Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

I laughed when I read that Babylon is Fallen before she was even introduced as an character in the book of Revelation. John sees the END of Babylon before he even sees her BEGINNING.
I cried when I read about the havoc that she causes before she is thrown down. She is a powerful enemy of God. She requires a powerful God with a powerful can of wrath to pour out upon her. She wreaks havoc on the people of God with glee. But don't worry, Jesus will SIT DOWN after she is THROWN DOWN.

The Messages of the Three Angels
6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and givehim glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”
It is the hour of JUDGMENT
Future moment. Similar to Chapter 11 fast forwards you to Ch 202122time
PROLEPTIC-quick fast forward to the end of Revelation.
Jesus wins. He not only WILL reign, at that time is IS reigning
This is a REAL prediction/prophecy
Wrath is here. Worship is here at the same time
Wrath of God does not exclude worship, it INCLUDES worship******
It is a holy thing to say: I LOVE the WRATH OF GOD*********
The GOSPEL goes on
The good news that Jesus did it is still relevant in heaven*****
A not-yet believer considers the Gospel and Believes for 1st time
An on earth believer meditates on its wonder and places
Herself under that truth in admiration and worship
An already in heaven-end time angel continues to proclaim
To every nation tribe language and people
I don’t see an end to the good news of Jesus no matter WHEN you peer into time
Worship the creator, not the created
Fear God,
Reverence, respect, and be afraid, be a little terrified
Revelation is a little terrifiying, and appropriately so…
Rather than run away: stay. Recognize His power,
Give Him glory
He already has glory-had it, will have it
What you need is the recognition of it, acknowledgment of it,
Proclamation of it
8 Another angel, a second, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality.”
14:8 Another angel announces that Babylon is fallen (echoing Isa. 21:9) before Babylon even appears in the narrative I got a big kick out of angel’s #2 message:
Babylon is fallen—BUT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN INTRODUCED YET
JOHN sees the
END of Babylon before he even sees the BEGINNINg*******
“I probably should learn a little about Babylon as I LOL at her destruction”
Rev16: 19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20
Rev 17: 3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. 5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” 6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.
Serious business. Really really really bad entity
Babylon is nothing to fool around with, nothing to laugh at, at least until the LAMB opens His can of WRATH upon her
Great City
Influences ALL NATIONS: MADE THEM do what
Drink the wine, of the passion of her sexual immorality
Here is point: Jesus wins at great cost******
Jesus wins over great enemies that have trampled on
His saints, His church, His world, His ways
This Babylon is very serious business and is very powerful
Therefore, will need certain strength to overcome it
She has a power, influence, riches,
She has blasphemy , full abominations, impurity and immorality

BABYLON WANTS YOUR ZIPPER******
Has reveled in the death of saints and martyrs for Jesus
Made havoc in the people of God
A Babylon-sized enemy is going to need a God-sized conquerer
With Jesus-sized, lamb-empowered blood, sacrifice,
Jesus stands up to sit her down********
Jesus will sit down after she is THROWN down.********
Conclusions:
He wins.**** Here’s a picture of it
Gospel
I don’t see an end to the good news of Jesus no matter WHEN you peer into time
Gospel is still the gospel and we’ll admire it after wrath is done
What Jesus did for us, and does for us will still be spectacular and marvelous—marveling—even after all opposition is destroyed
Wrath of God does not exclude worship, it INCLUDES worship******
It is a holy thing to say: I LOVE the WRATH OF GOD*********
Babylon
God cared enough to tell us this Babylon is FALLEN before introduced
Laugh with joy
Sobered with seriousness
She wrecked havoc on the earth and on God’s people
BABYLON WANTS YOUR ZIPPER******
And got her just due: a can of WRATH
Babylon is no laughing matter, at least not now.
Jesus stands up to sit her down********
Jesus will sit down after she is THROWN down.********
