Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder

An invitation to be searched by God Ps139 s30e58

Michael Smith Season 30 Episode 58

Join me as I invite the good Lord to search me and know my thoughts.  We'll use Ps139 as a template for this invitation.  Ironically, He already knows every bit of me, but at least some of the importance of this beautiful psalm is the INVITATION.

He INVITES us to invite Him in for an inspection. Please come.

An invitation to be searched by God Ps139 s30e58

1      O Lord, you have searched me and known me!

2    You know when I sit down and when I rise up;

you discern my thoughts from afar.

3    You search out my path and my lying down

and are acquainted with all my ways.

4    Even before a word is on my tongue,

behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.

5    You hem me in, behind and before,

and lay your hand upon me.

6    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;

it is high; I cannot attain it.

I am searched and I am known. My actions and words have been witnesses.

My thoughts are discerned.

You ALREADY known and know now

My paths are already acquainted by the Lord. O Lord. My future is seen.

What I want is to INVITE presence, invite your scrutiny

Please come and see me. Visit me.

Let there be no place I have been hidden from view. No place will I hide.

Even that which I do not wish to have been witnessed, has not been hidden.

Please Comfort me with the knowledge that a good God knows me

That I am seen and accompanied?

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, you are in good company with David.

5    You hem me in, behind and before, .

.

Let me feel this hand You talk about: upon me. The holding hand and leading

Be my “body man”, close, protection and presence.

7    Where shall I go from your Spirit?

Or where shall I flee from your presence?

8    If I ascend to heaven, you are there!

If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!

9    If I take the wings of the morning

and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

10    even there your hand shall lead me,

and your right hand shall hold me.

Don’t let me. Squirm let me settle. Go ahead Lord, know me. I give permission and access for a close inspection

Let me sit in the inescapableness.

Grant Content with being known

Tamp down any inclination to escape. Quiet me as creature in the Creator

Let me take the wings of the morning and fly right back to you

13    For you formed my inward parts;

you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

14    I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

       Wonderful are your works;

my soul knows it very well.

15    My frame was not hidden from you,

       when I was being made in secret,

intricately woven in the depths of the earth.

16    Your eyes saw my unformed substance;

       in your book were written, every one of them,

the days that were formed for me,

when as yet there was none of them.

Let The greatest witness to me, of the existence of God, is the existence of ME

Lord I admire and appreciate my inward parts, my Mother’s womb and Your Knitting.

I too praise you that I am wonderfully made. And wonderful You are

     17      How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!

How vast is the sum of them!

Lord, I wish to treasure Your thoughts…Will you help me?

calculate the WORTH of His word. Esteem highly. Care about what You think. Make room for Your thoughts.

Value your thoughts beyond my thoughts. Make me curious and attentive this Sunday Effort, study, time, habit, part of your calendar, prayer that is founded and reflect my growing appreciation for your thoughts.

Let the real estate of my actions, and time and effort grow in the growing preciousness of Your thoughts.

18    If I would count them, they are more than the sand.

I awake, and I am still with you.

19    Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God!

to put them BACK in His good graces exactly by taking them OUT of His good graces

So the Lord’s thumb,puts Israel and Judah,

May your thumb of discipline bring people back to your fold.

23    Search me, O God, and know my heart!

Try me and know my thoughts!

24    And see if there be any grievous way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting!

Search me, know me NOW.

Try me, test me, know my thoughts NOW. SEE THE GRIEF Why?

See if there is a grievous way. See if I’m travelling any dreadful and dangerous paths that I am not aware of. May the warning be a protective hand.

May I receive it
