STEM EDUCATION LIFELINE (SEL)

Lou Lifson: Bridging The Gap Between STEM And The Humanities

Dr. Ralph Minaya and Manuel Guerrero Season 1 Episode 11

In this episode we will explore the relevance of Humanities, and the impact of liberal arts for a well rounded education. Moreover, we will discuss the enhancement of critical thinking and cognitive development that can be achieved by implementing a solid interdisciplinary curriculum.

Mr. Lou Lifson, an accomplished English professor, presents a strong case that suggests that STEM must be complemented with the studies of arts, history and literature amongst other disciplines.

In addition to this, our guest argues that the sole focus on scientific concepts is not enough, and does not contribute to an inclusive learning environment. This is no knock on STEM but rather an advocacy for STEAM, while we pursue what we can describe as a “more perfect” Education.
