Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

The Psalms of My Friends
The sky has something to say S30e22 Psalm 19.
Let’s begin with the end in mind. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
This is David’s psalm and his prayer.
Let this be our prayer too. What do you have for us to think about today?
1 The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
2 Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
4 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun,
5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the end of them,
and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
The sky has something to say
. What can I know about God by going outside?
What happens when a sentient person encounters the heavens?
The sky has something to say
We find that they are not silent in Psalm 19. The heavens declare the glory of God,
In a sense, the sky is busy making a statement and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
.The diurnal character of the day teems with meaning 2 Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
.The firmament is not uncommunicative3 There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
There is no place of ignorance that is not exposed to His truth 4 Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
The SUN happily traverses its path over the whole earth5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the end of them,
leaving no one, no place, no thing concealed from the truths of the firmament and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
The sky has something to say
what is the subject matter of the sky?
It is the GLORY of God.
It is the WORK of God
It is the Knowledge of God
It is the VOICE of God.
The heavens are DECLARING.
The sky is PROCLAIMING.
The day is SPEaking.
The night is REVEALING.
Glory is the exposure of the character and the characteristics of God.
The sky has something to say
With What attitude are these wonders declared?
Like a bridgegroom on his wedding day
Like a strong man, running the track with joy
It is like watching the winning performance
The sky has something to say
What is the scope of its’ audience?
It is from one end of the earth to another
It is wherever the sun rises upon
The voice goes out to the whole earth
There is no place where this voice is not heard
The sky has something to say let’s listen
1 The heavens declare the glory of God,

Today we learn just one thing: The sky has something to say.
Assignment: go outside and see what the Lord declares.
Where is it , that those truths are hidden?
Where do the truths of the sky fail to reach?
How are the truths of the sky communicated: beauty. Joy.
What are the secrets of the sky? His glory. Knowledge. His work. His word.
The sky has plenty to say.
