To be a Christian is to "long for home". To be a Christian is to seek and thirst and faint for God. To be a Chrisitan is to forever long for more of Him, until you get all of Him, in heaven. Welcome to Psalm 63.

The closer you are to heaven, the more enviable your position.  This is exactly as this is supposed to go. This is exactly why you were created.

IRONY of those who find God.When you sign up to be a Christian, you sign up for longing. Longing for MORE of Him

To be a Chrisitan is to forever long for more of Him, until you get all of Him in heaven.

Ps63, want MORE. 1        O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; 

my soul thirsts for you; 

       my flesh faints for you, 

as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. 

Here is the good news if you only have a few days left: Your hunger shall soon be fulfilled.  Yes, we grieve your losses and the loss of you.

This is the unique part: This only happens in the upside down world of achieved Christianity: 

But we also ENVY you: You are getting what you were created for

       This is EXACTLY how this is supposed to Go

       You get to go and be satisfied, fulfilled, accomplished:

A place of no more pain, no more sickness and no more tears. Rev 21: 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

       We get to stay here and thirst and faint and seek

You will soon go from wanting MORE of HIM, to getting ALL OF HIM

       You may leave those of us who need some of Him, and those of us who seek a greater portion of Him,  but Your thirst will soon be slated.

He already created you to CRAVE.

My wanting                         is my worship

My Seeking You                  is my Song to You

My PINING                        is my praise

And in this way: Yes, true believers Envy the walking dead

2    So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, 

beholding your power and glory. 

     3       Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. 

This assurity from the PAST is the foundation upon which we confidently go forwardHow important is it?

. Think with me about this in the future: Lets say 1000 years from your death, God stops being of the character of HESED. Faithful loyalty to His knucklehead people somehow stops. (Yes, I realize that this is actually HERESY)

If He is unfaithful, then we all fall out of heaven. *********

It, HESED,  was the pillar upon which we were standing before Him for eternity

Without the pillar of HESED, 1000 years from now, we ALL FALL OUT OF HEAVEN

         For if there is No steadiness with God,

there is nothing to stand on or at least nothing to stand on for long

Here is an amazing new thought: we absolutely depend upon the HESED character of God to put us into heaven, (or at least allow us a way that we could get there) AND we depend upon it for our continuance there**********. 

5  My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, 

and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, 

6    when I remember you upon my bed, 

and meditate on you in the watches of the night; 

7    for you have been my help, 

and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. 

. “What to do in the middle of the night

Have you ever woke up and wondered: I’M UP. what am I supposed to do now?

Remember You where? upon my bed

Remember You when? In the watches

Rember what of You? You have been my help

       Recite the History of where I have been with you.

       Recite the previous helps, for they will help with the future helps

       The kindness and the faithfulness of God’s historical walk with you, predicts the kindness and faithfulness of God’s future walk with you

He encourages us to get our mouth, mind memory and music engaged in previous truths.

Then Ps 63 leaves us with a great Picture:     7           for you have been my help, 

and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. 

With your ‘MAGINATION: put yourself in the shadow of His wings

In the shadow of your wings. Here is what the LORD is giving PERMISSION for in Ps63

       It is appropriate for us to think of ourselves as baby birds, 100% dependent upon God the protector Papa Bird

       This God the protector has His wings over us, we are enshadowed

       Ps 17:8 confirms that we are the apple of His eye, HIDDEN in the shadow of your wings

Your hesed toward me is better than life. Without HESED=no life

Leave you today: leave you under the shadow of His wing.
