Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’
Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
You mean to tell me that there is MORE? S28e182 Jn21:24
As John writes the last paragraph of JOHN, he leaves a teaser for the future: There is a LOT MORE of Jesus. You've got a library as big as the world to explore. We'll have to wait for that library.
Meantime, we have this book, this Bible. Let us not let it go to waste. Please read it and understand the truths within. More than that, please BELIEVE.

You mean to tell me that there is MORE? S28e182 Jn21:24
John is Finishing his gospel. Final thoughts. Last page. We’d best listen
Final points. Final truth. Final argument. Much bigger Lord than can be contained
Jn21: 24 This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.
25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
Now John, the apostle, the disciple, the writer, finishes his gospel today
He tells us that he, John has been BEARING WITNESS, bigger God
The structure of the tool has been to bear witness
Give evidence of the person and the proceedings of the things of Jesus
He has taken the things of Jesus, not of himself, to put forward leading toward your belief that Jesus is the Christ
Writing these things, but not writing ALL THE THINGS OF JESUS
21:25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
All the books filling all the world couldn’t contain the many other things that Jesus did.
First reponse is curiosity. Lord, what of the other things. I’m interested.
The things here we end in marveling and Awe, so what else do you have?
I think that is a reality for a world that isn’t here and a time that isn’t now
If you have considered the claims of Christ and found Him fantastic:
Know this: THERE IS MORE
If you have admired His actions: Know this: THERE IS MORE
If you have wondered upon His words: Know this: THERE IS MORE
If you have trusted the truths here: Know this: THERE IS MORE
If you have placed your faith in what you currently have access to:
Know this: THERE IS MORE
If you have enjoyed book of John: Know this: THERE IS MORE
How much more? Well we have a picture of how much more. If we stack up “the book of John into my office room, 10,000 books could fit, millions in my house, millions in every house on my street. Millions more in each driveway, Millions in the front yards, millions in the back yards, Multiple millions in each of the circles there, roads there. Billion in my neighborhood. What of other neighborhoods, billions. Trillions in state, beyond comprehension in continent.
Point here, we have an eternity to expose and probe and stand before the ongoing, revealed wonder of God.
You may say: sign me up for that! I completely agree. I cannot wait. I want it too
But do you say with John: I have written this much to ponder about. So do you ponder?
I have exposed these wonders of Jesus, finite # of wonders:SO DO YOU WONDER
I have written about these miracles: SO DO YOU marvel
I have given you these treasures: are you giving them the time they deserve?
How are you doing with the revelation I’ve given: ARE YOU REVELING in them?
Yes we can look forward to the Mega-trillions of new books puplished in heaven
But let’s honor, respect, and respond to the ONE BOOK OF John, and by extension, the one book of the bible that we do have.
Do you love the Word because of the word in and of itself? No.
We love the word because of WHO the Word, reveals; Who it contains so to spk
It is ultimately not about the words, the periods, the stories, the marvels.
It is ultimately about the person of Jesus
The faithful words of John point to the other-worldly powerful, Jesus
The kind, gentle and patient Jesus
The wounded, suffering Jesus
The conquering victorious Jesus
ACTION points
We have spent 7 months here in the Gospel of John
Why so long? Why so short? Sorry we had to hurry
I’m so sad to leave the company of this book, and the Person that is described and detailed here. Weepy about it.
I’m almost ready to go back, crack open the first page of JOHN to find Jesus again and afresh
But I know that He will have other treasure, in other texts to revel in
If your favorite, maybe current, book of the Bible
isn’t John you haven’t been paying attention!
John restates that he is a direct witness and that this is the truth.
Do you believe it? That John was there? That John tells the truth?
You mean to tell me that there is MORE? YES I do. Much more to come.
More treasures of Christ are to come, lets be faithful w treasure we have
We don’t yet have all the books, but we have this one, do you b
