This episode is a discussion on how to use the days of the week and their ruling planets as a way to deepen, align, and support your spell or ritual. We look at the themes that come with these celestial bodies, rooting them into helping us plan our spells and rituals with discipline and support. We also discuss how these, just like any other witchcraft tool, are a helper, not the end-all, be-all.

Main themes:

• Sunday: Sun energy for confidence, growth, manifestation, and career
• Monday: Moon energy for dreams, emotions, cleansing, and divination
• Tuesday: Mars energy for courage, protection, and sacred rage
• Wednesday: Mercury energy for writing, learning, business, and communication
• Thursday: Jupiter energy for prosperity, justice, wisdom, and offerings
• Friday: Venus energy for love, pleasure, beauty, self-love,
• Saturday: Saturn energy for boundaries, shadow work, discipline, and recalibration
• How to adapt when timing does not align, and why action matters beyond intention

Welcome And What We Are Covering

SPEAKER_00

Hello, and thank you for tuning in to the Wolfchild Magic Podcast. My name is Ashley, your tarot reader, Rocky Mountain Witch, and overall Wolfchild, and I thank you for being here with me today. In this shorter episode, I'm going to be discussing the meaning of the days in relation to aligning them to any sort of spell or ritual that you're doing. So we're going to be looking at the ruling planet for each day, and then how you can schedule your spell or your ritual to align to that specific day so you get that heightened symbolism. You're kind of anchoring yourself into those themes that you're seeking even more. Depending on the time of the episode, I will also bring in the phases of the moon and how we can bring that in as additional symbolism and another way to anchor and deepen into our spell or our ritual. I also want to discuss some ways that we can be gentle with ourselves if or when these alignments just may not happen. We're human, we have schedules, we have responsibilities, to-dos, families. So what are some things that we can do to help us when we are in that space, when we're trying to align and it's just not happening? If you like this episode or any episode, please consider rating, sharing, engaging with me in the algorithm ritual because that is the best way for this podcast to grow and it is so appreciated. Before we get into this episode, I do want to share two events that I have coming up that I'm very excited about. The first is that on the 31st, we have a blue moon, meaning that we have had two full moons in the month of May. The first one was on Beltane, and on that one, I did the more formal ritual that I do with the members at my alphas tier on Patreon. So because we have a blue moon at the end of this month, I wanted to open it up to everyone, including free members, free pledges, free patrons.

And so this is gonna be very casual. I invite you to bring some tea, some conversation, some questions. We're gonna just kind of have a little bit of a get to know you deepen into the Wolfpack Bond. And I'm gonna be pulling cards, pulling out the pendulum board, and it's just gonna be really fun. So if you have been ever looking to join with me in any sort of magical space, let it be this one. All you need to do is pledge for free, or if you want to pledge for any of the monetary tiers that I have, you can certainly do that too. But this is available for everyone. I'm very excited. Also a little nervous because I've never done a live before on Patreon. So I hope it goes well. I know it's gonna go well. The Wolf Pack is amazing, it supports me, it anchors me. And I'm only sharing this because I'm human. We all have things that bring us anxiety, fear, trepidation. And I think I've only ever done one other live before, and it was on Instagram, and that was years ago. So it's a growing pain, but I'm excited to step into it because this is something that I want to offer more on Patreon, because of course on Patreon you get some of those exclusive perks and more connection with me personally. So I'm very excited, and it will be linked in the show notes for you to join. The second event is on June 2nd, and this is my magical resistance class that I'm hosting at Rocky Mountain Punk from 5:30 to 7.30. In this event, we're gonna be talking about some of the ways that we can use our magic as resistance against the authoritarianism and the fascism that we are seeing playing out right now, and why the spells that we will be talking about shouldn't be feared. They are actively a way to protect ourselves, our loved ones, our communities, and our very future. I will be including all the tools, you don't need to bring anything, and you will be getting an additional page from Micromore so you can continue doing this work in your own place at your own altar and in your own time. Again, it will be listed in the show notes. So go and click to reserve your seed. Tickets are $60, and it's gonna be an amazing time. This is something I'm so passionate about, and again, I hope to see you there. Okay, so let's get into the days of the week and how we can, with this knowledge, align our spells and our rituals to specific days to help heighten the energy, tap in and anchor into the themes that we're trying to already do in the spell or in the ritual. And now we have the symbolism and the themes from the day of the week that is going to best align into that. We are gonna start off with Sunday, which is ruled by the sun. And I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but I will have this listed also on uh the blog posts, Patreon, Substack, all the places, so that you also have this in list form, and then you can print it out, take a screenshot, and then you have this going forward to help you and anchor

Why Plan Spells By Weekday

SPEAKER_00

you. A lot of spell books or witchcraft books, specifically ones for beginners, will also have this, so that is nice as well. But starting off with Sunday, this day is ruled by the sun. And if you think of the sun, what do you think of? You think of warmth, of life, of vitality, of invigoration. You think of things being very external. We want to go out and play when

Sunday Sun Magic For Growth

SPEAKER_00

it's sunny, you know, we want to be outside, we want to take advantage, and that is exactly what we are gonna be tapping into when we look at the symbolism with Sunday being ruled by the sun. The themes for this day being ruled by the sun are advancements, leaderships, growth in your life, especially in the form of career pursuits, creativity, building a sense of confidence, health, vitality, or your well-being. The spells are rituals that are gonna be greatly served by being done on a Sunday, are spells that where you need or are wanting to emphasize growth, strength, and manifestation. Everything is, of course, linked and connected between the internal and the external, and we hinge between the two. But the spells or the rituals that you might want to wait until you can do them on a Sunday are gonna be spells or rituals where the effect is gonna come back to you, or the success of the spell is gonna take root in the external of your life in some form of external nature. So if you're looking to do a spell to get a promotion at work, this is gonna be a great day to do that spell. And of course, there is going to be that internal success of I got the promotion, especially in times like what we're in. But Sunday is a day to think about spells where you're looking for success, growth, manifestation, or some type of advancements in your external life with that external symbolism from the sun. Monday is gonna be the exact opposite, and that's because Monday is ruled by the moon. So the themes with Monday being ruled by the moon are dreams, emotions, the female energy, fertility, inspiration, intuition, psychic work, secrets, andor divination spells. And I want to pull this up, this article. There's a few articles actually linked in the show notes, but this is from Llewellyn.com, the infamous publisher, and it says for Monday, this day of the week is dedicated to the moon and all of her magic and mystery. Mondays are for women's mysteries. I would argue it just means more feminine. You don't have to be a woman, obviously, to do a spell on a Monday, but also illusion, prophetic

Monday Moon Magic For Intuition

SPEAKER_00

dreaming, emotions, travel, and fertility. And then another website, which is of course linked, says healing, cleansing, fertility, dream work, divination, and psychic abilities. Monday is going to be a great day for really tapping into any sort of reflection work. So scrying mirrors are awesome because that's a form of divination, pulling tarot or oracle cards, doing any sort of work where we're kind of deepening in our intuitive processing and gaining a look at our deeper selves. And you can see where now there is this very big difference between Sunday and Monday, because whereas Sunday we would want to do spells that, like I said, influence something for the better in our external world, Monday's gonna be a day to do any sort of spells that create a better influence on us in our intuition, in our emotions, and just in our internal selves as a whole. On Tuesday, the ruling planet is Mars in connection to the Roman god of both war and agriculture. So, of course, the themes with this day are going to include aggression, anger, conflicts, construction, destruction, protection, hexing, male energy, and spells that deal with overcoming obstacles or hardships. The Llewellyn website says or article says Tuesday is a Mars day, and just like the God of War, this is a time to tap into magics to call for strength and courage. This is the day of the week for rebels and warriors. If you're facing a challenge of any kind, need a boost to your courage, or want to enhance your passions, Tuesday is the day of the week for you. And the other one that's linked says

Tuesday Mars Magic For Sacred Rage

SPEAKER_00

protection, motivation, competition, courage, conflict resolution, and a road opener. But one of the things I want to say is that when we hear the words God of war, we think of just straight violence. And Mars is not really like that. And even um here under Wikipedia, it says, unlike Ares, the Greek counterpart, who was viewed primarily as a destructive and destabilizing force, Mars represented military power as a way to secure peace and was a father of the Roman people. So Tuesday is kind of an interesting day, and I mention this kind of counterpart to Ares because while we just think of that aggression and that anger, one, our rage is sacred. We have a right to our rage. And one of the reasons why I am so vocal about this on the podcast on social media is because when we feel we don't have a right to our rage, what is actually happening is this gaslighting of I'm gonna do whatever I want, but don't you have a response to it? And while Mars is definitely there channeling that rage and that aggression, it's again there in the form of protection and it's in the form of sacred service. You know, again, if we lived in a perfect world, we would never need to hex anyone. Unfortunately, we don't live in that world. And even spells, you know, again, like cord cuttings or releasing things that don't serve you, are going to be greatly served on a Tuesday because to have the courage to face some of these hard truths and be willing to use your magic in order to address that in some form for yourself or for others is absolutely beautiful, and that's why I don't personally fall into the narrative of we shouldn't be doing some of these spells. In fact, I think we should be doing more of them. Now, if you don't feel comfortable doing this spell, I'm not saying and forcing you, go do this spell, but I think that I can only speak for myself, but doing some of these spells has just been so cathartic and empowering. I did a rage ritual with the wolf pack a while back, and it was just so cathartic and humbling to have other people witness my rage to witness their rage. It was just so empowering and wonderful. So if you are ever looking to tap into some of these spells, definitely consider doing them on a Tuesday. And just a quick side note, I do have a whole podcast episode, and it's just a few episodes back about hexing and why I personally think we should be doing more of them. And I'm not saying that anyone who truly feels that they just don't want to do these spells is wrong. Of course, I want everyone to listen to their own intuition, but sometimes, or at least I would invite a sense of discovery around are you doing it because you don't want to do it or because you were told, or there's just kind of this general narrative of we shouldn't do these spells. You know what I mean? Like, I'm just I'm putting that out there as a little bit of a fortune cookie for you to take and consider. There's never been any sort of controversy around a healing spell, a money spell, a love and light spell, and yet hexing is one that even today there are still people who are like we should never do that. And I'm like, why? Have you taken a look outside? Have you seen what ICE is doing to our communities? Have you seen what this administration is doing? Again, I think we should be hexing more, and Tuesday is a great day to do that. But if you want to listen to my episode on hexing again, I think it's like only three episodes back or four episodes back, it's kind of right up there, and that is there for you to take in as you feel you need. Moving on to Wednesday, the ruling planet is Mercury. So some of the themes are gonna be business, cleverness, communication, creativity again, intelligence, memory, and money or commerce spells. From the Llewellyn website, it says Wednesdays are wild and wacky days. They are for communication, change, cunning, and the arts. This is a Mercury day, and just as its patron god is full of contradictions, change, and excitement, so too are the themes around this day. And then the other one says learning, writing, communicating, travel, automatic writing. So this is kind of a weird one. If you are an entrepreneur or you're in any sort of work environment or creative environment, Wednesday is gonna be a day that can really

Wednesday Mercury Magic For Communication

SPEAKER_00

serve you. You could create a ritual around writing your blog on Wednesdays or doing some social media planning, getting creative. I also think it would be really um beneficial if you do any sort of journaling to do that on a Wednesday. Do some communication if you do any sort of work with communicating with your guides, your ancestors, any patron gods or goddesses, this is a great day for that. You could even do some rituals around just creating space for creative outlets, just letting some of these things outside of you. One of the other things that I think is gonna be beneficial on a Wednesday is to make time to increase your knowledge on something. So when we talk about doing spells or rituals, it doesn't have to always be actively in the act of doing. It could also be in the form of receiving information. So if you're looking to do a hex and you're like, all right, I've got six days I want to learn how to do a quick hex so that I can do it next Tuesday, let Wednesday be a day that you learn about it. But especially business and commerce. I mean, again, if you're doing anything with a business plan, if you have a ritual that you do at your business, or maybe you do a cleansing or you do um a meet and greet, things like that. You know, use Wednesday as a way to anchor into some of these things and also to step outside of your comfort zone. You know, sometimes that can be scary, like I mentioned at the beginning with my live, but it's a beautiful reminder of when we're pushed to be creative and to express our deepest desires, our communications, our wants, and our needs. That's a very powerful spell in and of itself. Thursday is ruled by Jupiter, so the themes around this day with Jupiter as the ruling planet are business again, legal matters, expansion, honor, justice, leadership, politics, power, success, prosperity, and spells for gaining insight, wisdom, or truth. The Llewellyn website says that here is a day of the week for prosperity, abundance, and good health. Thursday is Thor's Day. This Norse god gave the day his name and many of his attributes, including strength and abundance. The other website says uh spells for this day, wealth, success, abundance, luck, legal matters, and manifesting. And I also just want to quickly read from Cafe Astrology because this also kind of brings this in home a little more. Cafe astrology is the very well-known website where you

Thursday Jupiter Magic For Abundance

SPEAKER_00

can do birth chart readings, but it says Jupiter, the king of the gods, is a planet of plenty, it is tolerant and expansive. Some of the key words include morality, gratitude, hope, honor, and the law. Jupiter is a planet of broader reach, purpose, and possibility. Jupiter has been has generally been associated with good luck and bounty. Optimism and growth, including mental and spiritual growth, come under its rule. On the upside, Jupiter is associated with a sense of humor, goodwill, and mercy. The more negative manifestations of Jupiter include blind optimism, excess, and overindulgence. In the chart, the position of Jupiter reveals how we express our generosity and our tolerance. So some of the spells that we just talked about could be success spells, wealth spells, business spells again, spells that bring in success and prosperity. But I also think with Jupiter being the ruling planet, this would be a great day to also make it a ritual to give offerings. So if you have an altar, give an offering to any sort of deities or guides that you work with, give an offering to your ancestors, give an offering to a tree or to nature. Because when we look at that sense of generosity, I just I can only speak for me, but I am so grateful at how I am supported by so many things in my practice. And Thursday is a great day to give back to that or to create a deeper reciprocal connection in the way that you're doing that spell. So if you're doing any sort of spell that includes, you know, bringing in prosperity for you, consider where you can maybe put some prosperity back out into the world again by doing an offering, by donating, by sharing someone else's page. You know what I mean? Just kind of being in that give and receive a little bit more. We come to Friday, and the ruling planet of this day is Venus. So this is the day we get to do all the juicy, sexy spells, which is gorgeous. So the themes for this day are attraction, glamour, magic, beauty, friendships, harmony, love, lust, pleasure, sexuality, and just sex, the arts and spells that encourage harmony in all relationships, including the self. So here's the thing of all the spells that give me the ick, and I'm not trying to yuck on him on anyone's yum here, it's the love spells. And the only reason I'm not saying I don't see it, I do, because so many people in this world want amazing love, they want amazing sex. I mean, yes, please, yes

Friday Venus Magic With Consent

SPEAKER_00

to all. But here is where I start to kind of want people to be cautious because we can certainly do spells to have to open the way to the person who will love me the way I need to be loved. We can certainly do spells like that, but sometimes with love spells, we can put ourselves in a tricky situation because we want this so much and we're putting it out there so much that what we might call in is something that actually isn't going to serve us. And I'm just, I want you all to be safe. I want consent to be a thing around the world because consent is how we engage properly with people, and not even just in sexual relationships, but just in general. I would never want a spell done against me to manipulate my will or anything like that. You know what I mean? So I just want you all to just I give this as a little grain of salt for you to consider again. Trust your intuition, trust your own judgment. I am not you. The other thing I will say is that when we talk about love spells, the one type of love spell that gets left off the table so much is self-love spells. And self-love is so important. I mean, RuPaul said it, if you can't love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love someone else? So I give you the words from that queen for you to take and just, you know, just sit with. You may never need to do a love spell, that's awesome. If you are looking to do a love spell, maybe start with a love spell first for a while and do some self-love rituals on Friday to anchor into that unwavering love that you have for yourself of this is what I want to call in, but I will not call it in at the expense of X, Y, and Z. You know what I mean? Again, I just want you all to be careful. I love you all. Just take that with a grain of salt. The last day of the week is Saturday, and so with this day comes themes of being ruled by Saturn, has themes of binding, history, knowledge, learning, karmic lessons, limitations, obstacles, authority, stability, and spells that need long-term support, structure, or discipline. And then the mystical zodiac shop.com had this to say that Saturday works especially well for protection spells and warding, banishment and uncrossing work, binding spells, cutting cords and releasing attachments, boundary setting and self discipline, justice and accountability work, breaking unhealthy patterns, clearing energetic or practical blockages. To me, this is a day for shadow work. One, because we have this sense of

Saturday Saturn Magic For Recalibration

SPEAKER_00

needing to do the some of the learning, we need to look at our limitations, we need to look at the shadow, we need to look at Where it's been maybe not helping us. And we use all of that as a way to align into wholeness. We use that and do some of the work around that so that we have this sense of connecting all the different parts of ourself. Protection, obviously, to me, Saturday is a day of recalibration. I'm not saying I do this every Saturday, but when we look at like the list that the mystical Zodiac website mentioned: protection spells, banishment, binding, cutting cords, boundary setting, justice, breaking unhealthy unhealthy patterns, clearing energetic or physical blockages. To me, that all speaks to recalibrating, almost kind of like tightening the gears, putting the oil on the bike chain so that when we get on the bike, it runs a little bit more smoothly or rides a little bit more smoothly. To me, this is a day to align into what I want and need, take stock of what I've done, and then see do I need to do this again in a different way? You know, kind of maybe step into this with a little bit of accountability, create a little bit of honesty. It's gonna be a great day to just overall recalibrate back into what you want and need. And of course, we get out of alignment, we're humans, but Saturday is a good day to get back into alignment through those spells mentioned. With the time that we have left, I'm gonna leave the phases of the moon and do that in a part two. And I will also come back to what I'm about to open us into again in that episode as well. But I want to briefly have a conversation of what we can do to be gentle and also honest with ourselves when we're trying to make some of these things align and they're just not aligning. So let's just use a quick and easy example of you want to do a love spell, you want to do it on Friday because that's the day ruled by Venus, but you don't have a Friday to give. Maybe you work all day Friday, maybe Friday is your day to do all these things with your kids, and you just know that by the time you get home on Friday, you're gonna be so tired that you will not have the capacity to show up and do the spell the way that you would want to, in a way that you would be proud to do, right? So again, how do we align when these things aren't aligning? First, we're human. That's the way that we can first be

When Timing Does Not Work

SPEAKER_00

gentle, is just by recognizing that we live in a much more fast-paced world. We live in a much more expansive world, and we live in a world that asks so much more of our time and our attention because like the little shiny boxes on our in our pocket are never not talking to us. And it's harder to manage some of our energetic currency and our time and our schedules in the world that we're living in. That's the first way we can be gentle. The second way that we can be gentle and honest with ourselves is by recognizing that days of the week, moon phases, crystals, colors of candles, whatever resource or thing or tool or item that you are bringing in to help your spell is a helper. It's a guide, it's a connective thread, it is not the end all be all. If you work Fridays and Fridays, you just cannot come home and do more shit. It is so much better for you to do an amazing fucking love spell on Tuesday than to do a shitty half-assed love spell on Friday just because it's that day of the week. You know what I'm saying? Just like if you wanted to do a love spell, but instead of a red candle, you had a yellow candle. That doesn't mean that your spell is just automatically not going to be successful because you don't have a red candle or you can do it on a Tuesday really well, but it's not a Friday. Okay, so that's another way we can be gentle and honest with ourselves is by recognizing that the things, the days of the week, the moon phases, all of this stuff that we bring into our rituals, it's there as a helper, but we're the ones who are the channel. Now, that is not to say that intention is everything, that is gonna be a whole other episode because that is bullshit. I'm sorry it is. Someone can have all the intention in the world and still never bring action to the task at hand. And so the intention isn't automatically gonna make something manifest. We have to bring the action and we have to bring discipline. We have to bring a sense of being willing to learn, be willing to bring instability and support, and just put some of the hustle in, right? That is how we are gonna have better spells, not with intention, and also using our intuition to recognize I know that on Tuesday I am gonna just have all day to do this, and I can really step into it. And if your intuition is saying Tuesday or your schedule is saying Tuesday, then do your love spell on Tuesday. It doesn't automatically mean your spell is not going to be successful. Don't even do it. Why bother? Because it's not gonna be a Friday. But like I said, another way we can be gentle and honest is by checking in with our intuition and maybe saying, Can I wait until next Friday? Can I, you know, kind of start to maybe move some of my schedule around because this is really important to me, and I want to do this in this way because this is what I've been learning, and I want to be disciplined. We have to just make it work for us. It's gonna be different strokes for different folks. Some people may never be able to do a love spell on Friday because they have kids, they have jobs, they have too much fucking shit going on. That doesn't mean there's their love spell on Tuesday is not going to be successful. But we do want to bring discipline. We do want to bring what we've learned to the task where we can. So I bring that in to say if it's not aligning, can we wait? Maybe by waiting, we can bring in a little bit more knowledge. Maybe the moon phase will be in a better phase that also is a connective thread for us. We want to just check in and see where and how we feel. But if we just kind of know in our intuition, our schedule, our bodies, whatever, it's just not gonna be this day, it's not gonna be this day for a while. But I've been learning, I've been applying, and it's just gonna be a Tuesday, then just let it be a fucking Tuesday. You know what I mean? So yeah, we can be gentle just by anchoring into our intuition and recognizing we are the channel, these are the tools, these are the helpers that help us channel, but also bringing in some discipline and some structure to help us be as successful as possible. So again, I hope that this episode was helpful for taking and applying. I will have the links available for the blog. Um, and then I think I'm gonna try to put it on Substack and Patreon as well. We will see, but it will definitely be on the blog. And now I would like to thank my patrons Bobby McDermott, Lisa Zimmerman, Tracy Lanham, Kim Hardnett, Chris Ree, Miranda Snow, Colleen Tue, Charlie Ruggles, Shannon Konendike, Danica Favorite, and Jess. Thank you all so much for your support in me and in Wolf Child Magic. And to you, my dear listener, thank you so much, and until next time, take care. Bye.
