Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

Living in MERCY WORLD, at least for now S31e46 Mt5:7
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We are Living in MERCY-WORLD, at least for now.
That is, we live in a mercy-world, yet we won’t always live in a mercy-world.
Our charge today is to do the right thing while we live in mercy-world. Namely:
Repent while the repenting is still available
Extend mercy to the knuckleheads you live with.
Nothing better shows the mercy of God than the mercy of a fellow knucklehead.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. HURRY. This mercy-world will not last forever.
Share. Like. Comment. It will be a mercy to me.

Living in MERCY WORLD, at least for now S31e46 Mt5:7

yet we won’t always live in a mercy world.

MERCY It is called for by Jesus
Luke 6; 36 be merciful, even as your Father is merciful
It is begged for by David in Ps 51 Have mercy on me , O God according to your steadfast love
It has been poured over all of creation
The Lord is good to all and his Mercy is over all that he has made ps145:9
We live DAILY under mercies that do not cease, at least not yet Lam 3: 22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
That is, we live in a mercy world. ****
Every waking moment you slosh around in a world full of mercy. Now we do not have to be a part of it. We can choose to cut off the mercy extending that is cried for in our word today: Mt 5:7
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Bad news: we won’t always live in a mercy world.
A day of Justice is coming. Day of finality.
Everybody gets what they deserve and sometimes desire.
The world of mercy is a tempoarary reprieve
These days of mercy is the day of the help of the Lord2 Corinthians 6:2
2 For he says,
“In a favorable time I listened to you,
and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
But someday:
Zephaniah 2:3
3 Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
who do his just commands;
seek righteousness; seek humility;
perhaps you may be hidden
on the day of the anger of the Lord.
We pray “thy kingdom come” when it fully comes, justice will be done. No one wants to be on the receiving end of justice. No one will want to be on the receiving end of justice.
What is a good thing to do while I live in a world of mercy?
There is a passage 2peter 3;9 THAT Describes our world of mercy, God’s patience
God not wishing any should perish
9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Delivering one criteria; one finish line; one goal for life: repentance
God pours out mercy every minute, every day now for one reason:
Come to repenatance while the getting is good.
Come to repentance while we live in mercy world and grace is available.
Mercy-world will not last forever.
To enjoy full throated mercy from God you will need a bad person in you life; some ner-do well that deserves a fistful of JUSTICE.
Because of the mercy that God has given you To bad guy, especially him, you extend a fistful of mercy.
Then, the Lord extends to you even MORE MERCY
It is a vicious cycle of mercy, or perhaps the NON-vicous cycle of mercy.
The Lord gives to you, you give to the undeserving, the Lord gives to (undeserving) you, you give to (underserving) nerdowell
The merciful understand their own need for God’s Mercy.
Not far from those who mourn, the meek, the bent, those who hunger for righteousness.

Nothing will better show that you have gotten the message of God’s mercy to you than extending mercy to another—particularly somwone who doesn’t deserve it.
