Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

What is purity? It means Clean, without blemish. A pure object as used in Revelation is one ready to be of service.
Blessed are the PURE in Heart, for they shall see God Mt.5:8
Why be pure? God likes it, you'll like it, and others will like it.
Being pure in heart doesn’t happen by accident. Join me today to get started.

Are you “ready to be of service?” S31e47 Mt5:8
Blessed are the PURE in Heart, for they shall see God Mt.5:8
What is pure? Clean, without blemish. A pure object as used in Revelation as one ready to be of service. ***
Done with significant obstacles to be in a state of usefulness.
Hearts don’t start out purely. Have you ever met a 2 ½ year old. The processbegins. A clean plate is ready to be of service. A dirty plate requires some steps before it is ready to be used. A dirty plate has potential, promised usefulness.
Are you spiritually ready to be of use NOW?
Is there that one big sin…that one thing that has pestered you for months, years, even decades?
Being human is a challenge in the spiritual realm. How can we stand before a holy God?
It doesn’t happen with out real spiritual help on His part.
It doesn’t happen without real human effort on our part.
Let’s let Him do His job in the purification process, in the cleaning up our hearts to His satisfaction.
But too, let us do our jobs in the purification process. Strive to be pure WhY? Clean is useful. Clean doesn’t have to go backwards first.
Why be pure?
1. God likes it. Clean before God.
What is the heart of man like before God. One word: evil.
This is disturbing:We are all Jeffrey Dahmer in comparison to Him. We are Not holy. Separated.
To be pure before God then means that God has done a great work. A great, great work.
He did an effort to wash and cleanse and make me right, in a way that I could never do. I stand before God, and am seen as clean before Him.
I think a pure person realizes, that he might have
made some steps forward in regard to this characteristic,
To be pure requires the work of man and the work of God.
Nobody ends up poor in spirit, mourning, meek, righteous-seeking, merciful without some human effort AND the great efforts of God.
Being pure in heart doesn’t happen by accident
But let’s keep the main thing the main thing
But GOD HAS BEEN THE GREAT MOVER to make us pure
The only way to be SPOTLESS before God is to hide under the tunic of the accomplishments and purity of Jesus.
2. We like it.
In a sense we are pure before God because we hide in Him
His righteousness makes us righteous by association
The cloak of His purity is what positionally makes us pure as we wrap ourselves in it.
This does not make me prideful, like in “how great I am.”
It makes me GRATEFUL for HOW GREAT HE IS.;
Purity being pure, enjoying purity then produces Praise; worship.
And to be of use in His kingdom is a great honor.
I wish you all the blessing of being useful to God in some way.
There are few things as satisfying.
3. Other humans like it.The beatitudes are a beautiful way to live. My Title for this series.
The pure in heart are the best people to be around: powerful, content, postured correctly, striving after the right things
Who wouldn’t want a neighbor who has a pure in heart? A co-worker? A spouse? A parent? Or a fellow church-member?
PURITY is: A power of position, that is then demonstrated in a power of usefulness.
Purity is a state of having been prepared for usefulness
Ready for usefulness.
The pure are the useful. Blessed are the pure
Purity is state of well-being in relationship with God.
Pure means ready to be of service.
We got some stuff previously taken care of, so I am ready to go with God and for God
God likes it
You’ll llike it
Other people around you will like it
Maybe you’ll ask God as we close:
Lord, How can I be of service to you? He might answer:
BE PURE of heart. Blessed are the pure in heart.
The useful are the pure, the cleaned up.
Purity means ready to be of service
Tomorrow: How do I get to purity?
