In this episode, I share how to experience change without chaos. I share the three key strategies: visualization, listening to your knowing, and showing immense self-compassion. She also provides a bonus strategy for those with ADHD brains. By implementing these strategies, you can navigate change with more ease and create sustainable transformations in your life.

We also dive deep into the techniques that have revolutionized the way we adapt, especially for those of us with an ADHD brain. You'll hear about the successes and the struggles, including my own, and how visualization and self-compassion are vital tools in this journey. By the end, I'll leave you with a powerful reminder to honor your individuality and pave your own path to radical visibility. So tune in, take heart, and get ready to transform the way you approach life's inevitable changes—with less chaos and more grace.

Speaker 1:

Change does not often happen in such big leaps. A sustainable change happens in small, incremental steps that then end up compounding and then create new neurological pathways in the brain that allow you to sustain that change change. Hello, my beautiful friends, and welcome to another episode of Road to Radical Visibility. My name is Rachel Freeman Sowers, your host and creator of this podcast, and if you've hung out here for very long, you'll know this podcast is all about becoming visible to yourself so that you can experience your life exactly the way that you want to, and today is all about experiencing change without all the chaos. I know you know what I'm talking about. I know what I'm talking about because I've been experiencing it for about the last nine months. My clients have also been experiencing it, and I just think there's a lot of change and shifts going on in the world all of the time. But before we jump into that, I want to just let you know that one thing that has been helping me with the changes and manage the changes with less chaos is my ability to give myself and my body the nutrition it needs and the ingredients it actually needs that help it to calm the F down, first of all, to be able to focus and bring in this ability to create follow through with the things that I actually want and that I prioritize. And this little thing that's helping me do this is a little bottle called Magic Mind. It is actually a matcha-based shot of goodness pure goodness for your body. It contains nootropics, ashwagandha, turmeric, lion's mane and cordyceps other aptogens that are proven to improve focus and memory productivity, reduce inflammation, create sharper brain functioning and give you that clean, non-jittery energy that will actually help you stay focused. I have an ADHD brain. I don't know if you do, but it gets distracted fairly easily. In the past and what I have found? That when I incorporate things like lion's mane and quarter steps and turmeric anti-inflammatory ingredients my body loves, loves, loves it, loves, loves, loves it. The thing about Magic Mind and I say it every single time is that it's so easy to incorporate into my daily routine. I literally put the little shots in my fridge, I shake them up every single morning, I drink them down and it just helps me every single day. Now I've been having Magic Mind for several days in a row and you see the benefits compound over time.

Speaker 1:

So if this is something that you're interested in, feel free to give it a try. I want you to know that this is a product that will feed your body, give it what it needs so that you can focus and actually follow through with what you want to follow through with, because you can't actually follow through with what you want to follow through with, because you can't experience your life the way you want to, unless you can take action and prioritize and commit to yourself every single freaking day. Now, if you're interested in finding out more about this and actually purchasing Magic Mind, you can get a 20% off your order by using the code ROADRADICAL20. That's R-O-A-D-R-A-D-I-C-A-L-2-0 at wwwmagicmindcom. Forward slash ROADRADICAL. At checkout. That's again Road Radical at wwwmagicmindcom forward slash Road Radical. If you have been searching for something to help you, I would fully recommend this product and I can't wait for you to try it.

Speaker 1:

Okay, my friends, it's time to dig in to the real meat of the matter, and today I want to share with you three things that will help you experience change without the feelings of chaos. Now, the feelings of chaos can be something like anxiety, worry, judgment, shame, just this amped up feeling. And it is natural just FYI, it is natural for you to feel a little bit of I don't know excitement, maybe some anxiety, maybe some trepidation in a change, and yet it doesn't have to feel like it's so overwhelming and, if we want it to, it can feel a lot less than what it's ever felt for you in the past. I help my clients for the last 25 years create change in their life and I think the important thing to remember is that change often happens, does not. I will say this again change does not often happen in such big leaps. A sustainable change happens in small, incremental steps that then end up compounding and then create new neurological pathways in the brain that allow you to sustain that change. That is like this golden ticket. That and the other thing is that there are subconscious things that you're not aware of that return you back to old patterns, and until you rewire that, until you uncover that and create a consciousness around those things and create a consciousness around those things, change will feel harder, it will feel less smooth, it doesn't flow.

Speaker 1:

I've been someone who has prided myself in being able to make quick changes, and here it comes. In the past, I would fool myself to be like oh yeah, I'm making these quick changes, oh yeah, I can move, I can pivot, I can do all these things, but then I found myself being like what the fuck am I doing? Then it was constant, pivoted and constantly changing. Again, my ADHD brain plays a role in this. And, just FYI, when I was young I mean I'm 52 now, born in 1972. When I was young, there was nothing like ADHD. We didn't know about ADHD. You worked harder, you studied more, you got disciplined for the things you couldn't do, you got demeaned, you got judged, you got shamed, and some of that still happens today. Let's just be real about it. But in finding and identifying how the ADHD brain works, how my brain works, and seeing it in my clients, these things have really been helpful for them. In fact, realizing and learning about neuroscience and how the brain is actually working, in addition to a mind-body connection, is what has really caused my clients to make significant changes that are sustainable.

Speaker 1:

I still have people contacting me today saying I can't believe I get to live this life that I'm living. I can't believe I get to experience this in my life. I can't believe I can say no when I want to and yes when I want to. I can't believe I never thought I could live without the shame and the judgment and the guilt Like. It's all possible, my friend, and it is generated through conscious awareness, immense self-compassion and the ability to stay on your own path, independent of what external circumstances, sources, people, whatever are saying you should do. My shtick has been for a really long time. It's really undoing the social constructs, religious constructs, expectations, all of the things that were put onto you or made you believe you are who you are, that weren't ever yours in the first place. So it's creating this renewed identity about who you are, as you want to experience your life exactly the way that you want to.

Speaker 1:

All right, so the first thing is visualization. Now, this could be for other people. It's called meditation. Visualization is actually where you visualize how you want the change to be, how you are being within the change. So, for example, I moved to Vancouver, washington, nine months ago and two weeks were moving into a house. The house is beautiful. It's probably one of the most beautiful places I have lived in thus far. The backyard is full of huge, gigantic redwood trees, there's a cupboard deck, there's a sun deck, the house is bigger than I've ever lived in before and it just feels so abundant. And even though this is a really great thing that's happening.

Speaker 1:

A transition is also happening. There's several kind of up levels that happen here within you. So it's like how do I want to manage this change? How do I want to be as I'm managing the transition, as we're transitioning into a place, into something that we actually have wanted and have had a goal to accomplish in life? So visualization is where you are telling your brain what is real. Remember that you tell your brain what is real all of the time. Remember that you tell your brain what is real all of the time. The reason people struggle with this is because there are patterns from environments, experiences, circumstances that have been created, that continue to hold, I guess, people hostage, where they can't make the change, and these patterns are the thing that hold you back. So when we visualize, we actually tell our brain what is real.

Speaker 1:

Now, in a visualization, what you essentially want to make sure that you're doing, there's three essentials you want to make sure that you can picture yourself in this situation. You want to make sure that you can picture yourself in this situation. You want to make sure that you're having the emotions that you want to have when you're experiencing the change or the transition. And third, you're going to practice this visualization. It doesn't have to be a 10-minute, 20-minute, 30-minute hour visualization. It can literally be where you stop right now, in the next couple of minutes, and you're like closing your eyes and you're like, how do I want to experience this change? So for me, it's like I want to have things organized. I see myself tired let's just be real but also I see myself in gratitude and awe. I see myself addressing the challenges in the way that I want to. I see my furniture in this new place and how I'm visualizing. This is what I'm telling myself is real. So that's number one.

Speaker 1:

Number two is listening to your knowing and really cutting out the things that are not a priority at this time. It's also really helpful to realize that if you're in a transition, this is a season of your life, and when you're fully present in the season of your life, you then are able to experience it the way that you want to, because you're consciously creating and co-creating what you want in life. So my thing is is like okay, these are tasks I need to get done. How is it that I want to be feeling in those tasks? How do I see myself being in those tasks? How am I responding to obstacles or challenges? Right, and anything that doesn't have to do with that goes and takes a back seat.

Speaker 1:

Now this leads to number three, and this is showing immense self-compassion. This is where you're going to remove the judgment. Where you're going to remove the judgment, you're going to remove the shame and you're going to let go of the FOMO. So, with number two, when you prioritize and you only do what is the priority for you, you can have feelings of FOMO. But let me ask you this in this transition that you're going through, that you're anticipating going through that I'm going through, I don't need to have a fear of missing out on something else, because I'm exactly where I want to be. I choose to be here, I choose to be present in the transition, I choose to say this is what I want. So that kind of leads back to the judgment, where you're doing this shift without the judgment, because this is what you want. There's no reason to judge what you should be doing, what you could be doing. This also removes the shame. You have decided and committed to yourself. I want to move into this place. I am excited about moving into this new house and with that is going to come some challenges, but this is what I want.

Speaker 1:

See, so many times we're stuck in asking ourselves why is this happening? Why am I feeling the challenges? Why can't I? I should have done this, I could have done this. None of that is helpful. It's not helpful. What is helpful to say is what do I want and what do I need to get there? Okay, so this is number four, which is the bonus, and this is for those of you that have the ADHD brains.

Speaker 1:

No, I create an ADHD outline, but it is not your typical outline, just FYI. I am a big picture person. I like to see and can see a big picture, and then I go into the details. So I create an ADHD outline which is like a piece of art. I guess my brain loves art. If you've seen my background in my videos, art speaks to me, music speaks to me. So what I do is I create a circle and I put it in the middle of a page and I put down the transition and how I want to feel about that transition, and then I start creating the web. The web is all of the places, so I draw lines out from the circle out to blank space and then I put in the tasks that are going to help me feel the way I want to feel.

Speaker 1:

So the center is the reminder that in this transition, my intention is to feel these ways. If I am not feeling this way, I know how to get back to feeling that way. But the specific things that need to be accomplished are reminders that help me when I feel like, let's just say, in the move, we're packing all our stuff up, things are in chaos around our house, it doesn't work well. Chaos doesn't work well for me, it just doesn't. And so when I see the boxes, when I see the chaos, I remind myself that this is what I want. So everything goes back to the center. The center is how I want to experience the transition. You know, you hear a lot of people say what is your why? The center for this is my, why I am doing the thing on the outside, so that I can have the thing on the inside, because I want it, because I choose it, because it's my fucking life. Is this making sense Now? My fucking life, is this making sense Now? I'd love to hear if this podcast is making sense, if this information is making sense, because then we put all of these things together and it is the perfect combination that is specifically curated to you because it's created by you. You're visualizing it, you're then listening to your knowing, you're cutting out the other noise and saying this is what I choose, this is what is necessary, so that I can experience this transition the way that I want to.

Speaker 1:

You become uncompromising in your way of being Just FYI. People aren't going to like this very much sometimes and if you're going counterclockwise and you're stirring the pot, they're definitely not going to like it and they're going to be okay If they are adults. They have their own minds, develop some coping skills, get to what you need to get and then you take care of yourself. It is not for me to take care of everybody else. Then you begin to show yourself compassion. You remove that fear of missing out. You stop thinking about the things that you wanted and you come to the present and say this is what I want right now. You bring yourself back into your own self, right, you remove that shame and that judgment and then you have the outline, which is visual, which helps you picture. When you use the outline to create and know the things that you need to do. It's very clear. It allows you to picture yourself experiencing that transition which is in the center, the way that you want to.

Speaker 1:

All right, this is what I wanted to share with you today. I wanted to make it short and sweet and to allow you to know that you can experience change without the chaos. When you do these four things, it will make it much, much easier. I guarantee it. And if you try these sort of things and it doesn't make it easier, reach out to me and let me help you.
