He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

Oops! We Lost The Bible S21e17 2chron34:14
What would the world be like if we had NO BIBLES, no communication from God? And then, what would happen if one day, someone FINDS THE BIBLE. Well, exactly this happens in 622BC.
Josiah, one of the few good kings, sent a priest to clean out the temple and FOUND THE BOOK OF THE LAW. So now what? the Bible requests an ANSWER. Everybody answers the Bible when they hear it in some way.
Josiah responds beautifully. We will learn what this young man does when he finds the Bible that has been lost. Join me in discovering it with him for 7 minutes. Then answer by joining at bewithme.us or bewithme.us@gmail.com to devote yourself to it tomorrow too.
Good morning, my brothers and sisters, welcome to episode 17. Today's is going to be a doozy our official passages in Second Timothy 316, where we talks about, we have the breath of God, All scripture is breathed out by God. Well, that's the good news. You're gonna title 30 Oops, we lost the Bible, because we're going to ask the question, what if I forget what's in the Bible? Or literally, this happens in the story today? What happens if I lose the Bible? In fact, I lose all the Bibles that our society has no Bibles whatsoever? Well, the crazy thing about this, it's in the Bible that happened in 622 BCE. It happened under the reign of Josiah and the, the nasty kings that came before him. So if you have a Bible today, hopefully you have an Old Testament turned to Second Chronicles, Chapter 34. And we're going to find out what happens when a group of people have lost the Bible for their entire lives. They have no Bible, and then they find it. So I'm going to start from Second Chronicles chapter 34. So the setting is, Josiah is king, he starts his king as an eight year old boy and 640 BC, that 16 years of age, he starts to seek the God of David, which is really cool. And then in 622, when he's 26 years old, he starts to clean out the temple, which which was just a wreck. And then this happens. So it can Hilkiah is the high priest. So this is from chapter 34. Second Chronicles 34, verse 14, Hilkiah, the priest found the book of the law of the Lord given through Moses, probably the book of Deuteronomy, they think, or maybe the whole pennant hook. Anyway, they had no Bible, and Hilkiah finds the Bible. So what do you do? What do you do when you find the Bible? You put it back in the corner? Well, here's what you find out in verse 15, then Hilkiah answered. So everybody who finds the Bible has to answer it. So Hilkiah does something with it. And he says, to shave and who's like the, the Chief of Staff, he says, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah gave the book to shaping and shaping brought the book to the king. This is King James is 26 years old. And he tells the king in verse 18, Hilkiah, the priest has given me a book and shaven, read from it, before the king. And when King when the king heard the words of the law, let me pause there, this is verse 19. So there is no Bible for his entire hires life. Josiah, has never read the Bible. He's never heard the Bible, the Bible has been lost. The Bible was gone from their society, and then hears the words for the first time he finds the book of the lie. Hilkiah finds it, he finds the Bible, if we had lost the Bible, we lived in a world without the Bible men were doing whatever they wanted to do. We had no, you know, no Sabbath order, or justice or no moral code. And, and Hilkiah finds it does the right thing, shape and does the right thing. He reads it before the king. So what's that game going to do? Here it is. And when the king heard the words of the law, verse 19, he tore his clothes. Later, we find out he weeps before it. And he says, Go inquire for the Lord for me. And for those who are left in Israel and Judah concerning the words of the book that has been found for great is the wrath of the Lord that is poured out on us, because we're not doing any of this stuff. Because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord, to do according to all that is written in the book. So then the Prophet answers just a little while later, verse 27, and says, because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God, when you heard his words against this place, and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me, and have torn your clothes and wet before me, I also have heard you declares the Lord. And then later he gathers the whole, all the people of Israel, the great and the small. And he says, verse 30, and he read in there hearing all the words of the book of the covenant that had been found in the house of the Lord. And the king stood in his palace and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep His commandments with all his heart, and with all his digital, verse 32, and he made all who were present in Jerusalem, join in it. And then in verse 33, we find out well, how did this end at the end of his life, he lived a full life. All his days, he did not turn away from following the Lord, the God of their fathers. So we find out what happens to Josiah leads, eight and 16 and 26 and all the way to his death. All right, So he gets the breath of God for the first time. But let's not underestimate this moment. What do you do when you hear the Bible for the first time and he tears his clothes, he weeps before it. He has a tender heart, he humbles himself. And he gathers everybody and fixes this thing. So. So when you find the book of the law, generally it happens because there's some fruit of some decision, which was him to go clean out the temple. And so the question of you What do you need to set right and repair? And when you find the book of the law, when you find the breath of God, if you will, what will you do? There's an answer that needs to be given Hilkiah answers by bringing it to the shape and shape and answers that by reading it before the King Josiah answers it by listening to it and repents and being tearful, and then he gets busy, he makes a covenant and he follows it the rest of his life. So he tears his clothes, he weeps. So what would God what is God said? That you must tear your clothes because of or if we could pour the breath of God over your life? What would you what would you rent your clothes? What would you weep over in grief? That you are under his righteous wrath and right now because of and will you respond like Josiah did with a tender heart tumbled before the Lord? What will you do we read the we even read the book? Like shape? And did? Or will you make a covenant and walk in it walk before the Lord with all your heart, all your soul? What would the people do? So this is just a great question. It just a foundational question is what do people do when they forget the Bible? What do they do when they literally lose the Bible? They lost every copy that they had in their society, which was only one, they lost the Bible for generations. And then here's the question, well, what will people do when they find the Bible? I recommend that we be like Josiah, who sought after it. He finds it. He reads it. He gathered the people together. He believed it. He wept. He tore his clothes. He was humbled before he committed he made a covenant with it. He didn't turn away for the rest of his life. Let's be like Josiah, let's not lose the Bible. Thanks for listening.
