2025 Ep. 307 Dynamic Faith: The Power of a Mustard Seed - The Soil determines the Harvest
Dynamic Faith: The Power of the Mustard Seed is about establishing God’s definition of faith. It’s very possible that “Faith” is the most controversial topic throughout the pages of scripture. Why is that true? It’s because the biggest and boldest promises are always associated “Faith.” Since that’s true, this topic generates the strongest of feelings, both positively and negatively.
At One City Church, we operate from the belief that the Bible is God’s Word; therefore, it is true and without error. We can’t pick and choose what verses we believe and keep versus what versus we doubt and delete. Since the verses on “Faith” are so prominent and important; it is essential for us to understand and apply them accurately.
That’s why this series is about moving from a man-centered to a God-centered perspective on “Faith.” When we read the scriptures from a man-centered perspective we misunderstand and misapply everything. We turn “Faith” into a formula and make it small and powerless. Obviously, that’s the complete opposition of God’s definition of “Faith.”
Today’s message looks at the parable of the sower in Matthew 13. This passage is vitally important in understanding the quality of the soil. The seed is the Word of God and is obviously important, but it is the soil that determines whether the seed is received or rejected.
In this message we’ll look at seven important principles that we can learn from farmers in cultivating good soil. This is important for many reasons, but it vitally important in determining one’s harvest. The best harvest a farmer could expect in Jesus’ day was a 10-fold harvest, but Jesus promises that one can receive a 100-fold, 60-fold, or 30-fold harvest. Listen and apply the truths of this message to receive a greater harvest.
