Go be a peacemaker.  First, you gotta have peace yourself.

God has made PEACE WITH ME. The least I can do is act like it.

Then, there should be a PEACE DIVIDEND that is demonstrable to my fellow combatants.

Do you have “peace with God?” S31e51 Mt5:9

9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

The Beatitudes are a call to action: being pure in heart, giving mercy, hunger for righteousness, mourn over sin, be poor and meek before Him and others.

Today’s thought: be a peacemaker.

Be a peacemaker of other men with God.

Be a peacemaker of other men towards other people

Put yourself in a position to give voice to the path of peace

Who is it, what do we call it when one is involved in reconciling other men to God? Evangelism.

The call to Jesus is ultimately a call peace.

Here’s the bad news: Why you should listen to this 6 minutes: You, without Jesus do NOT HAVE PEACE WITH GOD. You are In a state of war with Him.  You are the belligerent.  You are at fisticuffs with God.  A state of war exists between you and the God of the universe.  You are not at peace with God.

How did this happen?

How do I wake up today and find myself at odds with God?

You don’t even have to “declare” it, it already exists.  Your people friends, your countrymen, your ancestors have declared war on God long before you were born.

Then, upon your coming of spiritual age, you were drafted into the fight. If you carefully assess your thoughts, your words, and your walk, you’ll find that you have not followed His ways

War is a messy horrible terrible way to live. Imagine if you could just get out of that mess.

Enter Jesus

Peace with God Through Faith

5 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God

WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD,

But it is not everybody in number, (Who? He’s talking about believersin Rome. he’s talking about those who are JUSTified with God, that is, are in a state of peace.

Those who have had their hostilities cease

and it is not because of you in credit( It is through HIM. Who?

         Jesus. How? By faith.

That is the rightness that He has with God can be attributed to us knuckleheads, by this pesky thing called faith.

I believe that He forgives my sin and His rightness with God is then applied to me.

I am right with God, that is I am NOT AT WAR because of His activity, and my accessing that activity by faith in that activity.

I’ve used the phrase coat-tail Christianity before: we ride into a place that only Jesus can go by riding on His coattails using our superpower of faith

Think about this:

God is Just  and God in Jesus is the justifier.  He’s the One that is the peacemaker with God.  Thru Him we can be at pece with God

We can be peacemakers because He is a Peacemaker

Blessed are those who are at peace with God

Agree with me that it is a good thing to not be at war w God

For those of you who enjoy a “Peace dividend” with God

Are you supposed to just be smugly enjoying your peace and prosperity with God all by yourself? Is selfishness, self-centeredness the reason He’s given you this peace dividend????

It is for only you and no one else?

Blessed are those who can extend, the peace of God they have received to others who are at war with God

Right, Hes blessed me so as to be a blessing to others.

Practically, how can I bring peace to other belligerants who are thrashing about in hostility to God.

Words. Give voice to the Peace you have withing you.

         Give voice to the Hope

Give legs to the hope: demonstratable hope in Jesus: behavior,

Give money to the hope:is your giving, your generosity, reflective of a life reconciled to God, quantifiable.

Give obedience to the hope:way you drive: all the ways you interact with your government

your tax return, obedience, submission

Give diligence in work to the hope.

Don’t you actually do your work for the Lord?

Give time to the hope in Sevice. The way you SERVE

         Whose time are you utilizing

How are you thinking about your fellow knuckleheads

Give PEACE to the hope. The way you resolve conflict— your conduct when you are riled up does your peacemaking appropriately honor the one who has made peace with you?

Give words and worship to the hope: your prayer life—wait, I get to talk to the One who has made my relationship right? your time spent with your Peacemaker

Your worship: Lord, I get this.  You’ve done the heavy lifing and I am so thankful.

He had made PEACE WITH ME. The least I can do is act like it.

There should be a PEACE DIVIDEND that is seen and demonstrable.
