Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

When faced with “Circumstances I do not prefer…”S29e10 Dt. 3:23
Moses Forbidden to Enter the Land
23 “And I pleaded with the Lord at that time, saying, 24 ‘O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as yours? 25 Please let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan, that good hill country and Lebanon.’ 26 But the Lord was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me. And the Lord said to me, ‘Enough from you; do not speak to me of this matter again. 27 Go up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward, and look at it with your eyes, for you shall not go over this Jordan. 28 But charge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall go over at the head of this people, and he shall put them in possession of the land that you shall see.’ 29 So we remained in the valley opposite Beth-peor.

You are under discipline. Youre gonna die. Joshua
You, moses, as leader of this people, are bearing a consequence of this people: BECAUSE. Of you,
Discipline Sovereignty of God; obedience of moses
It is within the Lord’s purview to discipline Moses and me.
He is the righteous judge/ He sees all perfectly
He is the just discipliner;
God draws the line for all of us: you shall go no further.
It has been this way since the discipline enacted in the Garden
Gen 3: 19 for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
EVEN MOSES lives outside the Garden of Eden and is beholden to curse
Even moses calls out to be free from the bondage of death/limitation
Mentorship
We all will have a limited life and will have to send others after us
