Having survived a parent’s worst nightmare, Eileen Hornback chronicled her son’s miraculous return from the brink of death as he struggled with traumatic brain injury. Overwhelmed with the need to provide medical updates to friends and family, she was inspired to blog throughout his recovery. It became a cathartic platform that enabled others to grasp the power of prayer that sustained her when faced with life and death decisions. The blog became the outline for this book that provides hope and encouragement to other families dealing with their own personal tragedies.
Becoming a First Contact volunteer with the Brain Injury Alliance of KY, was a natural transition for Eileen as she sought to reach out to other families. As a speaker for Fellowship for Christian Athletes, her message allows hundreds of teenagers to understand the impact of their decisions and meet God in powerful and personal ways as she unfolds the story of her son’s amazing journey.
Married to Scott for over 35 years, she is the mother of four who spends her spare time as an interview coach for young women competing in pageants. As a board member for the Dream Factory of Louisville, she embraces the mission to grant wishes for children who have life threatening and chronic illnesses.
