Carol:

All right, recording recording.

Unknown:

Hello. Hello.

Gracie:

I'm up close now

Unknown:

ever reaching the bar

Carol:

thing that's gonna sound better?

Unknown:

I think it is. Well welcome back.

Carol Marks:

Yes. Welcome, by the way,

Unknown:

I'm Carol and I'm Gracie

Carol Marks:

Gracie has joined in again, I think we're I don't know if she's gonna do it on a regular basis or not. But we're gonna try. I'll do part time. Yeah, I have been struggling on my own to figure out what I'm going to talk about trying to find my own voice trying to figure out a topic, what this podcast is going to be about without you. It's been a struggle. Yeah. So I'm glad you're back at least part time. That will be helpful. And I've tried start, you know, I thought about starting other podcasts, new podcasts. And I just I just liked the name of this one, too. Do you?

Gracie:

What are you listening to now with other podcasts?

Carol Marks:

Oh, you already were listened to? I found a new one that is just cracking me up. And I'm listening to it. It works. I had to be real careful not to laugh out loud. It's called the real queens of Queens. Oh my gosh, these two ladies in Queens. They got the accent and everything. Apparently they've been best friends since they were kids. And now they're in their 50s. They are hilarious. very explicit. Yeah. very explicit. They use the F word a lot. Yeah. And

Unknown:

are they just regular? Right? Yeah.

Carol Marks:

What's up? No, not famous ones, a bus driver. And one owns her own business and is I think she runs it with her husband. But now keep in mind I started from the beginning of the podcast before Coronavirus came about. So this is like back in the summer of 2009. Teen

Unknown:

it was two years ago.

Carol Marks:

I think so. And so I haven't caught up to where they are now. And then on Instagram, they posted something that says Be calm. We'll be back in a little while. So apparently they've taken a little break. Okay. But they they don't care about what they talk about. They will talk they will talk about it. I mean, oh my

Unknown:

goodness. They are so fun. I don't know their names. Do you?

Carol Marks:

Kathy and Fran? Okay. That's all I know. And I think a third one has joined them. Yeah. Because I from like the look at the description of the most recent versions. I think there's a third one that joins them. I'm not sure. I think I'm only on episode five right now. Oh, wow. Yeah. Okay.

Unknown:

How long are their episodes?

Carol Marks:

About 4040 minutes? I think one when they had their son and his fiance on it. That was right over like a little over an hour. Okay, okay. Well, I'm

Unknown:

listening to this podcast called two bears. One cave, two bears one cake. And it's two comedians, Tom Segura and Bert kreischer. Are they famous? Yeah, they are but I didn't really know about them until I started listening to their podcast because I'd seen clips and means from YouTube and Instagram on there. So I was like, I might as well just go see what this is about. They are explicit. They talk about many things. Oh, which I some it's some some men things. You know, I

Carol Marks:

think it'd be interesting for a woman to listen to many things just to get a purse. Yeah, perspective,

Unknown:

I guess. But they are so hilarious when they get to cracking up. Thank goodness. We have to wear masks at work. Because I'm grinning ear to ear laughing just going giggling good silence but two bears one Kade Yeah, I like it. Yeah, I like it. So what are they been on that? I would know? They have a bunch of like Netflix specials comedy specials their stand up comedy, okay. Yeah, but they're friends with Jerry signs. Oh, like big comics. Okay, I did. Like I said, I didn't know who they were. Yeah. Until I just seen stuff on YouTube from them. But they're very funny.

Carol Marks:

I noticed the older I get, the less I know celebrities who they are. They had I think it was a New Year's Eve. They had some girls singing on one and I had no idea who she was younger. Yeah. And I felt really interesting. Apparently, she writes a lot of songs for other people though. Okay, so like a ghost, right? I can't remember her name. But she was on there singing like Who is that? They you know, didn't recognize her at all?

Unknown:

Well, a lot has changed since I was last on the podcast catches up on your what's been happening in your world. So I got a new job. Yay. She works with the mom had the same job. We're on different shifts. But for now for now. I love it. I love it to pieces. Good luck. We can't go too into depth about No, but

Carol Marks:

it's a lot different than what you were doing. Oh, yeah, very much. Because what you were doing you had a lot of interaction with people. Oh, yeah. And now you don't know like none

Unknown:

like zero, maybe a month into working where we work now. I was in the car driving singing along and like my voice wasn't cracking. I could actually sing and hit the notes and it's because I talked so much. doctor's office, on the phones to people in the office to go in not to talk to anybody. And just a lot of stress lifted from me. Yes.

Carol Marks:

I figured as much because you had a lot of interaction with the public, even if it was just on the phone there for a while that you did have interaction with the public. I did.

Unknown:

Yeah. I did work checkout for a

Carol Marks:

while. Church in the meta animal in the medical field. Yeah.

Unknown:

So then I went back to the phones. Yeah, at that doctor's office still. That's stressful. Yeah, it was

Carol Marks:

you still dealing with people, even if it's on the phone? Yeah. It was. And now she deals with Nobody. Nobody know what so nice. Yes, I love my job. So and we get to wear earphones and listen to podcasts.

Unknown:

So when we mom, we're wanting to get back together. I was looking on our old podcast is from a year ago, December 29 2019. We, but we had made a podcast about predictions for the year of 2020. And I'm just going to go through what mom had said, okay, cuz mine were so left field mine. None of mine came true. Well, I still want to hear what yours are. So you don't have to tell all of them. Like I wrote down. But yours. You started off saying Pete buttigieg Buddha judge, judge would become the Democratic nominee, but he didn't. But he did. He even said his husband would become the running mate. I don't do that. Yeah. Oh, okay. So that didn't happen. No. You said Facebook will start their own TV network. Not yet. No, I don't doubt it. But I see it coming. Facebook has had a lot of updates. Yeah. I see them getting into the podcast world too. Yeah. Because they want to they want to hand in everything. Then you also said,

Carol Marks:

But speaking of Facebook, I've noticed I'm spending less and less time on Facebook. And more and more on the new social media platform called me up or my way. It's me, w e. Meili.

Unknown:

I saw you posted that Oh, well. I love it over there. Anyway, go ahead. I deleted my Facebook again. I deleted it. Like a week ago. Okay. All right. But anyway, then you also said Miley would put out a gospel out Miley Cyrus. She didn't she didn't. But she put out a rock album. Oh, and it's decent. Okay.

Carol Marks:

There's not a gospel. I still see. I still think she'll do it. Yeah, I still think she Ellis did it.

Unknown:

I think when she gets more into the rock scene, because I think she's finally found her voice. I think she's finally found his genre and it's rock and roll music. She's covered a bunch of 80 songs and they sound amazing.

Carol Marks:

I know. She's very controversial, but the girl can sing. I like the way she sings. I like her voice. I just hope that she gets her act together and straightens up and it seems like should she goes through phases. Yeah, it seems like she strains up and does good and then she goes off the rails and right now she's sober. She's

Unknown:

completely sober. Okay, doesn't do booze doesn't do drug

Carol Marks:

because I like her when she's sober. And she's acting normal and decent. She's. The voice is fantastic. She

Unknown:

did a podcast with Joe Rogan really months ago. She was basically saying about how she's had this rebirth. She's sober. She's cleaning up her eating better, because she's gone to therapy. And they say, you know, good through this diet. You feel this way. Good, good. Anyway, you also said the Kardashians would go bankrupt, which they did not go bankrupt. However, they quit filming their show this day. Yeah. So that was

Carol Marks:

one of them went bankrupt. Oh, maybe it was she wasn't making enough money as she said she was on Instagram. Maybe. Maybe anyway.

Unknown:

Yeah, I believe that I think she was somebody fully manifested and she didn't confirm or deny. Kim and Kanye are getting divorced. I heard that. No, let's go by Why are they not filming their show anymore? Just because they're tired of it? Probably maybe COVID reasons maybe because their lives have just gone out of control. I think they I think Kim and Connie's divorce had been coming for a long time. I think Kim was like, I don't want to do the show. We're gonna get divorced. Right? And I guess, but she did the show before she got married. So she's gotten divorced on the show before she married twice.

Carol Marks:

I'm not wanting to talk.

Unknown:

Then you also predicted that Prince Harry and Megan will move to America and they start a podcast and she will read children's books. Yes. Which they write or read. Read. Oh, I meant right. Well, they did move to America. They live in California. Yes. They have they denounced their royal titles. I don't know. I think so. I've read somewhere that Harry is kind of regretting. Really the whole they call it makes it thing makes it that's a great outlet. It's a great title for it. My predictions I can't I didn't write them down because they were so dumb. I said dumb. I think I said, Vladimir Putin would become czar of Russia, because he's president. Right, right. They've done away with czars and that of leadership, right? Well, publicly they say they True. True. And I just I don't remember what else I don't remember. I don't remember anything. We said. Well, obviously, I do remember me saying Corona was a conspiracy. Did you? I did. No, you didn't. Did you ever you? Yeah. I'm surprised. I said, Corona is a conspiracy to try to derail the elections.

Carol Marks:

Really? I've had so many different thoughts about COVID. Yeah. You know, I think at the beginning, I thought, you know, well, let's be honest. In the beginning, I thought we were all gonna die. I didn't think our immune systems could fight it off. That's the way they were by putting it on TV. They said, Your immune systems are not going to work. And if you get it, you're gonna die. And they were showing that on TV. And I was glued to it 24 hours a day before I you know, got my job. And I thought it was you know, everybody was dying. I thought I was gonna die. Now, of course, I've changed my mind since then. Yeah. Then I think at one time, I thought it was a conspiracy theory. But then I thought, well, that can't be right. Because everybody is getting it. And some people are dying. Yeah. Yeah. And then you come to find out well, they're dying because they had other things. And Corona just had it kind of helped speed that along. Yeah. And now I've known a lot of people who've gotten it and they've gotten over it and some people just had their Sims was just like

Unknown:

a head cold. Yeah, example a right here. I had it. I didn't want to say anything I wanted you to I had COVID. I had it during the holidays. triggered right at December 7 is when I had it. Yep. And I thought it was a head cold. I woke up. I was like, I don't feel good. I had a cough. I was like, maybe I'm just congested. I had been sick, like with a cold in a long time. So I forgot what it was like, right. Then you convinced me I already had a test schedule. And I wasn't going to go because I thought it was just right. You convinced me You're like, just go ahead and go to it. Yes. You know, and sure enough, I had Corona. Yeah. Now, I was upset not because I was fearful of the sickness, but I was like, I'm gonna be out of work. Yeah, that was the upsetting thing about it. But we made it through. Yeah. We're all good. Both of us are healthy. Was Dylan had it too. He actually, he had an after I did. But his seemed to be a lot shorter than mine. Yeah, I think he wasn't down for I think, actually, we were both down about three days.

Carol Marks:

So he said it felt like it just a head cold. You could just say but did you have body aches and chills and stuff? Or I had chills first. We mean at first then what happened? What you said at first, it was just congestion.

Unknown:

Oh, yeah. So like when I woke up the first day, it felt like congestion, like because we had gone over to my sister in law's and lo and behold, somebody else was there even before you had Yeah, before I had it. So before I tested, did you think Thursday and Friday I tested negative? I had a PCR done and a rapid and I both tested negative on Thursday and Friday. That's right. Yeah. So then we went over to sister in law's on Saturday night. There was another friend that was there. So the next day I woke up not feeling good. Then Monday, I got tested. Now the other friend that was there. She also had the same symptoms about two or three days after I did. So who knows where it came from. It could have come from the grocery store, it could have come anywhere anywhere. So anyway, but so after the congestion what what else did you have? So when I had the congestion and the cough I got tested was positive went home. I felt fine. I felt fine. I just had like a little bit of a headache. My head hurt. Yeah. Then I woke up the next day and then I was coughing. I think Tuesday was the day I coughed the most so when you say coughing Did you cough up anything? Yeah, it was both cough so I was coughing stuff up. It was more so Fleming. Was it like a regular cough like a regular cold congestion call? No. It felt like it came from deep within my lungs. Like I would sit there and I would just cough and cough and it'd be okay. And I wouldn't call for like hours and then I cough again really good really hard. And then I wouldn't cough again for a couple hours. Did you feel you couldn't breathe? When you were complimented? freaky Oh no. I could refund the whole entire time okay, but you were texting me and you're like he freaked Okay. Can you Breathe. Okay, fine if I think about it anymore I'm going to switch to manual breathing and then just switch to manual breathing. What is that if I really think I gotcha so yeah, so then Tuesday it was just the cough you guys brought me medicine you did the whole safe yes

Carol Marks:

six drop it off at a doorstep didn't leave and texture that it's okay it's out there you can go get it.

Unknown:

But yeah, and then I took medicine which crazy enough Alka Seltzer is really what made me feel good. I swear by Alka Seltzer. I've always swarmed by Alka Seltzer it I don't know what it was but it knocked it out because knocked it out or, or subdued the symptoms both. Both. They went away so Tuesday y'all brought over the groceries. I can't remember if I think I might have taken Alka Seltzer that night. But I wasn't feeling good. Then Wednesday is my worst day when I felt really, really bad. I took Alka Seltzer I woke up. I could sleep just fine. I could sleep great. I woke up Wednesday, not feeling my head felt so heavy. It felt I felt wobbly. Yeah. So I got up. Took some Alka Seltzer that Wednesday morning, went back on the couch to watch some TV. And I just couldn't stay awake. thinking maybe the Alka Seltzer made me sleepy, but maybe not. I just it was so hard to stay awake. That's another thing I heard people is very fatigued. Yes. So I woke up for maybe it's not like me to wake up and go back to sleep. It's very hard for me to go back to sleep after I've woken up. So I was laying on the couch fell asleep for about three hours and woke up disoriented. And I was like, What time is it? And as I sat up and kept going on throughout the day, I really wasn't hungry. people complained about losing their appetite when they had it. I think I might have I just ignored it. And I still ate because I'm a big girl. But I ate chicken noodle soup. It was really good. Gave you tasted then I could taste it that I could taste it then Thursday, I felt a little bit better. I did the same thing where I got up took Alka Seltzer went back to bed for like four hours. After like one o'clock, two o'clock in the afternoon went on about my day. I felt a little bit better, but I never had any aches never. body aches, my my skin on my back

Carol Marks:

just really, really hurt. And it's because I just been laying down so much that or maybe that would have been my body ache and I just didn't know so. So Tyler, my son, your brother has it now and he says he's he is experiencing the aches. The eight oh, my body is okay. But other than that, he feels fine. I feel it

Unknown:

because he has an actual labor job. He smokes anyway. So glad you're better. I'm better Fridays when I was taking Alka Seltzer every single day. Yes. Friday. You said? So you think that Alex or made you feel better? I think so. I definitely think so. It makes you sleep. Sleep. Sleeping is really what helped to Yes. So then that Friday, I felt really good. Good. I felt like I just was kind of ignored. I know everyone I get it. God. If genetics is okay, then yeah. But if it hit you that bad and you're young, imagine what was just like one day and it was just my head. My head pressure hurts so bad.

Carol Marks:

That was the worst part of it. Well, that's why I got on this keto diet because I've been reading and watching videos about your health. And if you like diabetics, if they get it there, it's not good, but you're not dying. I'm not yet but I was pre diabetic. insulin resistant. That's not good either. But I went to my doctor and got my bloodwork all done again and it came back good. They said you're not even pre diabetic anymore. Okay, but it was borderline. But I know that I can go there. So I decided to get back on my keto diet. And no sugar, no sugar, no sugar at all. That's the main thing. Right now I'm meeting on a meat and vegetables, protein, that kind of thing. It was skinny. Well, thank you. I just want to be able to prepare my body in case I do get it. Because apparently if you're like your inflammation, that is what that is what makes it worse when you get COVID Yeah, that's what I've read. I'm not a doctor.

Unknown:

I'll also say everybody's gonna get it eventually.

Carol Marks:

That's what I think to everybody's walking. I don't I don't want to get it though. Are you going to get it? Oh, you will need the vaccine.

Unknown:

I don't think I'll need it. You you've already had COVID so no You don't need the vaccine. Mm hmm. I actually did meet this lady. I Gibson's. She told me she got the first dose of the vaccine Really? Suddenly she was an older lady. She was like, you won't need it, honey. folks need it. Okay. Yes, ma'am. We'll get you taken care of. But she said that she she's so scared of it. She's so scared of it. She's like, we got the first dose of the vaccine. Don't be afraid of the vaccine to Me, too. But

Carol Marks:

did you hear about the the case in Norway? like 3020 or 30 people died from the vaccine. They were all over 80 years old in a nursing home.

Unknown:

Well, hopefully they stored it correctly, because you had

Carol Marks:

another thing. Some of you do. Some of you don't. It depends which company made it. That's what I've heard. That's another thing I don't trust because I don't trust people to do their jobs right

Unknown:

and stored the way they're supposed to Big Pharma is definitely scary. I feel like if you take certain medicines, just obviously if they hope they hope. It's just scary to put things in your body like that.

Carol Marks:

Yes. Anyway, we kind of went off the rails here on COVID. But that's not really want to what I wanted to talk about. We were catching up with you. And that's what happened to you.

Unknown:

I also bought a car. Oh, yes. car. It's a Jeep, Jeep Cherokee 2016. I love it. It's my baby. we're hopefully going to this is this was part of my new year's resolutions to in 2020 was to buy house. You were not able to buy a house. But now that circumstances are different. And we have a goal. We have a game plan now of you know, saving money. Hopefully I think it's going to be in the future this year. Yeah. Really. Okay. So well, maybe with your new job and I think that, um, I dyed my hair,

Carol Marks:

oh my god and cut it off and cut it off. She is completely blonde. Now.

Unknown:

It started off with the front pieces. Right?

Carol Marks:

And it looks good. That's when your hair was long. Yeah, it looks good. Looks so good. I love it.

Unknown:

The underneath was even blonde too. Yeah. And then I just had a really bad day one day, and I went to the bathroom and I just chopped it all off. It was a bit longer than I thought. But now. It was a lot longer. Yeah, it was at least down here. I chopped it out the first time. Yeah, still read still medium length. Then I said why don't we just go ahead and just bleach the whole thing. And you did it yourself. I did it myself the first time and I kind of messed it. Oh, but it was only because the pieces the front and the underneath have already been right. bleached before the top. Hadn't it only been bleached one time? Uh huh. So it was a little bit discolored. Uh huh. So I texted Jess, cousin. Right. And she told me to come to her salon. Oh, she. She fixed it. This is what she gave. Okay. And I am in love with it. So much. All right, good. Yeah.

Carol Marks:

Yeah. When you pull up this morning and get out of your car, first of all, I didn't recognize the car because it was new. Even though I knew you bought a car. And then you got out of the car. Like who is that now? Oh, it's crazy. To me. completely different.

Unknown:

It's like my hair is like, blonde. It's almost that's what I'm going to guess Platinum looks good. Have you gotten compliments on it? Oh, yeah. Well, it's me. Okay. Where are we at? Right now? We are at 24 minutes. Okay. What else? What has anything gone on with you? You did your rowing stuff?

Carol Marks:

Oh, yes, I did a rowing challenge for the holidays, where I had to row 200,000 meters from Thanksgiving day until Christmas Eve. And at first I didn't think I was going to do it was That's a lot. That's a lot of rowing. And before I never really did long distance rowing, you know, per session, I would do like 500 meters or, or if it was within a workout or something like that. So I was a little afraid. But I did it because of the charity that I chose to do it. Called a most beautiful thing. Go watch the documentary, your jaw will drop. Yeah. It is so awesome and inspiring and feel good story. It's about the first black High School rowing team from the west side of Chicago, I think the west side where they have all the gangs. Yeah. But you know, you hear about gangs in Chicago and you hear about

Unknown:

that stuff. You hear

Carol Marks:

better on the news, or you're or, or in a movie, right? When you hear stuff from the news from the talking heads from the anchors, or when you see it in a movie. It's like it doesn't register that it's real. Right? But when you watch this documentary and you hear it from the real people that were there and went through it, that makes it a little bit more hard to

Unknown:

digest.

Carol Marks:

Yeah, more real point. I don't know what the word I'm looking for. It's like shocking. Yeah. Shocking. They, the first one, they started interviewing, they talked about, you know, they were interviewing this guy, one of the team mates and he said, yeah, this isn't it wasn't anything big deal to see kids get shot and killed all the time. You know, there was there was a kid shot and killed on the sidewalk of our high school. And the interviewer said, Wow, how did that make you feel? He said, honestly, I didn't feel anything. Because that's what we see all the time. That I my jaw just dropped. That's what oh, my gosh, it's a great documentary. Like I said, it is a feel good story. It gets better. Yeah. But I think the thing that really inspired me to do that was the quote from RJ Cooper, who's one of the one of the rowers, they're all grown now. And he said, we thought we were going to be like the Jackie Robinson's of baseball, we were gonna go change the sport. But what really happened was it changed them. Yeah, that was like, oh, it just tugged at my heart. And the documentary is really, they actually in the, towards the end, they actually teamed up with police officers, white police officers. And it's like, it's just really good. Yeah, you gotta watch it. It's so good. A most beautiful thing. Who is common? Who is common? Yeah.

Unknown:

I want to say he's a rapper, music producer, cuz he's part of it, too. I don't know if he produced it. Or if he narrated it or something. He's I think he's an actor, singer, rapper, producer. I think he does it. All right.

Carol Marks:

So he was he like, helped make it. And there is an interface from Chicago. Is there a basketball player named grant something or something? grant or Anyway, there's things basketball players that helped to make it. I can't know Robert Murphy.

Unknown:

That's okay. Just go watch it.

Carol Marks:

Yes. Go watch it. So now I'm on a new January challenge. It's called the January revolution challenge from concept to the website, go look at it concept to concept and the number two. And there they have a challenge every month that I decided I'm going to do. January's is too. And they have different ones for January, but I decided to pick the hardest one of course, road 20,000 calories. And narrow in calories is a lot different than running meters. But we won't get into that. It's harder than the holiday one. Yeah, I don't know if I'm gonna make it but we'll see. With this what I'm doing rolling a lot. Back on my keto diet. still loving my job. We've gone to Tunica a couple of times.

Unknown:

How is it? Do you have to wear masks? Yeah, yeah.

Carol Marks:

Yeah. You know, they have hand sanitizers and we stay in a room that has special air. No. Air filtering. Yeah. And then, yeah, we just, we sanitize our hands all the time and wear a mask and we're fine. You I want to go to there's really nothing to do there. But gamble. There's like two casinos there. Well, there's more than that, where we say there's only two casinos. And they're kind of spread out. And you have to get your car to drive to a depot. Yeah. It's like the wide open spaces. I think they were going to make Tunica like the big camp gambling thing and then something fell through. But a lot of the A lot of them that started are now closed and like ghost towns. Oh

Unknown:

no.

Carol Marks:

Yeah. So the one we stay at are there together. It's the in the goldstrike Yeah. And the horseshoe. Okay, so we stay at the go strike, but they're connected. You can go you know, we walked to either one. That's all there is. There's nothing else

Unknown:

Hmm. Like nothing around? Nothing.

Carol Marks:

They have gift shops. Nothing around. No, you have to get in your car and go somewhere. It's not like the strip. No, not even close. what's the what's happening in the future? Anything

Unknown:

happened to the Cheesecake Factory is coming. What? Yeah. Huntsville. We're in bridge Street. Bridge Street. I said one end of it. I don't know. Probably down by the movie theater. Probably. Yeah, we're getting a cheesecakes. Oh my gosh, that will go overwhelmed. Yeah. They're building you know, mid city. Yeah. They have the wahlburgers restaurant for is it there? Yeah, it's open. Yeah, get out. Yeah. Oh, wow. If Marky Mark could come visit Huntsville, Alabama,

Carol Marks:

because you know, they visit the restaurant. Oh, no, I didn't know that. Oh, my God. I love them. So we went to wahlburger when we went to Vegas. Yeah, it was good. I yeah. I didn't know they were open. Yeah.

Unknown:

I had a friend there the other name? Wow. So what else is going on there? Um, they still have that movie theaters still up? I think I do think with it. Is that in mid city? It's in my city. Yes. still operate? Well, I say still operating COVID Well, yeah, you know, I haven't been to a movie theater and so long it's been like two years. Yeah. I mean, you don't need to know you got all demand. Oh, yeah. Which is streaming Very nice. Very, I

Carol Marks:

noticed one thing I've been doing a lot to I've been watching a ton of movies. And for everyone watching older movies, because I think the movies they make now are crap. Yeah, but I've been watching older movies like, like When Harry Met Sally. You know, a lot of the older airfrance movies a lot of Nancy Meyer movies. What's his name? meet his movies. Oh, Rob Reiner, I think is his name. I think that's his name.

Unknown:

I've been watching just a lot of TV shows. Yeah, I've rewatched Vampire Diaries. I've rewatched Sons of Anarchy. Right now I'm watching the Mandalorian which is great. Great, great TV. Yeah. Watch Jon Favreau, he produces a loser. You don't know who Jon Favreau now? He's in a lot of his movies that he's almost like the Adam Sandler like he produces and stars in a lot of his movies. What is he been in that? I would know? Well, he produced elf. Oh, he produced. He came up with Marvel Universe. Really? He's the one that put that in motion. And he's in a lot of Marvel movies. Really? Just like little character like little small character. And you'll be like, Oh, that's him. Because you You must know this man. I think I know you're talking about Oh, but we'll see. Nope. Oh, that's Jon Favreau. Oh my gosh. That's him. Yes. Oh, I do know. Oh, wow. Yeah, the TV.

Carol Marks:

sidekick in Iron Man. He

Unknown:

is an Iron Man. Oh, wow. Wow. Okay. Yeah. So he's, he's an American actor. and screenwriter.

Carol Marks:

Really? Yeah. See, I thought he was just a big dumb actor. He

Unknown:

has produced many things. Wow. Okay.

Carol Marks:

So I don't I can't get mad at Warren because we don't have that. I guess. Yeah, I started watching shits Creek. Oh, I've only started I've only watched like the first episode. Do you like

Unknown:

it gets better? It gets better.

Carol Marks:

Well, I've heard everybody likes it. Kirstie Alley. I follow her on Twitter. Oh my gosh, if you don't follow her go follow her now. She is hilarious. She's super smart. I said she was another dumb actress. She is brilliant. She is smart, witty. She has her own podcast. You should listen to it. It's great. It's called The Verge. I think. Fantastic. She is hilarious. But anyway, I follow her on Twitter was like going with this. She had recommended something. I think it's great. Yes. She said she had started watching shits Creek and she said she had to binge watch it said it was so good. Yeah. So then I started watching it because I heard so I'll catch up on Yeah, it gets really good. You know, there's

Unknown:

just little 2030 minute episode. Yeah. I like the actors who are on it though. That guy is really his son. Yeah. In real life. Oh, yeah. Okay, Dan levy. And

Carol Marks:

Is he gay on the show? Is he gay in real life? Yes. It is gamer like, okay, yeah, he is so funny. My favorite.

Unknown:

My favorite so fun. David and Alexis. Is that the kids names? Yes. Okay. Yeah. And then you have Moira which is played by Catherine O'Hara?

Carol Marks:

Yes.

Unknown:

I love Catherine O'Hara. She's great. She is and what's DailyVee what's an Danica? No, Eugene is the Father. Dan is the son. Okay. Yeah.

Carol Marks:

Yeah. All right. Funny as I start watching that it gives I watched the first episode was like, okay, it's alright.

Unknown:

It's it's really funny. It's relatable. It's dumb. But

Carol Marks:

they were showing a clip somewhere. Oh, it was at work. They had it on work, because I think they have it all work because it's on a regular network.

Unknown:

I think it was on network at one time.

Carol Marks:

Okay. At least I'm assuming that's what it was. Yeah. So they had a short little clip on it. And it looked funny. So I'm gonna go back to it and watch it.

Unknown:

There's a bunch of stuff on Netflix right now that's out. There's this one documentary about the nightstalker in California somebody somebody else on Twitter, so they started watching it and they were freaked out by a guy's a psychopath. Okay, I have to watch that guy is straight up crazy.

Carol Marks:

I have to watch that. Do you know what though? I want to stay with something fun, lighthearted comic relief because of what's happening in the nation right now. Yeah, it's I've decided to turn off the news. Turn off. I've actually unfollowed and muted a lot of people that did political thing. Oh, yeah. Me too. Because I just I can't I can't do it anymore. Oh, I still follow a couple people that aren't crazy. I say crazy, but you know, but I just I can't do it anymore. I don't blame you know, call me a quitter.

Unknown:

I don't know. But I feel like it comes in waves. Yeah. You know, obviously more high tension stuff. You're gonna have a lot of more people speak up. Maybe it dies down and six months, eight months. There's always something that's gonna stir it up again. Right, right. Right. Right.

Carol Marks:

I'm just I'm curious to see in read how people are going to talk about or write about or social media about what's happened. Biden now that he's president.

Unknown:

Yeah, you know, the shift. They're probably gonna turn it into something bad.

Carol Marks:

No, I don't think so. No. Thank all the liberals and democrats that voted for him. They're gonna take over. Yeah, the the atmosphere of policy of communication. Yeah. All types of communication. So I think they're gonna take over and it's gonna be all good about Biden. Nothing's gonna be bad. Nobody's gonna say anything bad. Well, maybe that's a good No. In other words, nobody's gonna tell the truth. That's what I'm saying

Unknown:

they're gonna tell half truths, I think. But you know what that happens everyone does and it's gonna happen. It's happened in the past and it's just going to continue to happen

Carol Marks:

in the future. And so here's what I decided to do, I decided that I because you know, they they're they just calling for unity and all this crap.

Unknown:

But just to call for Well,

Carol Marks:

I mean unity is good, they call for unity, but then they go and talk bad and that people and then they go divide people on both sides do it well, so I've decided I'm just gonna withdraw from all of that and do what I can in my life to be positive.

Unknown:

Forget the rest. I'll just tell you what, I'd be so happy if we just get stimulus checks out.

Carol Marks:

No, Gracie, you don't want stimulus checks right now. That's not what you want. Not every day. I'm not saying I don't want one every

Unknown:

week. Like every

Carol Marks:

that's what they want you to want. They want you to depend on the government. And I fell into that No, no, get out of that hole. I think I will. But you have a good job. Do I know. You just need to pay off your debt. Yeah. And then you'll be fine. Yeah. Because you have a good job and you have a job where you can advance? I can.

Unknown:

Yes. That's the exciting part of it. That's the reason why I wanted

Carol Marks:

to be if you would go back to school and get the other two years to get your bachelor's, then you'd be set. Just saying it could still happen. One class at a time. Anyway. Anyway. Yeah, we got off on that tangent. We're at 40 minutes. But you know, I could talk forever. I could too. Yeah.

Unknown:

What are you going to do the rest of the day? The rest of the day? I'm probably gonna have to go row to 11 o'clock already that late. Yeah,

Carol Marks:

I need to eat I'm probably gonna go row not eaten. No. Oh, in addition to a keto I'm also trying to do this intermittent fasting. Yeah. Which I'm not doing it on purpose. It's just happening because of the shift work. I work. Exactly. So And anyway, whatever. I'm going to go row and then I'm probably going to edit this and put it out and get it scheduled for tomorrow. And then probably watch the bunch of movies and shows the rest of the day. Probably watch shits Creek.

Unknown:

It's so funny. It just gets funnier and funnier. Okay, good. Good. Good. Good. Yeah. Well,

Carol Marks:

and the cast that I mean, come on the cast does it? Yeah.

Unknown:

It's really good. Good actors. Yeah.

Carol Marks:

Yeah, yep. Yep. But yeah,

Unknown:

it's funny. It just courses their lives as they do you want to explain why sheets Creek is you? You so I

Carol Marks:

don't know what apparently this family that were super, super, super, super rich in New York City. Yeah, they're they partners like did something illegal and now the government came and seize all their assets. Now they're poor as poor as poor. Dad moved this town that the dad had bought as a joke for his science. So that's the only recourse they have to go

Unknown:

live somewhere because they're gonna they were gonna try to sell the town to get their money back. Right. Nobody wants the town. Well, I

Carol Marks:

didn't get that far yet. All I they all I know. first episode, they've moved to that town. And there's in this hotel room, but they're just trying to make a hotel room. I

Unknown:

should say motel. Eight room. Yeah. Okay, well, anyway, that's what I'm doing the rest of the day. Yeah, I'm doing the same thing. I need to do laundry. Oh, that's another thing. I need to do laundry. Yeah. So I'll do laundry. Probably while I'm watching TV. Well, hope this podcast sounds good.

Carol Marks:

I don't do. We'll see.

Unknown:

I have a feeling it does. You know,

Carol Marks:

I'm just glad you're back, even if it's part time. So let me ask you this. If I'm doing a podcast, but if I'm doing an episode by myself, what what do you think I should talk about?

Unknown:

Well, I've listened to your podcasts and what you're talking about. I thoroughly enjoy even the rowing one. Yeah, really? Little bit.

Carol Marks:

I didn't know I didn't care for At first I thought it was gonna be great. But then I went back and listen, I was like, Oh, god, that's boring. It's terrible. I was

Unknown:

terrible. Like your your daily life, what you go through and I mean, yeah, the rowing when you're exercising about it, it's comforting to know. But as far as like little things, I went to Target today, and I found this really cute necklace that was only there for 999. I did want to get it back. I go back again about that's just an example.

Carol Marks:

That's the kind of stuff Yeah, okay, good. That's what I kind of want to do, too. I don't want to be structured. Even though here's the thing. I read a lot about podcasts and listen to a lot of things about podcasting. And they say you should have a super niche podcast, not necessarily so and then people say just do what you want. As long as you're enjoying it. Well, the podcast I listen to the two bears one cave and the unfiltered one. They talk about any Yeah, but they're together. They're together and they're, they're comedians. Yeah. So they can't Talking about anything true and they're already famous.

Unknown:

Well, they're your two ladies. They just their two together

Carol Marks:

though. I'm not by myself. Yeah, sometimes that's something by myself. I like to be unconventional, too. I like to take my phone with me in regard

Unknown:

to what I like, okay? around like, really you just have stuff is just free thought, okay, really? That's what I like. And

Carol Marks:

that's what I like doing too. Yeah, but I think oh, it's not what it's supposed to be podcasters are supposed to be doing, but I like being different anyway. So I'll just go back to that.

Unknown:

I like it. Yeah, just like into thoughts, your what you see on the walk? And

Carol Marks:

yeah, I like it too. Good, good, good, good. And I really think that's the way people are gonna start going anyway. Instead of having a super fancy studio and all this expensive equipment and all this software you have to learn and I just take my phone or recording and put it on. I like it. Okay, good. I like it. I love the name of it more remarks because it It encompasses a bunch of different things. The number one is the extension of the blog. Number two, it's me and you, because you're the more remark you're the more marks even though you change your name since you got married, which is fine.

Unknown:

But you know, it just it goes well with the Carroll remarks blog. And when he searches on podcasts, Apple podcasts, were the only more remarks on this Really? I'm pretty sure okay, I think we are two hours is like the first one that pops.

Carol Marks:

You know, we're on a lot of platforms or we'll modify. Yep, we're on I Heart Radio. Yeah, we are on Google podcasts. We are on Stitcher, we're on overcast, we're on all of them. If you go if you search for more remarques buzzsprout. That is where our main podcast lives at to host us as bas Brown. And you'll see we have our website there because it's a free thing that you get with bus Brett when you sign up. I love bus route, by the way, love them. But anyway, search for more remarks bus sprout, and it'll come up, you click on it. And then you'll see all of our podcasts there all of our episodes. And then you if you click on it, it'll say listen to on. And then it lists everything that we're on. And there's like 1520 of platforms that holy moly,

Unknown:

hopefully we're reaching out to somebody, I don't know, hopefully, if you just decide to randomly search a podcast, what would you even call it? Like? What kind of genre

Carol Marks:

were personal journals is what I called it, because that was under the category. Yeah, I didn't know what else to put it under personal journals, life or society and culture, personal journals. And then I think leisure something like that. I don't know what else we would call it comedy. Yeah, but it's no, it's not comedy. There's nothing out there like for family or generic or commentary or life just chatting or sent No, nothing that I could see.

Unknown:

Hopefully you like us. Yes. Hopefully you come back.

Carol Marks:

Yes, please come back. Even if it's just me by myself talking, which will be because I want to try to get back on a regular schedule again. Because I think that helps to Yeah, putting out on a certain day, every week or whatever. So if even if I had to do by myself for every once in a while, then it'll be shorter than when I'm doing it by myself. Be like 15 minutes. Yeah, that's it for now. Is that all you wanted? We're good for now. Okay, bye. Thanks for listening, everyone.
