Every familiar story has components that often get overlooked because we travel to the conclusion without pondering the journey. Our life is familiar to us, so we think how we think and feel how we feel without consideration as to whether those things are still a part of the story being woven in our life now. Much like auto pilot, we let go of the wheel and focus on other things.
Today’s message takes an often told story and pauses to consider aspects relevant to why the story is being told. You will not hear the prodigal son story the same way again.
The nuances hidden in it are numerous. This message is the first of two detailing aspects of the story that directly relate to your life. Even if you listen to this message more than once, deeper truths hidden inside of you will spring to the surface each time. It is relevant to where you are in life no matter where you are.
Part two, which I will preach April 7, changed my (Jonathan Althoff) thinking so profoundly I cannot think of another day without noticing a greater joy.
