Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’
Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
My mother’s favorite verse s30e101 Ps46:10
Here it is: Be still and know that I am God.
I think this would be my mother's favorite verse. It was one of the first passages she underlined in her bible. She's passed from this world now, so she really now knows that He is God! Meantime, for us we can be still and know some truths in Psalm 46.
Join me and my mother today.

My mother’s favorite verse s30e46 Ps46:10
Series of psalms of my friends: I think this would be my mother’s answer
God Is Our Fortress
46 To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A Song.
1 God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
,The earth is giving way, the mountains are moving into the sea
Its waters roar and foam, and mountains tremble
Yet, WE WILL NOT FEAR why: God is our refuge and strength
A very present help in trouble.
The PEOPLE of God are secure because the PERSON of God is strong
The PEOPLE of God are safe because the PERSON of God is solid
Our safety is directly related to our attachment to the VERY PRESENT HELP
The MUCHNESS of His assistance
He helps to the highest degree those who fondly bond to Him
He is strong for the people who refuge in Him practically, presently
He is a help for those who would have Him
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
,God is in the midst of her
God is in the midst of the city of God, His holy habitation
The city of God cannot be moved because of the weight of God Himself
God will help when morning dawns
I know that many are watching in the darkness, before morning has dawned
Are you of the people of God. He’s done His work to invite you
Do you desire the Person of God? Do you desire an ongoing relation ship with God, or Do you merely desire the help of God?
He has given an opportunity: mostly repenting. Mostly believing. Mostly agreeing with Him
A desire for the fortress of God is a turn ones heart in fondness toward Him
If you wish the fortress, assess the fondness
If you don’t want to be moved, check whether you are in the midst of the city in which He inhabits
He helps those who habitate with Him
Call first on not the help, call for the habitation. The help will follow.
Call on the Lord of hosts to BE WITH US, be with you. Then He may bring the Host. God of the Army
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
10 “Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
mHere it is: my mother’s favorite verse. One of the first she ever underlined in her bible:
“Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
Stillness is our superpower
Ps 37 The meek shall inherit the earth.
In God’s kingdom: TheMeek, the bowed the bent will inherit earth
The oppressed will occupy
Those curved will take custody
Reinforces the distinctives, that the stillness is the strength.
Associates and honors that the stillness, rest, quietness is the key to unlocking strength and salvation
There is strength in stillness. There is strength in stillness
This rest in the Person of God is our power—He’s got this. He is working all things for good. Others might mean things for evil. I am still in Him. Resting in Him. Trustingin Him
Stillness is our SUPERPOWER
It is in stillness, in a quiet, trusting posture that our inexplicable experience of the kingdom is expanded. Stillness is our superpower.
Spiritual acrage is achieved by the returning and resting in Him.
Stillness is our superpower.
It is only in the stillness that I can most accurately hear to what truths I cling
Be still and know that I am God
My prayer is that this will mean as much to you as it did to my mother.
