2025 Ep. 316 Prayer: Where the Battle is Won Pt. 4

Prayer is about so much more than a transaction. Yes, asking is important, but prayer is more about abiding than asking. Frequently, prayer is full of disappointment and delays because we ask before we abide. 

James 4:3 says, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly (with wrong motives), to spend it on your passions.” If one can ask wrongly, how does one ask rightly? Again, it goes back to this truth; prayer is a relationship, not a transaction. We ask correctly when we ask from the context of being the Father’s son or daughter. Ultimately, praying is listening to God and responding.
