Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. I will spare you most of the 53 verses of curses pronounced upon the people of God. You'd rightly expect them for a people who fail to Listen to God's voice or follow His commands. But He also adds this condemnation: "Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart.."

Yesterday we considered when blessings chase you down and overtake, overwhelm you. Surely Goodness and mercy will follow me, all the days of my Life. “The Lord will open for you His good treasury”
What kind of a people does the Lord chase down with blessings?
Just anybody? What about those that do not follow Him?
At the core, God wants to bless a people that bless Him
That is, obey His commands, are inclined to His thoughts, an listen to His voice
Doesn’t promise rainbows and puppies. You still have enemies and those enemies continue to rise against you.
THE BLESSINGS OF THE LORD WILL BE SEEN IN THE CONTEXT OF ENEMIES AND BATTLES?
THE PRESENCE AND FAVOR OF THE LORD WILL BEST BE SEEN WHEN ENEMIES STAND UP. IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES,

A response is due: listen to His voice. Understand it and obey it
58 58 “If you are not careful to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, the Lord your God, 59 then the Lord will bring on you and your offspringextraordinary afflictions, afflictions severe and lasting, and sicknesses grievous and lasting. 60 And he will bring upon you again all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you.
