oh, look at all the work that I'm doing, but it's really not taking hold or taking root because we're not taking time to truly integrate that back into the self. So we have to make sure we're kind of keeping pace and we're not doing just for the sake of doing that there's a deeper meaning to that. The last one I would say is that ego can easily start to take the place of spirit. We've been working to kind of play spirit front and center in this evolutionary trajectory that we've been on since the very beginning. And ego can start to push spirit into the passenger seat. Now, to be clear, with the sun, we need a healthy dose of ego. We need that sense of kind of bringing identity back into the fold, that the world is our oyster, kind of front and center, me and all the possibilities that are endless for me. However, we still need spirit to be pushing the or driving the car, so to speak, because ego can start to then move into confirmation bias or short-term validation, where we are still in a space of needing and wanting to seek long-term interconnection and long-term deeper meanings, a sense of gratitude, a sense of service, a sense of love. That's what we want to be striving for, but oftentimes ego will start to shorten the path for us so that it's more readily confirming or self-validating, it's easier, or there's just less hardship along the way. And we've already discussed that so far. So that's something else that we want to keep in mind. One thing I will say is that if you are struggling to read The Sun or any tarot card in the deck, I do have a link in the show notes where you can send me either a reading that you have done from for yourself that you're kind of struggling on how to read, or a reading that you maybe got from someone else, and I can help you break it down further. Now I won't be giving out personal information. I can use an alias or just a first name, a first letter, whatever. But I have had people give me their readings that they have either done for themselves or they've had done, and they say it still isn't making sense to me, Ash. Can you kind of help me break this down further? So if you need some help with that with the Sun or again, any single tarot card, then go to the link in the show notes and we can then discuss and break down your reading together on the podcast, and it'll be helpful not only for you and me, but it'll be helpful for anyone listening as well. The last way that I read the Sun tarot card is that it is an invitation to take up space, be expansive, and to radiate your spirit outwards, just like we've been talking about. This invitation is to take everything you have learned from every other major arcana card, which is why it can't be love and light, and to uh chase and claim your wild spirit, to evolve into something bigger and to live, baby. The sun shines down and shines forward in your reading and says, if not now, then when? Don't wait for everything to be ready or right, because that day will never come. Don't wait for the approval of others because someone will always be disappointed or disagree in what you're doing or how you're doing it. Don't wait until everything else in life is fixed because some new lesson, some new learning curve, new experience is always going to pop up. So take up space, radiate your beautiful and wild spirit out into the world. It needs your unique light. This is also a reminder that as we do all of this, to be mindful and to not push everything. This is why I wanted to highlight that we need to recognize where potentially we're getting past our pace, or maybe there's some ego work that we need to do with the sun, because the lesson with the sun is co-creation, not control. The sun goes down at the end of every day, and so too must our energy retreat into that internal space for deeper alignment, for understanding, for a sense of whimsy or fantasy, for dream space. All those things need to also take place for the sun card to have a deeper meaning or to take deeper root in our lives. A new day is gonna come, and what a gift it is when a new day arrives or when the sun card comes forward in a reading. It is a reminder that with clarity comes the vitality to integrate, to grow, and to rise to new situations. Our wild reclamation is becoming full and providing sustenance for the path ahead, and we will definitely need this as we move into judgment. So for here and now, use this, take this energy, take up this space, be expansive, do not dim your light, because again, the world not only needs your light, but you are in co-creation with your evolution. And the more you shrink away from that, feeling like you're not worth it, it's too hard, whatever it is, the more it becomes out of reach. Take everything you've learned and move forward with the sun, like the baby on the horse's back, move forward in your most authentic, beautiful, and wild self. So there is one card that I want to highlight, and it is the very first image you will see when you click on the sun blog. I do that by design so you don't have to go um kind of scrolling through all of them. Although, again, I do encourage you to look at the sun in your own decks, in my decks, and form some of that symbolic understanding without the guidebook. I will always encourage that. But looking at the very first image, we have the sun from the Shadowscapes Tarot. Now, this tarot deck, first and foremost, is so incredibly beautiful. However, I wish they would redo this deck and make the card images bigger because the artist Stephanie Pew Moon Law, I think that's how you say her name, she has such incredibly detailed, in-depth images of each and every card. But because the cards are kind of small, it's hard to see all the imagery. However, I think this image is gorgeous. So let's kind of start to break it down. The first thing we see kind of right in the middle is this angel-like being creature, very beautiful, has one hand over the heart, which represents this protection, it represents this stoicism, this confidence, this kind of I'm ready for the journey ahead, which we obviously need because we're getting ready to step into judgment and the world. Two big, heavy-hitting cards, but the other hand is also open and outreach that shows that this is not in the form of ego, like we talked about. It's not merely about us. Like, yes, we are taking that healthy dose of ego, but we are extending our hands in service, in grace, and gratitude, in peace, and we're lending that outreached hand to something bigger than us. The sun will almost always show some type of steed that a being is riding. So, again, like I said, the baby with the white horse. Here we have this incredibly fabulous bird. I have no idea what kind of bird it is, but the bird represents something that I think is incredibly beautiful. The horse represents unbridled mastery and freedom, like we talked about. But the bird represents that too. And the bird represents it in the form of this type of ascension, rising into something bigger than us. And that doesn't mean that it has to be God or goddess, it could be in the form of service, it could be in the form of devoting to a cause or to a philosophy or to a way of life that we believe. It could be devoting to nature. So this doesn't have to be religious or faith based in any way. But the bird represents this ascension that we're going to see and we're going to need as we move into judgment. The bird is also just. Fabulous. Like this bird is so beautiful with these big, beautiful feathers. One of the other things I love about this image is this connection or this subtle subliminal message through the imagery to a sense of royalty, taking up space, claiming your throne, because that is kind of what we need to do within Wild Reclamation, is recognize that we are worth the ability to live a life that is authentic and on our terms. One of the things that royal people try to do, especially um men, because it was usually mostly men who were kings, gross, but they would always try to set themselves apart from their predecessors. Not to say they wouldn't take any sort of counsel or wisdom that their advisors would give them, but they still wanted to make and put their own claim on history, make their own mark on history. And that's in a way what the sun is inviting us to do is to place our own mark, our own fingerprint on life, on our life, but on just life in general. They don't ask permission, they don't um seek justification, they don't apologize. And again, this is in a very personified aspect. We're seeing the effects of government corruption right now, but in a personified space with the sun, we do want to take these energies of showing up, making our mark, and not apologizing, not backing down, and not feeling like we have to dim our light. If we are in a space where some where someone or the situation is asking for our light to be dimmed, we need to remove ourselves from that situation or from those people because the people who love us, the situations that are meant for us, would never ask this of us. We therefore see it how this energy starts to become contagious because all these other birds and these fairies are flying around this angel-like creature and this big fabulous bird. And the more that we start to do this work within ourselves, not only can we hold more of that space in other people, but the energy naturally just starts to shift organically because there's this sense of not tolerating situations, moments, people's attachments that would again ask anything less of us. And then we start to see the relationships that we have outgrown. Like I know for me, there are some relationships that I definitely have fond memories of in the past, but in the present, it's like it no longer fits and no longer serves because I'm not in a space to try to push those parts of me down. I'm not going to try to again make myself small. And the people who love me don't ask me, don't ask that of me. And we see it how that's kind of building this congregation of rising energy that's so important as we get to judgment, that we have this sense of devotion and support. And then we have the rays coming out of the sun with the circles kind of moving in all these different angles, which shows this sense of connection, of unity, of strength, of protection, and also of those cycles that we talked about. But those cycles kind of lead to this unending or this timelessness that we just are gonna keep doing this type of work until we're no longer here. And some people may hate that idea. For me personally, I love it because it's a reminder that because the work is never done, I don't have to place these expectations on myself that I have to get to any certain spot. I just have to keep showing up every day and do a little better. And that is what I try to do. And some days I'm not perfect, but no one is. And the more that I look at this image, the more that I'm just kind of reminded that these circles and this connection can be found in incredibly small ways, and the small ways serve the big cycle and the big purpose and that bigger vision. So that is the sun card. I hope that you enjoy this card as much as I do. I love this card so much. It is truly a beautiful card. Who does not want this card to come forward in a reading? It's spectacular. Now I'm going to end with the poem The Sun from my book Major Arcana, a poetry collection. So I'm therefore going to say thank you now to all of my patrons: Depp Guy, Bobby McDermott, Lisa Zimmerman, Nicole Smith, Tracy Lanham, Kim Hartnett, Chris Ree, Miranda Snow, Colleen Tue, Charlie Ruggles, Shannon Konendike, and Danica Favorite. Thank you all so much for your support in me and in Wolf Child Magic. It means more than you know. You guys are all a son in my life, and you are as well, dear listener. Thank you so much. And now enjoy my poem, The Sun, again from my book, Major Arcana, a poetry collection. The Sun. It is a gift, heavy and full of promise, like a decorative box on Christmas morning when the heat is nowhere to be found. As I sit in the shade, a cool blanket against the golden blaze, I have claimed a small space of devotion, to the grass reflecting its green spectrum, not concerned with neighboring asphalt or cinder block, most likely laden with chemicals of some kind, to the butterfly with its black and yellow adornment, so bright even the fire in the sky is called to soften just a bit. In that stark contrast on the satin of the swallow tail, I see this as the whole of the world, shadow and light, abundance and vacancy together, in a world always grieving, people picking at the wounds just to see the meat underneath. My devotion span expands little by little in a warm breeze. It may not be found in any book or song, but I am sure that this small sliver of wildness is to touch the real heaven.
