Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder

We must have fresh EXPOSURE to have fresh DISCLOSURE S28e174 Jn21:1

Michael Smith Season 28 Episode 174

Just like you probably put yourself on the path toward breakfast, it is wise to put ourselves on the path of revelation before the Lord.

His DISCLOSURE is related to, and is perhap proportional to our EXPOSURE.

Because we as humans forget, if the revelation is not FRESH, there is no revelation. We MUST have fresh exposure to have fresh disclosure. Join me for 7 minutes of exposure. Comment if you get a disclosure.

S28e174 Jn21:1

21 After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and he revealed himself in this way. 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

4 Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.” 6 He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. 7 That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, “It is the Lord!”When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea. 8 The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.

9 When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. 14 This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Disciples gotta eat

Real story. Real fishermen. Really got skunked to 153.

Encountering the unrecognized Jesus. Was He unrecognizable?

Unrecognizing Jesus, 100 yards away.

Similarly, Mary Mag didn’t recognize Him within clinging distance.

What’s for breakfast? What does Jesus have? Bread and some fish

         Need more: 9 guys

3rd time Jesus was revealed

Those in the church, how many times has Jesus been revealed to you?

         How many new interactions

(I pray that some are brand new not yet believers and this is the first one!)

What collection of fresh exposures do you have to remember?

         Why so many? 100s, 1000s, 10,000s

Jesus is big. Multifaceted. One day His creation. Another His compassion; power; teaching; wrath; patience I COULD GO ON

3rd time. Kind of disappointed in them. See form, hear words. =

         I got nothing. Blank page.

Here see His power over the fish

We see His care in preparing breakfast for a group of hungry, tired fishermen/disciples. What are you going to do with your life?

                  2. We forget. Why come back tomorrow? Why listen to this podcast daily? Because you will forget what we talk about today, or at least some of it.  How do I know that? Because I forget, and such are humans

What was yesterday’s podcast about? BELIEF.

These things are written so you may believe

What is belief? When to believe? Why to believe. HOW to believe

Story about the 2 year old who one day grabs ahold of truth HOLDS on

In a way, that story, that insight, that revelation was for YESTERDAY

                  3. Most often,Because we forget, if the revelation is not FRESH, there is no revelation. We MUST have fresh exposure to have fresh disclosure We MUST have fresh exposure to have fresh disclosure

We MUST have fresh exposure to have fresh disclosure

HABITS of holiness—sounds too high flutin’

Put yourself on the path to regularly see Him, encounter, and maybe, just maybe remember. Of Awe, of fellowship, of service, of Word

When God provided for the forming nation of Israel in the desert for 40 years he provided FRESH MANNA. Bread from the sky. Enough for today, but not enough for tomorrow. Tomorrow, was it’s own day. Tomorrow was a day when the Lord would be sought with renewed effort. In some ways, His DISCLOSURE is related to, perhaps proportional to our EXPOSURE

Using a picture from David Mathis Habits of grace: Some of His diamonds are scattered on the ground and are easy to find.

Some of His diamonds must be dug for just a bit

Some of His diamonds require a lifelong effort of mining for the veins of diamonds below. Worth it.

Charge is to put ourselves on a path to encounter Him on a regular basis

Habits on the Sabbath—worship, fellowship, Lord’s table, Word

Habits on the non-Sabbath—worship, consideration, Word

Must feed yourself regularly. You eat, more than just on Sunday

You have put yourself on the path toward breakfast, haven’t you

His DISCLOSURE is related to, perhaps proportional to our EXPOSURE

Because we forget, if the revelation is not FRESH, there is no revelation. We MUST have fresh exposure to have fresh disclosure
