One of the reasons why it is hard to pay attention is because it often requires us to turn away from what we’re naturally conditioned to do. It’s hard to keep our thoughts at bay and it requires us to have a firm commitment to stay focused. We have this same attention deficit when we come to God, our mind wanders, our thoughts take over.
