Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

Going on a Greatness Hunt. s30e134 Psalm145
After going on a "greatness hunt", David concludes that God's greatness is unsearchable. It doesn't mean he shouldn't search. It means that after such a spiritual accounting, there is still more greatness to discover. As he does, he recommends a few things:
- speak with yourself about what you find
- speak with others about what you find
- speak with God about what you find.

What should I do with the greatness of God? s30e134 Psalm145
We have a great God. His greatness is “unsearchable” 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable.
Unsearchable doesn’t me we DO NOT SEARCH.
Unsearchable means that when we are done with our search, there is still more greatness to find.
This is not a “do not search” warning sign
This is a DO SEARCH invitation.
Hey, how’d you like to get after the depth and riches and greatness of God.
You are SUPPOSED to be seeking the greatness.
You are called to search, and then account, assess, and then when you have done such a spiritual forensic accounting, do something with it.
When I have searched and accounted and thought about the greatness of God, what should I do with it
What should I do with the greatness of God?
4 One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
6 They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness.
7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousnessWhat should I do with the greatness of God?
1. Speak with YOURSELF about greatness unsearchable
Sit with God. Meditate. Occupy yourself with the greatness for a little while. Be alone with God’s greatness. But don’t stop there
2. Speak to other humans
commend them to another. Communicate with other humans.
I have found God to be great. Really great. Greatness unsearchable caliber of greatness. This greatness is not just for your consumption. This is a delicious wine best shared. Share life. Share fellowship. Share service.
3. Speak to God about it. There is a proper response when the light bulb of unsearchable greatness goes on: worship.
POUR FORTH the fame of God
SING ALOUD of your righteousness
v.10 all your saints shall bless you
He will pause here and go back and for as to declarations of WHO God is: God is unsearchably great. So we should speak with ourselves, other humans and speak to God about it.
Then he goes back to the character of God
8 The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9 The Lord is good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made. .
This is a mention of the essential, or at least AN ESSENTIAL element that we are 100% dependent upon. His Hesed. His faithfulness when we were not, or are not. His commitment to His promise, when we faulter in our commitment to oUR promise.
He is slow to anger: If we watched, from 40,000feet, man’s interaction and rebellion and sin and prayer, and generosity and service and fellowship, we’d all rationally conclude: Wow, God should be a LOT MORE ANGRY with mankind. But at least for now we disproportionally see: graciousness, mercy, slowness to anger, abounding covenantal love, goodness, and faithfulness to His creation.
V. 13 just to come declares: The Lord is FAITHFUL in all His words and KIND in all his works.—we’ll have to come back to this.
Someday, I’m guessing on the day of God’s wrath and judgement, if we could look at God’s anger, on that day we will NOT say He’s SLOW to anger. We’ll then say: this anger looks about right.
We talked about 3 responses
1.speak with yourself
2. speak with other humans
3. speak with God about Himself: worship. Worth-ship. This is the spiritual forensic accountant who goes on a greatness-search.
What does he find? Wow, your greatness is unsearchable Unsearchable doesn’t me we DO NOT SEARCH.
Unsearchable means that when we are done with our search, there is still more greatness to find.
So what should I do? .
10 All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, 3. speak with God about Himself
and all your saints shall bless you! 2. speak with other humans
11 They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom
and tell of your power,
12 to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds,
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures throughout all generations. .
Hear the assessing, the searching, the looking the personal meditating, assessing, assigning worth. Then speaking to Yourself, other humans and God Himself
Psalm 145. A search for the greatness of God, then what?
1.speak with yourself
2. speak with other humans
3. speak with God about Himself: worship.
