Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’
Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
I was tricked into Psalm 119 s30e60
I was kindly tricked into pursuing Psalm 119. It is the longest Psalm. Who knew?
It is the longest psalm to love. It is the longest psalm of love for the Word.
Therefore, it is the longest psalm of love for the Lord.
I am glad I was tricked into hearing Psalm 119. You can be too.
Join me for 7 minutes as we hear the beat of this song

I was tricked into Psalm 119 s30e60
So I have been asking my friends what their favorite psalm is, and then endevoring to give them some sort of treatment in this podcast. The good news is that a dear Sister pointed me towards Ps119. I come at the bible pretty simply. That is, I just open the page and read it a bunch and listen to what it is saying first, and then saying to ME next and then make a podcast to hopefull encourage you.
Nobody told me about the treasure that Ps119 is. It is a repetition from multipleperspectives as to the wonder that is the WORD.
Absent the push, I probably wouldn’t have done the longest psalm in the Bible in this format, but here we are, having got a little PUSH. Here we are, having been trickedinto doing it.
So let’s give it our all. God put it in the Bible for a reason that pours over each one of us. He didn’t put it in the Bible for ANOTHER people group…No, it is for his BELIEVERS and His still not yet believers.
Yesterday We stumbled on the greatest PURITY verse in the Bible.
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.
11 I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
You will struggle with porn unless you love something more.
Probably wont have purity unless you love something more. And the conviction that I might not sin against you.
I study YOUR ways so that it affect MY ways
We are in the structure of this 22 letter, 8 verse each acrostic. Today the C
Gimel
17 Deal bountifully with your servant,
that I may live and keep your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
wondrous things out of your law.
19 I am a sojourner on the earth;
hide not your commandments from me!
20 My soul is consumed with longing
for your rules at all times.
21 You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones,
who wander from your commandments.
22 Take away from me scorn and contempt,
for I have kept your testimonies.
23 Even though princes sit plotting against me,
your servant will meditate on your statutes.
24 Your testimonies are my delight;
they are my counselors. L
Help me with this Lord.
Open my eyes that I can behold the wonderouse things out of your law
Hide not your commandments from me
You have favored me so much in dealing generously with me your servant
For me to live is to KEEP YOUR WORD
My soul is consumed with longing for this
Your testimonies are my delight and they are my counselors
Even though I have enemies, I will meditate on your statutes
This is really what this podcast is about: Using a tool of encouragement to get us all “meditating” on your word: ponder it for 7 minutes; chew on it now and hopefully have a moment of regurgitation to ruminate on it at another moment in the day too. ABCD

25 My soul clings to the dust;
give me life according to your word!
26 When I told of my ways, you answered me;
teach me your statutes!
27 Make me understand the way of your precepts,
and I will meditate on your wondrous works.
28 My soul melts away for sorrow; ************
strengthen me according to your word!
29 Put false ways far from me
and graciously teach me your law!
30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I set your rules before me.
31 I cling to your testimonies, O Lord;
let me not be put to shame!
32 I will run in the way of your commandments
when you enlarge my heart! L
Does your soul melt away for sorrow?
Is your sould clinging to the dust?
Why did my friend trick me into doing Ps119?
To sing with the great brothers and sisters who have gone beforeus.
The heros who have had their souls melt away for sorrow…and did what?
Gave effort to UNDERSTAND the way of your precepts
Gave time to MEDITATE on your wondrous works
Put false ways far
Gave graceiousness to be taught Your law
Gave volition to Choose the way of faithfulness
Gave tenacity to CLING toyour testimonies
gave wings to RUN in the way of your commandments
When? YES: even when my soul melts away for sorrow.
I’m glad I was tricked into Psalm 119
