Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

The world’s best worship leaders are infants s30e99 Ps 8½
There is a season in the development of little humans when they cannot yet talk. Ironically, the Lord uses this season for them to PRAISE and to LEAD in PRAISE.
If you have ever seen a baby up close, you might have cooed and admired and commented as to their glory. This is the Lord's doing. He uses such little ones to praise Him. He uses such little ones to lead adults in praise.
He uses those who cannot talk to shut the mouths of those who can.
He uses those who cannot talk to most clearly sing the strengths of God to those who can.

The world’s best worship leaders are infants s30e99 Ps 8 ½
One of the greatest questions in all of the canon of Scripture: v. 4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
What is this creature, made by You, given jobs by you, given resources and responsibilities by you.,
One who has the crown of glory and honor
One with dominion: steward of all the works of the hands of the Lord
One with all that YOU have place under his feet: beasts, birds, fish
You now give responsibilitiy for all life to ONE life: mankind
Not just the beast of the fields. But the fields themselves. Not just the birds of the air, but the air itself.
What is our place in the created order? It is at the top. One life, mankind, is charged with the life of every dog, every rhino, every tuna, every drop of water here. Responsible, steward having dominion over all the works
We are charged with a lot because we are thought a lot of
He thinks a lot of us, so he charges us with a lot
If we could look inside the mind of God what would we find? We’d find YOU
THAT INSIDE YOUR MIND OF GOD, AND HEART OF THE DIVINE AND THOUGHTS OF THE MAJESTIC CREATOR, IS His majestic creation MAN AND WOMAN.
2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength
Moment in development: babies and infants. Generally BEFORE they can talk. Babies nurse, generally, as a rule of thumb, when they really start to talk, they stop nursing. So this is the time wea re talking about: before they can really use their word:
is translated in the NT Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies
you have prepared praise’?”
Matt 21:16 is quoting out passage 8:2 .
14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant, 16 and they said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read,
“ ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies
you have prepared praise’?”
The NT is quoting from Hebrew, rendering into Greek, and we render to English
It rightly interprets STRENGTH of our Hebrew passage: Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength
STRENGTH is “the strength attributed to God in song”
Strength is PRAISE.
You mean to tell me, that babies that cannot yet talk with words, infants and slightly older, can use their mouths UNIQUELY praise God?
I happen to know 2 nursing infants right now in my office of grandfather
And yes, they are a highway to God himself. Have you ever seen a little baby? Have you ever been struck with the glorious noises they make?
Out of the mouths of those that cannot use words, God is uniquely praised.
God uses babies, to stop adults in their tracks and listen, and hold, and touch and smell and MARVEL.
He uses those who cannot talk to shut the mouths of those who can
He uses those who cannot talk to most clearly sing the strengths of God and to invite adults to joining them in stating those strengths in word and song
The world’s best worship leaders are infants
The Lord’s best worship leaders are infants
Little ones, before they can talk, specifically, are personally praising, and are LEADING those who can talk to praise.
He uses babies as a highway to himself.—
Go find a baby. Tune yourself to the spiritual frequency of God’s creativity, and you will hear the PRAISE OF GOD out of their mouths. and the rest of them too, of infants and of nursing babies
If you find yourself gushing and babbling and cooing and weeping a little and gaspingthis might just be the best worship you have ever done.
Specifically, direct this to the Lord.
Like Jesus Himself said in quoting our beloved little Ps 8: “ ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies
you have prepared praise’?”
How Majestic Is Your Name
8 To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of David.
1 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
