Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

If today is a day of distress for you… s30e129 psalm 102
What if that characterizes your day today? If so, perhaps you will ask with me: 7 uuxuxWhat does the Word have for you? What does God have for you?
Walk thru Ps102 with me, for it is by the afflicted, so it is FOR the anguished
Can we say, like our faint brother from 1000 BC:HAVE PITY ON MY DUST
Do Not Hide Your Face from Me
102 A Prayer of one afflicted, when he is faint and pours out his complaint before the Lord.
1 Hear my prayer, O Lord;
let my cry come to you!
2 Do not hide your face from me
in the day of my distress!
Incline your ear to me;
answer me speedily in the day when I call! S This is
Humble, distressed cry to the Lord. Are there any other kinds?
Are not the attitudes of the afflicted most contusive to Access to the Lord?
Is it the proud that stand before Him?
Are the demands of the self-righteous pleasing to His ear?
Do not the days of distress lend themselves toward real spiritual contact with the Lord?
If this is such a day for you; if today is a day of distress for you; have hope. READ ON
3 For my days pass away like smoke,
and my bones burn like a furnace.
4 My heart is struck down like grass and has withered;
I forget to eat my bread.
5 Because of my loud groaning
my bones cling to my flesh.
6 I am like a desert owl of the wilderness,
like an owl of the waste places;
7 I lie awake;
I am like a lonely sparrow on the housetop.
8 All the day my enemies taunt me;
those who deride me use my name for a curse.
9 For I eat ashes like bread
and mingle tears with my drink,
10 because of your indignation and anger;
for you have taken me up and thrown me down.
11 My days are like an evening shadow;
I wither away like grass. sIf you feel like a lonely sparrow on a housetop—you against the whole world
S With a heart struck down
With circumstances so bad you forgot to eat
With affliction pressing in to the extent that LOUD groans are expressed
Sleepless, tearful, withered, taken up and thrown down
If this is you , you are in good company
This is where push comes to shove in the spiritual walk
These are the days when your faith is tested,
Those when it is difficult to respond
But like Peter said, John 6:68
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,
Acts 4:12
12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
to whom else can we go?
If today is the day of distress, it is also a day of opportunity:
12 But you, O Lord, are enthroned forever;
you are remembered throughout all generations.
13 You will arise and have pity on Zion;
it is the time to favor her;
the appointed time has come.
14 For your servants hold her stones dear
and have pity on her dust. **************
15 Nations will fear the name of the Lord,
and all the kings of the earth will fear your glory.
16 For the Lord builds up Zion;
he appears in his glory;
17 he regards the prayer of the destitute
and does not despise their prayer. ?Have pity on my dust.
My bad time can be your favored time.
Have you ever seen someones hardest day be their finest day?
Someone wracked with pain, or aging, or some devastation, who turns her feet toward the Lord, like here: WORSHIPS
You will arise. You will have pity on her dust. You will favor. It is the appointed time. You appear in your glory. You regard the destitue and do not despise her prayer
102 A Prayer of one afflicted, when he is faint and pours out his complaint before the Lord.
.when His is faint
When the world is standing on your last nerve
When I got one breath left
Maybe you are faint today
Maybe today is a day of distress for you
Then obey Ps 102: HAVE PITY ON MY DUST
HELP. I turn to You Lord. HAVE PITY ON MY DUST.
