Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

THE GRAND CONCLUSIONS of Ps 23 S30e7
David says some pretty bold things to conclude Ps. 23:
I shall not want
I will fear no evil
I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever
We can only understand their boldness by the OTHER truths of the psalm. Join me for 7 minutes as we discover them.

3 great confessions of ps 23 THE GRAND CONCLUSIONS of Ps 23
I shall not want
I will fear no evil
I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever
Out side of the context of Ps 23, to only say them, Is to speak of self-help, pride, innocent, even ignorant wishful thinking
to say them disconnected or dislocated from the Lord is to be a motivational speech
but to understand them as dependent, and hanging between the other truths then they make sense.
The Lord, (YOU) is my Shepherd….I shall not want
For You are with me…Iwill fear no evil
I shall dwell in the house of the Lord…YOU prepare, You anoint, You overflow my cup, You chase me with goodness, You follow me with mercy, Hesed
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness f
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
This is not a theoretical, possible, some day psalm. This is DAVID, who is as real as they get, w real problems, real passions, real experiences.
David was more of a knucklehead than you, so don’t think this ps isn’t real
Don’t forget where these “grand conclusions” of Ps start
I shall not want…. The Lord, (YOU) is my Shepherd….
The truth about my provision is only known in light of the truth of Shepher
I will fear no evil…For You are with me…
The truth about the shadows is known only in light of the truth of presence
I can only say this because of Who is with me
Not to say that evil isn’t evil. That Darkness is scary. That death isn’t a curse; that sickness isn’t real. That addiction isn’t strong. That rebellionisn’t our bent. No! it is to say exactly all of that, and that it is the backdrop.
But the ps isn’t just to say that the world is a fallen place. Yes, it is fallen, Yes it is under the curse, but here is the good part: YOU ARE WITH me. BeWMe
You, o great Lord, have chosen to be here and bring Your Kingdom to this world
You have desired that your KINGDOM come. When? Now. Where? Here.
Your presence here is the only reason I can say I will fear no evil.
Only You can say what evil is allowed to befall the chosen children of God
Only You can say to what LIMIT the evil.
No evil befalls His own that is outside of HIS purview.
I shall dwell in the house of the Lord…YOU prepare, You anoint, You overflow my cup, You chase me with goodness, You follow me with mercy, Hesed
2 Corinthians 5:1 we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Philippians 3:20 20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Chris
John 14:2–3 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
Its Acreage is beyond your discovery.
It’s architecture is above your abilities.
It’s duration is longer than your heartbeat.
It’s ownership is deeded to the Almighty
It’s transportation is Jesus Himself taking us there
The truth about the future is known by the truth of His promise
He has a place for us. This is a place you cannot construct for yourself. Totally above your paygrade, skill level, talent gifing, financial resourses, phys strength
It is with all of this, and much more that I and you and all do not understand, that I can say, I shall dwell there.
I only say it because He tells me to say it. I only proclaim it because He’s promised it to me.
