Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

What is supposed to happen as you walk the HALLS OF HISTORY? S30e26 Ps 103
As we walk the halls of history, we recall great spiritual moments that have gone before us. Many have come before us in history. This is only appropriate, as this is not God's first day in dealing with humans.
As David recalls the Lord's answer to Moses' requests of "Show me Your glory, " and "Show me your ways," he comes back to one big response:
Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me, Bless His holy name.
Join me for a 7 minute stroll down the halls of history. Perhaps we'll end up at the same place as David. Please subscribe on YouTube.

The Psalms of My Friends
What is supposed to happen as you walk the HALLS OF HISTORY? S30e25 Ps 103
Watch as David, our psalmist, our praiser calls for us to bless the Lord 3 ways:
From the Hall of our heart, From the hall of memory, from the hall of history
Big theme: Bless the Lord as I come at this three different ways:
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
“Hymn of praise”—doesn’t quite capture it. “sustained celebration of God’s goodness and benevolence.” ESV notes
Blesses from beginning to end. Last line of 22: Bless the Lord, o my soul
Means to speak well of Him. Walk down 3 places: hall of heart, memory, his
Hall of Heart: encouragement: you can do this Mr. Heart: Mr. soul.
Bless Him my soul, and all of what is in me. Center of my being.
First encourages his heart to be encouraged
Halls of Memory: don’t forget his benefits
Don’t forget the forgiveness He grants toward iniquity
Don’t forget healing of things physical
Wonder about all the things that have been healed in me that I wasn’t aware of : broken leg, cellular healing, defense against viral bacterial attack.
Don’t’ forget redeeming your life from the pit
Don’t think he is just talking about Jospeh here.
Every believer was in a pit when she was a non-believer
This whole business is a rescue operation
In what associations do we come to the Lord? How many people are we talking?
Every believer comes before the Lord individually. 1-5
This is about you. But it is also about other. people
Every believer comes before the Lord communally. 6-14
Us OUR WE He knows our frame. He remembers we are dust, grass, flowers
About you, other humans and other spiritual creatures. 20-22
Every believer comes before the Lord Angelically, with angels.
Every believer comes before the Lord HISTORICALLY
6 The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
Hall of history; in the framework of Blessing and praise, now walk with me down the corredors of time, like a museum of unforgettable dates
Even though this might be your first day spiritually, this is not God’sfirst da
You individually enter into the Biblical story, His story, History
History: moses, Hesed remember who the Lord said He was when answers
Show me your Ways; Show me your glory
Lord descends and stood with Moses and Proclaimed
Lord passes before him:The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.. 34:6
God explains his own name by the characteristic s of faithfulness, mercy, grace, (getting less than we deserve);
anger timing slow.: He is right, just wrathful. When, generally, not just yet. We are stubborn, it takes us a while. He is patient not wanting any to perish2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
This is the OT fundamental confession of God’s character, revealation and definition of what His name is
Forgiveness business: sin, iniquity, transgression
What will you do about your sin? Unanswerable absent this part of the character of God. When you realize you stand condemned, it is the Big Gulp of revelation.
But who is this God: yes just, also the justifier. He can make you stand uncondemned, forgiven, not dealt with according to our sins.
There is a lot to start blessing: Hall of my soul. Hall of Memeory. Hall of History.
Let’s bless Him.
