In fencing, a riposte is when someone stabs at you and you block it and immediately lunch back. When Jesus is confronted or challenged, he does this same kind of maneuver in a very powerful way. Today we look at the first of several found in John chapter 7.
His art of responding and challenging in return speaks to us today. The things that others thought of back then about Jesus are also true in many ways for us. Let us not get complacent in our relationship with Jesus Christ as we have also put a challenge to him that he will have to respond back to us individually.
