Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. As I write this video the USA is at WAR with Iran.
Noticed that Peace making has benefits. Demonstrable results
Noticed that tiny steps toward peace result in favorable results in the stock market. You learn just as much about the status of the from the business pages as you do from the front page.
Markets go down when countries move toward belligerence.
Markets go up when these countries move toward peace
In other words, the whole world responds collectively in a positive way
That is, there is a PEACE DIVIDEND
The converse is also true, someone sends a missle, stock market goes down
We should want peace and peace should have demonstrable dividends:
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Examine with me the dividends, the PEACE DIVIENEDS of peace with God
He had made PEACE WITH ME. The least I can do is act like it.
There should be a PEACE DIVIDEND that is seen and demonstrable to others as we give voice and actions toward the path of peace.
Using my analogy, the stock-market of my life should demonstrate the fact that God has made peace with me.
There should be a peace dividend.
Does the stock market of YOUR life demonstrate a peace dividend because of the Peace God Has made?
What does the PEACE DIVIDEND look like?
The PEACE dividend will be ever INCREASING Is9: 6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
His peace will have no end, eternal. And INCREASING
Perhaps this is how heaven will be tireless. New wonders. Increasing Peace
The PEACE DIVIDEND is from the Lord
The Lord is the primary mover in peacemaking.
Is 53: 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
He is the one who is bringing us peace, and it involves the cross
The PEACE DIVIDEND(from the Lord) is We received by faith.Rm 5:1
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is one’s faith that gives access to the peace maker PERSON, Jesus, and the position of peace, the reality of peace.
Jesus is the Person of peacemaking
Faith is the activity of accessing that peacemaking
One of the peace dividends is that the “state of war” ceases
This PEACE DIVIDEND is in an other-worldly category
John 14: 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
This Jesus-peace is other-worldly category Peace
Jesus peace results in something: changed hearts
Let your hearts not be troubled nor afraid.
The peace-dividend “comes from another world” not as the world gives peace do I give peace
One of the peace dividends is a changed heart.
Full circle Peacemaking then:
Peacemaking TOWARDS me is demonstrated by peacemaking FROM me. That is in word, thought, deed. Peacemaking is active
Conclusions:
He had made PEACE WITH ME. The least I can do is act like it.
There should be a PEACE DIVIDEND that is seen and demonstrable to others as we give voice and actions toward the path of peace.
Is there a difference between your words and your walk compared to someone without the Lord?
Are you experiencing INCREASING peace? Growing peace.
Is your peace true peace, sourced in the Lord?
Is your peace-dividend other worldly in category?
Has your peace-dividend been received by faith?
Does your peace-dividend have results in your changed heart?
Does your life demonstrate a PEACE DIVIDEND with God?
Even the stock market demonstrates a peace dividend between two countries that are small before Him
Your life likely will follow such a principle
Your peace dividend will result in your changed heart and then the words, the actions that follow.
I pray that you have peace with God and that peace would have dividends.
