Hey, what's up everyone? Welcome back to the marketing Nomad channel. It's your favourite marketer and podcast host. My name is Prit. Welcome to episode number 81, where we're gonna be talking about three key growth mindset shifts. Now, before we get into this podcast episode, let me first talk about what exactly is a growth mindset. So a growth mindset is basically a belief system where you believe that you can grow, okay, grow through maybe strategy through hard work through external help, all of those things, basically, you feel that you can grow your skills, your talents and your abilities. Okay? If you have a fixed mindset, which is basically the opposite of a growth mindset, it means that you basically don't believe that you can grow your skills, your talents and your abilities. People with a fixed mindset usually perceive their lack of success as an endpoint. Whereas if you were to have a growth mindset, usually you would perceive your lack of success as a stepping stone towards your success. All right. So this is basically the difference between these two mindsets. And in this episode, I'm going to go over three of the key growth mindset shifts that I've personally made in the last one or two years of my journey. Okay, let's get started. Now, the first key growth mindset shift that I personally have had to make is one, understanding that each win, or each success of mine has some lessons to it. All right. Usually when we are successful, or when we have a win, or we have hit our goals, we don't usually take into account the things that did go wrong. And yes, even though you have achieved your success, even though you have achieved your wins, there will still be, there would still be things that you know, either you did not do that well, or you could have done better, or you actually did mess up and then had to go back in and redo it again, so that you would achieve your success. So for every win for every success, everybody usually looks at what you did right to get there. However, I personally like to see what went wrong, what I could have done better, or some of the things that I could have changed, or maybe tried another route. So my first key growth mindset shift is for every win for every success, for every goal achieved, always take a look at the lessons, okay, there might have been something that you know, you could have improved, you could have done better, or maybe tried a different route. All of those things are important to note as well. Okay, now, let's get on to the second key growth mindset shift that I do have for you. And that is, knowing that your best is good enough. This was such a huge mindset shift for me. Because, honestly, I think that we are always so critical about ourselves, we feel that, you know, our best is not good enough. And for me to acknowledge for me to come to a point where I can say that, yes, today I did my best. And that is good enough, was a huge process for me, I for one was never happy with my best, I always would either compare myself to someone else, or I will feel that I was not good enough, or I wasn't doing enough, even though I was you know, completely exhausted. And I was doing my absolute best in whatever it was. So for me to personally come to a point where I could tell myself that, you know, today I did my best. And that is good enough. Was was kind of like climbing a mountain for me. But here's what happened after I started acknowledging that my best was good enough, I started becoming more secure in myself, I started understanding that my best is going to look different every day. But as long as I was doing my best, that was good enough for me. All right. And when I say my best is going to look different every day, it means that some days, you know my best is just taking a break and watching Netflix all day. Another day. My best is probably recording a few podcasts episodes another day, my best is probably you know, figuring out the best way to write my book and moving forward with that there's so many different versions of how my best could look and each one of them is good enough for me. All right. So that was the second key growth my Insert shift that I personally had to make. Now the third one that I had to make was learning how to celebrate the process. Now for me personally, I'm always looking at the next goal. Once I hit this goal, like, for example, 100 sales on Etsy, I'm always looking at how to hit 200. The minute I hit 200, I hit three, I mean, I want it to, like, hit 300. And now that I have hit 300, I'm like, Okay, I got to get to 500 as soon as possible. So for me, it's really hard for me to understand that the joy comes in the process, and not only about hitting the goal for a very long time, especially during the first year and a half of this entrepreneurial journey of mine, I would feel really dejected, I would keep feeling like I hadn't achieved anything, even though I was achieving. The reason why I was feeling that way was because even though I was achieving things, I always kept looking at the next goal, right? So the minute I hit 100, I was like, okay, 200. And I was never satisfied, I never took the time to enjoy the process of getting 200 sales. And during the process of getting to 200. I was always wondering, I didn't even take the time, to be honest, I didn't even take the time to enjoy each of those goals that I hit because I was like, immediately I have to get on to the next goal. So for a very long time, I think for one and a half years of this journey, the first one and a half years, I did not really find much happiness, like yes, I was hitting my goals. Yes, I was moving forward. But at the same time, I think that I put unnecessary pressure on myself to just keep hitting the next goal. And I never took the time to enjoy each of those goals. So yeah, that was that was pretty, pretty messed up. And it took me like a massive burnout to realise that the reason why I was so unhappy, and the reason why I did not think that I was successful was because I didn't take the time to celebrate the process, I didn't take the time to enjoy the process. So that for me personally was a little bit of a mindset shift that I had to make. So now, it's a little bit different, you know, I enjoy the process, I take my time, even though sometimes yes, it does get a little bit frustrating, because it takes time to hit your goals, right? It does. And it is a little bit frustrating, you know that you have to wait that long, or you have to put in so much of effort for you to get to the endpoint that you're looking for. But I have realised that when I enjoy the little bits, you know, like posting content on Instagram or, or shooting YouTube videos, when I enjoy each of those process, okay, even though yes, I have not hit the goals that I want to, I am enjoying the process. And for me, the process itself is success. In a way, I get to do these things, I get to live a life that I want, I get to be this person, this entrepreneur, and I get to follow my passion. And for me, that is a huge success by itself. And for me, I think I owe it to myself to celebrate how I am getting to where I want to be. So that can only happen when you celebrate the process, not just that, when you actually take the time to enjoy and celebrate the process. It's that much more faster. I mean time is relative, right. So when you are enjoying the process, it actually feels that you are getting to your goals a lot faster. And that's what I've come to realise before in the one and a half years, even though I was hitting my goals, I did feel that I was taking too long to hit them. And now I actually don't feel that way. And it's probably really relative. Because even though if I were to count the number of months that it's taking me to hit a certain goal, it's the same but at the same time it's it feels like it's going a lot faster and we have to thank Albert Einstein for that theory. But yeah, it actually makes sense right? Because when you are enjoying the process when you are celebrating how you are doing what it is that you are doing to get to where you want to be, it becomes that much more easier for you to flow through the process and for you to get to where you want to be so yeah, that is number three. So let me be I'd read the first one. The first one was that each winner will definitely have some lessons and some takeaways. Don't forget to count those okay. There is always room for improvement. And regardless of the success, or regardless of the win, or regardless of you achieving the goal number two was that knowing your best is good enough. And also knowing that your best is going to look different every single day. And number three is learn how to celebrate the process by celebrating the process by enjoying the process. I think that that itself is a huge success for you. And that actually motivates you to have you know, to believe that yes, you know, you are growing you are going to get to where you want to be. And yes, that brings me to the end of this podcast episode. I know that it's a pretty short one, but I didn't really want to go too long. Honestly, just that this is my first podcast episode in quite some time. I do understand that. I've been working a back end on Project potato. And if you guys want to know more about Project potato, definitely do check out my Instagram page because I have given all my updates about what project potato is and all the other big news that's coming up for me and for the marketing nomad. Okay, so yes, this was my first episode in a very long time. And I didn't want to, you know, immediately jump into a 30 minute one as I usually do, so I wanted to keep this short and sweet. So I hope you guys enjoyed this episode if you are listening all the way up until here. Thank you so much for tuning in. I will catch you in my next episode.
