Welcome to Episode 13 of The Yoga Den Podcast.
This week’s guest, Fiona Callanan has a fantastic story.
Originally from the UK, Fiona has spent the majority of her working life in Asia, first teaching English in Japan, then as a junior lawyer in Thailand. It was during her Thailand stint that Fiona got caught up in the traumatic 2004 tsunami, an event that led to her losing a leg.
Determined not to let this define her or derail her burgeoning legal career, Fiona carved out a successful career for herself as a BigLaw lawyer, first in London, before relocating to Hong Kong.
But like many, the stresses of the job created issues for her and she found yoga. Yoga not only made her rethink her career choice but her entire life, as you'll hear her talk more about in this episode.
She's now managed to find a legal role that works for her, that she enjoys, and that’s compatible with her relatively new life as a yoga teacher in Hong Kong.
With a new website on the horizon, and no doubt more events coming in the new year, exciting times lie ahead for Fiona.
For anyone that’s been listening to the show each week and thinking “I want balance but I don’t want to quit my job” This is the episode for you.
