We are at the end, closing the chapter of the deep dives into the Major Arcana. Here we stand at The World’s threshold—where completion becomes a beginning, the cycle turns once again, and Judgment’s awakening turns into a rising. We have moved through the journey, and like the Fool. We stand on the precipice of the unknown.
Main Themes:
• the world as closure, embodiment, and a doorway
• hinge from Judgment to the World and back to the Magician
• readiness as a myth and why movement matters
• integration across past, present, and future
• shadows of superiority, fear, and detachment
• beginner’s mind, play, and curiosity as tools
• honoring pollinators, and pop culture references like Hocus Pocus
• poem offering to seal the cycle

SPEAKER_00Hello, and thank you for tuning in to the Wolf Child Magic Podcast. My name is Ashley, your tarot reader, Rocky Mountain Witch, and overall Wolf Child, and I thank you for being here with me today. Wherever you are at, of course, and as always, I hope you are well. I'm so grateful that you are here, and I'm grateful that we had a snowstorm yesterday. It was such a beautiful Colorado snow. I have to have winter. For me, I need the four seasons. Now, that's not to say that, you know, if you live somewhere that doesn't really have those seasons or doesn't feel them as much, that the subtle energies still can't be tapped into. Of course they can. But for me, just living in Colorado, Colorado winters are some of the most beautiful winters that exist. So the fact that we haven't had a winter really at all has been weighing heavily on me. I've talked about this in my wolf pack groups and my, you know, groups that I host and stuff, that we need that time of darkness and of rest, of incubation. We need that seasonal shift so that we can go forward into spring with that energy that's been restored in our kind of metaphorical hibernation to invigorate and go forward once we get into spring. And it's been hard to just keep going through the days with this weird 40s, 50s mild, temperate winter. I just don't I don't like it. I don't like it. So the fact that we actually had a winter at all, I am just so thrilled by. Today's episode marks our end of discussing and going into the deep dives of the major arcana. We are officially at the world card. It's been a while, it's been a long time coming, and I know that I have already evolved in just the way that I give these deep dives to you on the podcast, on the blog. Now I'm getting them going on the YouTube channel. I have evolved in even just discussing them and talking to you about them, which feels so juicy and yummy and good and right. It feels exactly like what we're gonna be talking about today. It feels juicy, it feels yummy, it feels like completion and it feels like fulfillment and integration, embodiment, accomplishments, evolution, new beginnings. It feels like all of that. And this is why I love talking about the tarot because we see the journey play out. I am sitting here reflecting on and seeing the journey play out of when I first started talking about the fool a couple years ago, and now I am sitting here talking to you about the world, and I see the journey. I see the circle and the cycle that I have been going through. That is what makes tarot alive. That is what makes it more than just this flat confining practice. It's not that, it is an actual movement, it's a muscle in us, it's a part of our journey, it's a part of our day. I I love it. Let's get into it. But before I do, a couple quick questions or asks of you. The first is that if you like this podcast, please rate it, share it, do what you're gonna do. The deep dives have again become such a wonderful part of me sitting here and talking to the screen and sitting with my microphone. I love it so much. And I've been again evolving in this journey. I've been doing it, I've been putting it in, and the podcast episodes are better. I'm trying to edit better, sound better, be better, the blogs are better. We're bringing all of that now to YouTube. But the best way for this podcast to grow is by you rating and sharing, by you engaging with me in algorithm love. That's the best way for it to grow because you're telling the collective of listeners out there, I like this podcast, you may like it too. So if you could please give me a rating, a share, anything at all, that would be so appreciated. The second thing I want to mention, it's not really an ask, it's more of a mention that on the 21st, I will be at Rocky Mountain Punk from 12 to 5 for their first pop-up market at the new location. I have been just beyond and blown away, grateful at having a wolf den, having an office space at my favorite store. You know, can't really beat that. And now I have it where I can sit with you in person. There's tea, there's hot cocoa, it's got all the Ashley Faye type of vibes to it. I mean, it's just truly a mirror up to my heart and up to my practice. So if you are looking for a tarot reading and you want to come see the store, if you haven't seen it, if if you want to come celebrate their first pop-up event, then come see me and Rocky Mountain Punk on March 21st from 12 to 5. That is when it's gonna be happening. And now let's get into this episode. I should also say that if you are brand new to the Wolf Child Magic podcast, welcome a howl to you. But I would definitely recommend going back and starting with the fool because the fool is the genesis of the journey. The fool is the why. Why are we moving through the magician and now ending with the world, at least in the major arcana? The fool moves through every single card within the tarot deck at card zero. He encompasses nothing and everything together. So I would go back and start at the fool, or at least go back and start at judgment, because we're gonna see at how judgment has been building us up to this energy that we are now sitting in with the world. The blog post on the world is also linked in the show notes because one, it serves as my outline, but it's also there in case you want to go back and read some of this content. I'm also now trying to start moving, as I said, the deep dives to YouTube. So then you will have this content in video, audio, and written format. That is everything all at once. It is the trifecta of content that I can give to you. So I'm working through going back and doing all of this on YouTube, but I would, like I said, go back and consider going to the world or going to judgment, maybe to the devil, since we're in that third line. Um, but the blog post is linked in the show notes so that you can go back. You can also see all of my world depictions from across my decks. So the blog post is fun in that sense because you do get the visuals of the tarot cards. But here we are with the world card at the end of the major arcana. The threshold is opening, and here we stand. Here we stand. We have gone from the magician at the very beginning of line one, the creation line. Again, the full moves through all of it. We have moved from the magician, and now we are back kind of in that cycle again at the world. We're moving and coming full circle when we get to the world. With the magician, we have this recognition that everything can be used for creative potential. There's this level of inquisition, of inquiry, of curiosity, but also this level of confidence, of awakening to the magic that is within us, the magic that is within the world, within another person, within our cat or our dog, in the tree that we like to sit by when we are on our break at lunch, whatever it is, we recognize with the magician that there is this magic interwoven into everything. And then the physical, tangible world is an anchor that drops us into that magic. And we are looking at how we can use the physical to connect to the spiritual. Like, how can we, as above, so below, how can we engage with the magic? How can we awaken to it and start to tap into it? And now at the world, we see at how we have done that through every single card. We have moved and we have mastered, we have acquired, we have learned, we have built ourselves up, we have grown, we have literally fucking evolved, and now we stand here at the threshold of the world and say, I am ready to begin again. One of the ways that we start to also come back full circle to the magician is we realize now how deeply connected we are to the forces of the world, to the forces of that magic that we tap into at the very beginning with the magician, and we see it how that initiation into connection with the magician has helped get us here again where we are at this new threshold, we are stepping across into this new phase, this new unknown, and what we have now is hindsight, what we now have is experience, but more than anything, what we have is validation that sounds a little surface level, and I'm trying to make my brain pick up a different word, but what we have now, when we get to the world, is a confirmation that every twist and turn brought us here, that every moment that we felt lost, we were actually so deeply in this path to coming home, and that is what I love when we get to the world on this cyclical movement from the magician and now kind of coming to the world and we start again. The world to magician hinge not only confirms that when we start out again, what we have is our tools, what we have is the things around us to use for creative potential, and that is what the magician speaks to. But the magician is also speaking to lessons that previously come from the world, which which is as above so below. That what happens in the biggest of spiritual cosmic reaches is gonna happen in the most micro and in the most mundane, meaning that everything is this mirror, everything is a brick in the road to help us move to the next phase, to embrace the unknowns and to continue in this cycle of creation, destruction, and evolution. And that is where the world to magician hinge becomes so pivotal because we start to see it how now we have that hindsight, we have that experience, we have the knowledge, we have the wisdom, and we get to begin again in a way where we're excited, we get to begin again in a way where we embrace the journey. You know, we get to be the maker of our path, and then the magician helps the making start to happen. It's like the chef going into the kitchen, gathering all the ingredients, we start to step into the kitchen thinking about what we're gonna make, and then the magician says, Let's see what we got and make it work. The other hinge that is important to look at is the hinge from judgment to the world. And as I said, you can go back and listen to the judgment episode. I highly recommend you do that. But working with judgment is this trumpeting us into the divine when we are in the energies of judgment, we are being pulled out of our own out of our old skins and awakening to our wild reclamation. The evolution is happening with this card. We find purpose, we find freedom to grow past who we were and become who we desire to be, we find absolution. When working with judgment, we are shifted and pulled against the riptides, away from the known, the comfortable, or the conforming. Literally, with judgment, we have to do away with any final threads that would hinder our evolution from taking place. And this is where judgment speaks to freedom, but also in a sense of service to the divine, because one, we recognize that we didn't walk this path alone or isolated, but we also recognize that the best way to give back, to be in this cycle of as above, so below, the best way to share in the abundance, in the evolution, is to be part of it in a more collective way. And so once we do that, we see that there is no reason to fear change, that there's no reason to fear the unknown when judgment comes forward, because we can see how we in fact are being encouraged to embrace the flow of life and rise to meet it with our wild spirits. We elevate ourselves towards a form of connection or awareness that couldn't come from anywhere else other than standing at that point of changes or shifts or alignments asking to be made or being made, and then making them, saying yes, and letting that surrender kind of carry us to that homecoming within the self that's very sacred and again divine. So we've done all this work with judgment. We look at where this higher awakening in our evolution is happening, not only for ourselves now, but just for how can I contribute? What can I give? What are my gifts? How can I be of service? How can I connect to another, to a cause, to animals, to nature, to whatever my belief or my faith system is. How can I step and walk this road deepened, aligned, and connected because it's not only about me. So we're integrating that higher connection and we're shepherding that connection between the internal selves and our external world. Like we've kind of moved into this alignment with judgment. Judgment helps us use the messages of the divine, these messages that we have been curating since the beginning and applying them to the next phase. That now, here at the end of this chapter, we're embracing these energies and and it's helping us channel them towards something new. Like I said, now we don't fear because we've been through so much and we have hindsight that we got this. We we can we can figure it out. We don't worry because we recognize how we aren't isolated or alone, we are not separate from these or other divine forces in this world. We're a part of them. We are living our own unique lives, but we don't hesitate, or even if we do hesitate, we recognize that the hesitation or the fear or the worry will pass. And we won't live in fear or worry our whole lives. This is a moment we're gonna feel it, and then we're gonna still rise to meet these unknowns. Now, the world is this open door to those possibilities. It is that desire to run in our legs after after the evolution has strengthened us and taken hold. When we hinge from judgment to the world, judgment, we kind of again do all of that that work, that rising of energy, we find that freedom, and then the world card comes in and says, Go for it. Fucking go for it. What do you have to lose? What do you have to fear? And this is where I mean, I guess I'll just before I even really start talking about some of the ways I read um the world card. One of the shadow aspects or one of the things that some people may struggle with with the world is the people who don't maybe like change or don't like to face the unknowns, or even if they are facing unknowns, they don't want the struggle. They want everything to be a straight paved road with no peaks or valleys. When a turn is coming up, you're gonna get a roadmap, a sign that says change in your life is happening in five miles or in two months. It doesn't work like that. And even if it did, that sounds really fucking boring. I'm not saying I love all the changes in the world right now, of course not. There's so much chaos, and sometimes the hinge of judgment and into the world can feel a little chaotic. We may not feel completely ready. So that is normal. However, when these cards come forward, it is a very clear reminder that there is no such thing as ready. There really isn't. We are gonna have moments where we just have to go forward and we have to embrace this shift in our life, and we have to recognize that who we were before is no longer. We may not know exactly all the knowns, we may not know everything that's gonna happen when we walk into the next phase of our life, into the next day, into the next month, whatever it is. But we at least know that if we got here, we can get there. One of the first ways that I read the world card is that it speaks to completion and embodiment of yourself into that higher purpose. You are now in synchronicity with the earth, with universal energies. You could apply your faith-based um belief here if you choose, but either way, you are in synchronicity with those energies to fulfill your desires and needs. The world card embodies unity and completion, and we have seen this part of our lives and our journey through. This narrative has now been written. Now we are encouraged to find the inspiration to write a new chapter in our lives, and this is where feeling ready comes back into play because when we really accept and work with and integrate these energies of the world, we recognize that we're not ever gonna be fully ready and we just start. We just start. We don't wait for all of the checks to or all the boxes to be checked, we don't wait for all the T's to be crossed and all the I's to be dotted. We don't wait for those things, we just begin again because we do recognize now that being ready is a facade, that the readiness comes in as we move through those lines of the majors and we just keep going. When the world comes forward, it represents that what we have been that what we are meant to learn, to integrate, to understand from this part of our lives has been received. We have taken it, we have shed the skin of the old self, and now along with the trust that we have been building from the start of the evolution line, we are taking that integration, we are taking that integration and applying it to the next phase of our life. So at the start of the evolution line is the devil, and the devil is our great liberator. Um I learned so much wonderful things from Lindsay Mack. You all know who she is, she's like famous now. She's like a famous tarot reader, which I wouldn't love to be inspired to be. But she really did teach me that the devil is our great liberator because we have to remove the chains. We have to liberate ourselves and free ourselves from these chains so that we can walk across the threshold of the world and begin again at the magician. So we have to take all that we've applied and integrate it now. When this card comes forward, it's an invitation to go forward with confidence in harmony. Between past, present, and future. And just with this force, this hunger, this howl in our throats, that we cannot go back. We can only go forward. The next way that I read the world card is that it speaks to integration and wholeness. We have taken what we can from this space, this cycle, this situation, and we're now ready to rise into something new. And we've already done the rising with judgment. We've already moved past the old, and now we are at the threshold of the new. We have risen and shed that old skin, and we're ready to fly, to experiment, to play, to create, and begin this next phase of our journey, even if that is just beginning a new day. You know what I mean? Sometimes beginning a new day is a threshold enough. Sometimes, even just waking up and getting out of bed is incredibly hard, but doing it is such a victory. And I don't say that in any way, obviously, to be facetious. I have absolutely been there. I think we all have been there that some days you just want to shut the world out, you just want to just stay. You just want to cocoon, you know, and you don't want to emerge and be the butterfly. And I totally understand that sometimes we do just need to cocoon, obviously. But when that time comes, sometimes we just have to, you know, we just have to take the situation and run with it. We have to kind of grab it and and go, grab it and go, and just be willing to go on the next journey. And when we join those higher energies, then we have that rising into the divine with judgment, the evolution has already taken place. Like we have already been changed. So again, we can't go back um because we've already done all the work. And this change has been again occurring since the magician. But the third line is where it starts to take hold again with the devil, like we talked about. And now with the world card, we recognize that this chapter is closed. We can bring the beautiful memories, we can bring the laughter, the wisdom gained from the lessons learned, and the fondness of the experience, but we cannot go back. And so when this card comes forward, there is a need to recognize where our changes have occurred and to use that recognition as a push forward, a recognition of the change has already happened. So I'm going to cross this threshold. I'm going to take this potential, I'm going to wake up and start my day and just and just go forward. There's nothing left to do, there's nothing left to experience from the day before. I rise again and we take all that we've learned or experienced and apply it to the new potentials that are coming in. The completion of the cycle that we've been through is what creates the space for the journey to begin again. The last way that I read the world card is that it speaks to new journeys, experiences, or ways of being are the way forward. Again, we are no longer this same person. It indicates that this transition towards new phases, chapters, experience, a day, a moment, a relationship, whatever it is. We couldn't get to that part of our journey without going through all that we did. And if we kind of refuse or don't embody or integrate the change within the self on these deeper levels, we are undoing everything that we've been through. Starting at the magician, our actions and our choices have defined this journey. We haven't done it completely alone or isolated, like we said, but our actions and our choices, the good ones, the bad ones, have shaped this journey. And standing here at this threshold, we are given such a gift. Because now we have hindsight. Now we have wisdom. Now we have the fondness and the memories, maybe some new friendships, now we have a deeper love for ourselves, we have more gratitude. We may have some hard truths that we had to learn. It's a mixed bag. That's how life is, you know. And standing here at this threshold, having risen up into this awakening and into this rising energy with judgment, we're now on the precipice of beginning again, like the fool. We're kind of in this threshold of embracing full energy because we're open to the potential. There's these unknowns, and we are marked, but we are also unmarked. We will get into being marked with the Hebrew letter, but we're marked in the sense of we have been changed. But now we're in this essence of being unmarked because we don't know what's coming in. Life doesn't give us an itinerary, and it shouldn't. That's what gives life meaning. And I'm not gonna sit here and say that everything works out for the best because that really panders to some love and life bullshit that I just don't agree with. But I will say that things often have a way of happening and then ending kind of as they're supposed to. At least in the sense of things essentially work out. It may not be everything, we may still carry pain and grudges, resentments, anger. Of course. Again, that's human. We're not meant to not feel. So there are certainly moments where we look back on those moments of our life, and those pains and those triggers and those wounds are right there, and yet we still need to go forward, changed by that pain, but also the beauty that was there in certain spaces as well. Again, we have to move forward with that mixed bag into that full energy, and then kind of begin again with the magician. The world card says that as we embrace these new journeys, experiences, these ways of being, we have been changed, that skin has been shed, that we we are given this gift. It truly is. The world card is such a gift because not only is there really nothing else to learn or to do with this old phase, with this old part of ourself, but it's also this moment to embrace that fool energy to begin again. What it requires us of us is a level of trust. This card invites us into the new and into the unknown, and fear is understandable, but it can become a shadow aspect of the world card when it stagnates us from moving forward. Fear of the unknown in life is a common emotion to have, but we still need to do it. We still need to move forward, we still need to wake up and go into the next day and remind ourselves of how far we have come. And I know that that sounds very easy in the moment. I get that. I get that there are privileges that I have that I can turn some parts of the world off. Um, so not saying that we're all on equal playing fields here. I'm simply saying that at certain moments we may find it very hard. Again, we just want a cocoon, we just want to stay in this one space because it's unchanging and the world is fucking chaotic and it's run by stupid idiots, and we just want things to be still. We just want to stand on solid ground for one moment, and again, it doesn't really work like that. We kind of need to move in the flow, take rest when we can, of course, recognize what our needs are, but also to recognize at some point am I resting or am I taking a break? Am I doing you know what am I doing and why? And am I kind of staying back because I don't want to embrace this unknown? That's where we have to kind of get honest. Another shadow aspect of the world could be um a feeling or kind of taking on an identity of superiority rather than integration. So again, the world card is such a gift because it gives us hindsight, it gives us the wisdom, the lessons, and says, now go into this next phase and do what you're gonna do. Go do it, and we can move forward stronger and a little more aligned than before, but that doesn't mean that we know every answer. And now, and it also doesn't mean that now we are the experts on all these topics. We don't know the details or the intricacies on someone else's journey. Okay, we can recognize again, like certainly like privileges and stuff. We can recognize where glaring differences are, where subtle differences may even be, but we don't know what another person's journey is like. We haven't walked in their shoes. And the world card in shadow can show up as thinking that we now have all the answers of wanting or expecting others to walk their journey the way that we walked ours because it worked for us. Well, we can certainly be a support and an ally. That goes back to that level of service that we talked about, that goes back to how we can show up in our ecosystem and promote a greater good. We can do all of that, but that doesn't mean that we have all the answers. That doesn't mean that other people should walk their paths the way that we walked ours, right? And oftentimes I would say that superiority is really just projection. I and everyone has certainly known people in their life that act like this, that you talk to them and they are just they have every single answer you could ever ask. They just hash out. I mean, I've had people literally hash, you know, advice to me, and then they'll be like, Well, why didn't you take my advice? And I'm like, because it didn't really work for me. And then they're like, well, why, you know, and then they like get offended, and it's like, why are you so concerned about what I'm doing over here? Like, if I feel the need to take your advice, I certainly will, but it that doesn't mean I'm required to. Um, and oftentimes that superiority, that's that sense of high and mighty, expecting others to walk the journey the way that we walked ours, that often is just deep-seated projection, you know, like just going into the shadow of the world. Um, there could be certainly a projection that comes through. We could also have detachment, unrealistic expectations, or the removal of aspects like ours of ourselves, like play, curiosity, or inspiration, that those things are juvenile and childish, and we now must do things only in serious ways. And it's like, no, play and joy and curiosity in that beginner's mindset is one of the greatest gifts we can ever have in moving into new phases and learning something new and having that excitement to begin again. That's one of the best things that can help us. So, in a way, we actually need to return to the beginner's mindset and childlike energies with the world because and just and just go hang around children, because children and babies are truly the best at this. They just naturally do this. Like they're just like, Yep, I'm here, I'm showing up in all my authenticity and all my imperfections, and I'm making a whole world out of a box and some paints, and it's beautiful alchemy happening when you are around children. So we need to be able to begin again and see ourselves like the fool, that blank canvas, that not being marked for the next phase, and the world and the journey is going to make its mark, but in this moment, we kind of it would be a good thing if we could just kind of accept that this is a gift. Although sometimes hindsight can be a burden, but either way, however it happens, showing up like this in a way is a gift because it means we get to step across a new threshold, be curious, play, have inspiration, but we also get to maybe do things a little bit more in alignment with what we want. We get to do things a little bit more aligned to what our needs are and have a maybe a little authenticity of this is how I know I want to make my mark, or this is how I am being inspired, and I'm going to use that inspiration to open this doorway instead of that doorway. So looking at some other things with the world before we go on to the symbolism, the astrological ruler of the world is Saturn, which governs discipline, authority, long-term success, tradition, karma, and more. And we've seen all of these things play out. The Hebrew letter is Tav, which indicates we are marked or changed by spirit. This is what I was talking about before. We are physically changed, like we are not the same people that we were before the world card comes forward. Like we recognize where even very subtle changes. It doesn't have to be like, oh, I went from being um a meat eater to a vegan or whatever. You know, it doesn't have to be something like that. It can be very small, it can be very subtle, but with the world, we are being tasked to take that pause and see where we have been changed, but we also want to, like I said just a few minutes ago, invite that full energy in of we're changed and now there's a blank canvas for us to begin again, and we hold to this covenant as we go forward. I just want to read this little portion, this single paragraph from Rachel Pollock's Tarot Wisdom, Spiritual Teachings and Deeper Meanings in relation to the triad, which is the chariot temperance, and then the world. They all are in that column as the last cards within their line. And it reads The Triad of 7, 14, and 21, the chariot, temperance, and the world symbolizes three victories: the first over the challenges of life, the second over our fears and limitations, especially with the fear of death, and finally the victory for everyone that occurs when any one person achieves genuine spiritual understanding. In Buddhist traditions, when Guatama became enlightened under the Bodhi tree, all of nature and all the gods celebrated. In the world, small S self finally gives way, gives way finally, excuse me, to big S self, a sense of all existence as a single radiant being. So that is the world card. Before we move on to the symbolism, I just want to kind of wrap this up here and say that the world card, when it comes forward, is such a gift because even if you don't feel ready to begin again, if you don't feel like you have completed everything in this chapter, in this moment, in this day, the world card is a reminder that everything is cyclical, that every part in our lives we can return to again at some point. But right now we need to open the threshold into new possibilities. The world reminds us that our evolution is kind of always taking place, and once we move through the lines of the tarot creation, destruction, and evolution, we obviously have some very key moments that resonate as this was an emperor moment, this was a hanged man moment, this was a devil moment, whatever it is. But then we start to realize that slowly it's all it's all kind of bleeding together. The cross-pollination is happening. And one final thing that I want to just remind you with the f with the world, I almost said the fool, uh, with the world, is that when this card comes forward, it's also a reminder to relinquish. And this may be the very thing that we have to, you know, kind of step across the threshold and do away with, but it's a reminder that we need to be in the flow of the moment, this chapter, this phase, yes. But we also need to recognize where we need to do things on our own terms and to push away this notion that like I was saying before, with people who expect us to do it their way because it worked for them, we need to recognize how we need to step across this threshold with our authentic selves intact. We need to move back into the cycle, begin again. The old skin has shed. But we need to begin in a way that serves and honors us. We need to do things in a way and have our actions and our choices mirror this in a way that honors who we truly are. As someone who is obviously very nature-based, is really introverted when I'm not working, and enjoys a very simple life. For me, beginning again would not include something like going to the bars all the time. Just very surface dumb example. But you get what I'm what I'm pointing at here, that we have to do things in a way that honors our deepest authentic truths, but might still push us in in new ways. So that is something that I am considering, and just kind of looking back at my journey of giving you the deep dives, I can see where now this card, not to say that the deep dives are done, I'm going to be moving on now to the minors, but there is this sense of beginning again with the minors in a way that really honors me. That doesn't need to make the episode, I mean, I need to make it sound good, otherwise, who would listen? But I also need to recognize that it doesn't need to be perfect, and it doesn't need to reflect what Lindsay Mack is doing. It doesn't need to reflect what anyone else is doing, you know? It just needs to reflect what I'm doing because this is me. This is Wolfchild Magic. This is my platform. And that is what I encourage and invite with you. The world card encourages us to go forward into this next day, this new beginning, this new possibility with our authenticity, our unique spirit leading the way, because our unique spirit was forged from the journey that we have been through before, but it's always been there. It's innate. Evolution for me is going to be different than the evolution for you, even if we go through similar experiences because we're different people. And that is what the world teaches us that we shine more brightly and we show up more fully in that completion, in that wholeness, in that achievement when we allow our authentic spirits to be the drivers of the seat that's pushing us forward, that's driving us forward. So please take all of this and sit with it, ruminate on it, pull the world card out in your own tarot decks and see what you see. I would like to now switch and talk about some of the symbolism from the world card depictions from across my decks. You can go to the blog post, which is linked in the show notes, and see the world card from all my decks. So let's see what we see here in the world card. The one that always is at the top of the blog is one of my personal favorites. It's one of the depictions that I think most beautifully represents the card's symbolism, what the card speaks to. And now the Guardian of the Night tarot has taken it two times in a row because last month, when I did Judgment, we also had the Guardian of the Night with the snake shedding and coming out of its skin. It's so judgment energy and it's beautiful. This depiction shows a beautiful, I think it's a bumblebee. Kind of looks like one. Could be any bee though, but it's definitely a bee species. But I just want to read you what the guidebook says. It says, you know that feeling you get after the last dinner guest leaves after an epic evening of great food and conversation? You're stuffed, exhausted. And exhilarated all at the same time. That is the feeling the world brings to your situation. It is an energy of complete and utter satisfaction. Not only did something end on a positive note, but you were left feeling grateful and in love with life. A long journey has come to an end, a victorious end, and although, yes, there are new experiences to be had, for now you are given permission to simply bask in the joy that comes from a much-earned success. When I created this card, I wanted everyone to feel when holding it a celebration of life and excitability that comes from the hope for a brighter future. Call upon the bee's busy, productive energy to help you reach that ending you desire, as this small but mighty creature can help you taste the sweetness of success. On the bottom of this card, you will find a grasshopper to represent the abundance and prosperity you will achieve from your efforts. The grasshopper is also a symbol of being true to yourself, living your life, not imitating others as your life is about to take a leap forward. So B symbolizes collaboration, community, prosperity, sweetness of life, and grasshopper symbolizes prosperity, good fortune, abundance, and authenticity. This image is just so incredibly sweet. Again, you'll see it in the blog post. I will also have it on social media. But we have this beautiful bumblebee in the center. There's a sun or a globe or something that is behind the bee. And then there's just all these uh fireflies, there's all these beautiful flowers. The grasshopper is at the bottom, but it's actually really hard to see. I don't know if it got lost in the formatting of the cards with the border, but it's very hard to see. You can just kind of see the back legs poking up and out a little bit above the R in the word world. Uh, so we can't really see the grasshopper, but the image of this bee is just so wonderful. The reason why this is one of my favorite depictions, as opposed to some of the other ones that follow some of the more traditional symbolism, is because one bees are just some of the most underrated creatures, little beings on this planet. They provide so much sweetness to our life. And I love that she in the guidebook says, let me turn back here just one second. She says here that um when I created this card, I wanted everyone to feel when holding it, it is a celebration of life and excitability that comes from the hope of a brighter future, and sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees. And that's one of the things that can be kind of a hitch with the world is at this new beginning, like we said before, that fear of the unknown is normal, it is even valid because we our brains are just naturally designed to want things given all the information and provide all the details before we begin so we know what we're getting into. But one of the other things too is at the world card, you know, again, this hinge into the new, it can almost just be overwhelming. It can be overwhelming. And one of the ways that helps that overwhelm, that helps that fear is small things, small forms of beauty, like honey, like wildflowers, like a cup of coffee. These little beings, pollinators, insects, the honeybee, are so underrated because they literally bring beauty forward into our world. And I'm not saying that the tiger or the wolf or the whale or the bear or the snow leopard aren't beautiful. Of course they are. Of course they are. And certain species, like the wolf, is a keystone species, meaning that they affect the ecosystem in a greater capacity than some of the other species that live in that ecosystem and they contribute to the health of their ecosystem in a greater way, again, in a greater capacity. But the pollinators make the world, they shape the world. Like I was just listening, or I was just watching a TikTok, and this guy, I don't know if he's a scientist, he's definitely an advocate for the rainforest. You know, he he brings awareness to it. And he was on one of the late night shows talking about how he was in the rainforest and they were at this one edge where all of these trees have been cut down for soy, for beef, for agriculture. And they took all these uh, you know, trees away. They cut down the trees, took them away, and these are millennium trees. These are trees that have been there forever, and they are now gone, meaning that we will never not only get them again in our lifetime, we may never see these trees again in the timeline of humanity's ability to survive in humanity's survival, the world's survival, these trees will never be there again, which is such a heartbreaking fact. And I'm not trying to bring all this downer shit in, but it's kind of important because that is the fact. And then he talked about how all of these insects and hummingbirds and all of these little pollinators that when you look at the majesty of the rainforest, no one's thinking about a single insect or a single hummingbird, but these animals scatter seeds across the across the rainforest floor, they pollinate, and these creatures help bring the beauty and the biodiversity to life, they literally shape our planet. So, what a better way to show and speak for evolution. And again, we we've already talked about how with the world we recognize that we don't do it alone. I know that the evolution of myself into greater capacities, so many, so much behind the scenes is my morning cup of coffee. My morning cup of coffee where I can just enjoy something that has no greater purpose other than to give me some fuel and some sweetness for my day. You know what I mean? It just elevates my spirit, even a little bit, even on my hardest days, like when I was dealing with the cats. Obviously, a cup of coffee didn't just take away my pain, but it was a small, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny little bit of relief in an otherwise really hard, really shitty day. And so, with the world card having the bee, it's it's so beautiful and it's so perfect because these beings, these creatures, help us evolve. They literally bring beauty forward for us to take and to use as anchor points in our own evolution. So this is a way to consider where we can be like the honeybee and provide sweetness for someone else, for a greater purpose, for something outside of us, because we have to start thinking more collectively in the world card, right? The other thing, the other reason why I love this depiction is because if the honeybee goes, we go. And I don't know, I don't know how to make this point any clearer, but um we need to start collectively caring and giving a fuck about this planet, and I'm not just saying that to be some tree-hugging hippie, even though I am. Um, again, if the honey bee goes, we go. We lose all of this shit. If we lose the rainforest, we lose um so much. The consequences are already so dire, you know? And so we need to start just kind of giving a fuck about the future and having hope for the future because we're a part of it, and that is such world energy, this recognition that we are not separate from nature, we are not separate from the world, we are a part of it and we are a part of it in such a beautiful way, in the ways of the divine. We are a part of this world in a way where if we only get this one life. Now, I'm not trying to come up against anyone's faith base. Um, people believe what they believe, but for me, if we only get this one life, I don't want to spend that life sending money to wars overseas and living in concrete and not having any fucking beauty in my life. You know what I mean? Like, I'm not trying to be preachy here, I'm really not. I'm simply trying to highlight the fact that the world card highlights how so interconnected we are to as above, so below, and that includes the tiny, tiny, tiny little pollinators like the bee that brings so much beauty into our life and into our days. And I love this depiction. This is why it is my favorite depiction because it brings so much real world shit. And the image is beautiful, of course, but it brings so much real world shit to the symbolism of this card, and that is something we can use and should use when we are working with this card because, as I always say, the tarot was not stagnant, it's not confining, it is a part of how we show up in this world if we let it. And I want my days for sure to have some of this energy of the bee where there's this pollination between me and the other rest of the world where I pollinate and give sweetness, and then I take that sweetness and I give beauty, I take beauty in. That is why I love this depiction so much. It's my absolute favorite. The next depiction that I want to share with you before we close out with the poem of the world from my book, Major Arcana Poetry Collection. It is going to be in the show notes, but the next one that I want to share is the very next one down on the left-hand side, is the world from the Hocus Pocus Tarot. Some people may not like some of the more nostalgic pop culture tarot decks, they're not as serious, you know, and I personally love these. I love these, and one of the reasons why I love them is because I love stories, I love books, I love movies, I love being caught up in a narrative, and Hocus Pocus is one of the best movies of all time. I'm just gonna say it, it's an incredible movie, it has stood up. We still talk about Winifred Sanderson and the Sanderson sisters today. The second one wasn't so good, but the first one is still just Chef's kiss. So this depiction will not make sense if you have not seen this movie. Now, if you have not seen this movie, pause this and go and watch it. Run, do not walk. It is so good. It's such a good movie. It slaps, it slaps not even during Halloween. I watch this when I need a pick-me-up. This is one of my comfort movies. This movie's incredible. But so go see that and then return to us. But the depiction shows young Thackeray Binks and Emily. Now, at the start of the movie in 1693, we have the Sanderson sisters played by Bet Midler, Kathy Najimi, Sarah Jessica Parker, and they are known as the witches, and they need to basically suck the souls of the young children in order to stay young and beautiful and live forever. Thackeray Binks sees his sister being coerced or basically kind of manipulated to come into the home of the Sanderson sisters, and he knows that this cannot be good. So he tries to go and save her, and he is not successful, and Emily dies. And then the Sanderson sisters curse Thackeray Binks to spend the rest of eternity. He cannot die from this curse. He cannot die, and he has to spend the rest of eternity as a cat. And I mean, we love cats over here, but that is actually quite a cruel curse that he can't even be given the peace of death to be reunited with his family because his parents have not died, but they will, and he cannot be reunited with his parents, with Emily. He has to spend the rest of eternity as a cat. It's again, it's a very cruel curse when you think about it. They play it up as kind of comedic for the movie, of course, and the movie is incredibly funny, but it's actually kind of cruel. And so Thackeray Binks lives for hundreds of years as a cat. He again cannot die. And then Max and Danny bring the Sanderson sisters back. A virgin lit the black flame candle. The virgin is Max, the again young kind of teenager boy. The Sanderson sisters come back, and now they have to defeat the Sanderson sisters again. But they have Thackeray Binks now. Thackeray Binks has been trying to do whatever he can hundreds of years later, and even as a cat, to prevent the Sanderson sisters from coming back and harming children. Thackeray Binks is truly the hero of this movie, in my personal opinion. But at the end, they all defeat the Sanderson sisters once again. And because they have been defeated, this happens. The guidebook for this card says the world ushers in a deeper understanding of the universe and your place in it. It tells of what is and all that will be, though it may be the ultimate end of a journey. It also speaks of a readiness for a new beginning. Thackeray Binks embodies this stage when his soul is able to move on to the next life. I love this depiction so much. Again, sometimes the nostalgic decks, if you don't know the movie, it wouldn't make sense. But for those who do know it, I just think it is the most perfect encapsulation of the world energy because of how it brings this closure, this peace, this prosperity, this beautiful ending for the Sanderson sisters, for Max and Danny, but especially for our wonderful Thackeray Binks, who's able to finally be reunited with his sister and with his family in spirit. And he gets to spend the rest of eternity at peace and with them, those that he loves. So that is the world card. I'm going to end here with my world poem from again my book Major Arcana, a poetry collection. But before I do that, I want to, of course, give a thanks, a shout out to my wolflings, my patrons, and those are Bobby McDermott, Lisa Zimmerman, Tracy Lanham, Kim Hartnett, Chris Ree, Miranda Snow, Colleen Touie, Charlie Ruggles, Shannon Konendike, and Danica Favorite. Thank you all so much for your support. In me and in Wolfchild Magic, it means the world. And now here is my poem, The World, The World. I spin to a heathen dance until my feet chafe and bleed. Now they are ready to carry me up the mountains where the bearer reveals herself from the black belly of her sacred corner. The space has been untouched, allowing her small treasures to receive the gift of milk, until, like all of us, their appetites must be fed with something that was warmed by the sun. At some point, we must become our own mothers and fathers, needing to find our own small corners where we may be safe for the winter, or from the hunter. As I tread my hands along the curve of this blue, seeking the spot that will welcome me home, I look up to the stars, see the Ursa Major. She may be a few gems in the chandelier hung from the heavens, yet she nurses me with light. Even though we have both had to walk far to find our rivers trailing red behind us, I promise her that I will never stop dancing.
