Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

How to be JUST. A Primer. S31e43 Mt 5:6
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Let's go with the inclination to be JUST; to be RIGHTEOUS. It is a godly and noble thing.
How can I get there? What is the pathway and what is at the end of the search. Who is at the end of the search?
What if I told you the search is FREE of cost? What if I told you the search would be of GREAT COST?
Join me today in our search for JUSTICE.

How to be JUST. A Primer. S31e43 Mt 5:6
Hunting for righteousness.
Seeking Justice6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. W
Thirsting for God is a good thing.
John 7: 37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.
Thirsting for God should move us towards Jesus in our actions and in our words. : Come and believe.
Seek him
Rom 3: 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace (made in right standing) as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Righteousness does not accrue to our accounts by being nice, good, recycling or watching our carbon footprint
We are made right be something that happens in our soul: faith, belief: directionally toward Jesus
All have sinned and justice comes as a gift, without external cost to you R. is FREE
Unfortunately it cost Jesus blood
R. is Costly to Him
R. is not exactly easy for us. Heb 4:11 says it is worth STRIVING to enter His rest
Asking here to receive by faith that which was bought and brought by blood
Jesus is just. Jesus is the perfect one. Therefore, He is the justifier of the one who has faith in Him.
R. is PERSONAL. It is the PERSON of you seeking the PERSON of Him. That is will direct our search toward the PERSON
We are righteous before God by a whole lotta activity by Jesus
He is the righteousness revealed
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. W
If you are hungering for righteousness and justice, this is a good and godlything. If you are hungering for r. you are a friend of mine.
Don’t stop until you find Him A sincere search will leave you on the porch of Jesus. You then can believe or not.
Jesus gave greatly so that you could believe greatly
Like Abraham:Rom4: 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.”
How can I be like Abraham in my quest for righteousness.
Ab is known and accounted for as a righteous person. How’d he get there? 3 words: ab believed God
God is not mocked: We will be judged on how we judge Him
Conclusion
If you are hungering for r. you are a friend of mine.
You are in good company
Be a righteousness hunter. Be like Abraham.
Don’t stop until you find justice and righteousness!
Strive for it. Hunger for it.
To hunger for righteousness is to hunger for Jesus.
The quest for Justice and justification is directional
Hunger for Him.
Believe if you haven’t.
He’s made it so that obtaining and possessing and enjoying the benefits of righteousness is COST FREE. You only have to believe.
However, realistically this is a cost that many have accounted as TOO costly for them to do. How much does righteousness cost?
Only your faith, only belief. Only agreement with God.
“Oh, anything but that. That is a spiritual bridge too far.”
For some, even “free” to you is too much.
Keep going to the Person of Christ if you have.
Live like you mean it.
Live like r. was given freely to you and your keister is in the buttertub of grace; of r.
Those who possess righteousness should be the strongest seekers of righteousness. Yes, Christians always want more.
Called to flee all kinds of evil, passions 1 tim 6:10 love of money live certain way.
Does your pocketbook and zipper and time and treasure look like you have received righteousness as a gift?
Does your attitude toward the bible reflect the precious roadmap that it is towards being and staying right with God?
How to be just? Before God? Can’t be without reference to; and belief in Jesus
